First half was sloppy and poor, I thought at half time we would end up enduring a second half of them sitting in and wasting time, and that we’d struggle to break them down. Second half was class. The atmosphere for about 20 minutes was as good as I’ve known it and we just piled the pressure on them. Class. Isak and Wilson is a cheat code.

Was the same in the 37th minute before half time as well. Don’t understand it. Hard as fuck to get a ticket and at 5-0 people are more arsed about going for a lifting pint of Carling.

Why is the Southampton game at 2pm on the Sunday when it isn’t televised? Proper ladgeful kick off time that. Actually just realised it’ll be because the Everton game is the Thursday. My mates brother used to play for NUFC and was in China with the first team when Bruce was announced. He said that all of the players were laughing at the appointment. Says it all.

Bruce’s idea of having a go was bringing every attacking player off the bench on for defensive players when we were getting beat and completely ruining the shape of the team, not that there was much of a coordinated plan in the first place like. Doesn’t work on Football Manager or real life, that.

Fair point re the Metro being nearby. I live in Hebburn so it’s ideal for me tbf, was more thinking of pubs etc nearby. Gypsies Green would’ve been class. It is certainly better than where Gateshead Stadium is mind.

I went to the 0-0 draw the week before last. Class set up they’ve got, a decent match day experience despite the ground not being in a great place.

We played some lovely stuff that half season. Would be interesting to see what he would have done the following season had he stayed and been given the money Bruce was to spend on Joelinton and Maxi.

One thing I’d say about Benitez is that when a “big game” came round, we’d never falter. The Championship season we had Brighton away on the Tuesday, Huddersfield away on the Saturday and either Reading or Norwich away the following Tuesday. We beat Brighton and Huddersfield (tactical masterclass down there) and drew the other. Class.

Would you not say that Bruce benefited from having a squad that had been coached by Benitez for 3 years? Once everything Rafa had installed wore off, that’s when Bruce struggled massively imo.

Makes me wonder if Rafa is definitely who we would have went for had he been available after the takeover. Ashworth wouldn’t be here if Rafa was you’d think.

I would rather keep the roof low than have that huge gap between the top of the East stand and the glass roof. I don’t like the one posted with the glass panelling there either. Suppose beggars can’t be choosers though in this instance.
