  1. Starting today. I’ve been consciously trying very hard to remain level headed about him but the hype meter keeps going up
  2. The kid's got a little hint of serial killer in his eyes and I love that about him.
  3. Clearly Andy Howe has been reading this forum and leaked our entire target list out of frustration.
  4. No, but as a modern football club, we need to consider criteria other than "who scored more goals last season."
  5. 60m for Jackson may cost us less money in the long run than 35m for Wissa because of the PSR boost we could get if we moved Jackson 3-4 years down the line for someone better. There's really no distinction between the money side and the football side given that PSR rules are now the primary factor dictating which footballers we are permitted to employ.
  6. He's 29 years old there is basically zero chance that we ever have the chance to sell him for more money than we paid.
  7. 100%. They're about as good as each other right now, they just contribute in different ways. And there is some upside with Jackson while there is none with Wissa. (I guess Wissa would be on substantially lower wages).
  8. It's a distinction without a difference. If we let Isak go (which I don't think is going to happen), we'd have to sign another striker (or sign both of these two) anyway.

    Malick Thiaw

I normally don't care about the "biased media" stuff, but Romano definitely has something personal against us I assume folks at the club pissed him off by refusing to play his favor trading game.
  10. If you think of it as Wissa for 40m or Jackson for 60m, honestly I think I'd rather sign Jackson for 60m.
  11. Liverpool could do the funniest thing...
  12. I don't know who this is and he looks like he's thirteen years old. Whatever. Sign him.
  13. Park's is good but too crowded now. If you want BBQ, Jung Yuk Jum, Yangmani, and Mongtan (less fancy) are my current favorites. This move really is a no-brainer for Son. LAFC already has a big local Korean following. He'll be the King of LA and put the club on the map for tons of casual fans while he's at it.
  14. I refuse to post in this thread as a matter of principle. This is the last one, I swear.
  15. I agree, I don't know how good Andy Howe is at his job, but I do know that it's not reasonable to have the entire recruiting team be four dudes, with one of them being the full-time manager.
  16. My operating assumption is that we have about 100m of headroom, give or take based on wages. If Sesko had come in that would have blown most of it and necessitated that we sell Isak for serious reinforcements at CB or CM. Without Sesko, we probably have enough to grab Thiaw, Wissa, and maybe one more genuine rotation player.
  17. If he's the one making the final decision then he takes both the credit and the blame for the acts of his subordinates. That's the whole point of having a leader.
  18. You haven't the slightest idea what that job title means and neither do I. It's just lashing out at someone who seems like a convenient scapegoat. Frankly if he's actually been elevated to a title that's beyond his capabilities because of nepotism (I'm not saying this is true), then that's 100% on his uncle as well.
  19. I like how Eddie's kid nephew has become a convenient proxy for people who can't bring themselves to criticize the man himself to take out their frustration on. For all we know he's nothing more than a junior scout.
  20. Jackson is an excellent fit for Howe's system imo. He presses a lot and is good at creating space for others. Howe clearly envisions a lot of goals coming from wingers cutting inside so bad finishing is potentially less of an issue. But 80m for this caliber of player seems ridiculous on its face. What the hell do I know though.
  21. There's nothing to clean unless you want them to fire the manager.
  22. Seems like 80m is just the baseline price tag for us for any player. We could drop by Shola's office and ask him to play again and his agent would come out of retirement to ask us for an 80m sign on fee.

    Malick Thiaw

He seems like an absolute physical specimen with great pace and decent ball skills who has unfortunate lapses of concentration.

At the end of the day we’ve scouted this guy for a long time and we’re confident enough in our overall assessment that we’re not altering it based on one bad season. That’s a high confidence signing in my book. Now that I’ve said this he’s going to sign for someone else, isn’t he.

    Kevin Keegan

We obviously need someone because right now we have nobody, but I just don’t see how Kevin Keegan is remotely relevant to that conversation.
