  1. This kind of deal would have crashed this forum under the old board. Oooh... Double entrende. I see what you did there.
  2. Turned us down for Rangers when SBR was here apparently
  3. This would have never happened under the old board. I miss big money signings like Sibierski.
  4. it has to be out of context Right?
  5. Someone who undertook due diligence would be a good start, and personally I’d quite like them to wear a suit and sit in the directors box as well. All that “Look at me down this pint, I’m one of the lads me like” stuff made was a sure sign Ashley would be trouble. Yeah we'd be much better off with someone that slagged off the locals, mocked the gullible fans and took the piss out of our star player. We we’re better off with someone that slagged off the locals, mocked the gullible fans and took the piss out of our star player. Or are you suggesting we’ll do better than regularly qualifying for European with Mr Ashley at the helm. My point was, as indi has also suggested, that wearing a suit or downing a pint is utterly meaningless when it comes to whether someone can do the job or not. Or if you really think it is that important, does that mean you will support Ashley if he sticks a shirt and tie on for you? Agree. Wasn't a single person slagging off Ashley about all the "one of the lads" stuff before the shit hit the fan. I recall most of us quite enjoyed it at the time.
  6. This is actually something we do from time to time back home, the local Toon supporters' club gets together and plays footie against other supporters' clubs. We mostly just play Man U, but last summer we had a great day out playing a mini-league against Man U/Inter/Juventus.
  7. old type, that one again Not trying to start s*** mate, just think it would be fun. i was just pulling yr pisser, i think it would be impossible to organise, but your welcome to play next time. Think of it as something to look forward to in addition to the event itself if we ever get to a cup final. I'm sure most of the foreign folk on here would set aside anything less important than their own funerals to be there if we're ever in with a chance at winning real silverware.
  8. If its a loan I can't really see it being a terrible decision. Don't think it would be a positive move to be honest. It's not as if he's a class player who's just on a bad run and needs a change of surroundings, he's genuinely just not good enough for the PL.
  9. old type, that one again Not trying to start shit mate, just think it would be fun.
  10. My dream (which will probably only happen if we get to a cup final or something, forcing all of us to get our asses over to England.) The N-O Football match MK II: Geordies v. Foreigners
  11. poor man's Jonas imo Completely different players. Bresciano is a 'box to box' centre midfielder. Thought he played wing-forward in a 4-3-3 for Palermo. Then again, this was two years go when they played us in Europe, so I could be wrong.
  12. Except Honduras is in central America Surprised how easily the 2 Hondurans made the step from the Honduran league to the `mighty` premier league so easily.......been class for them along with Valencia. They`ve just bought a Colombian player also recently and by all accounts he looks canny Just goes to show that there are good players everywhere as long as you're willing to look for them. I wonder who's doing Wigan's scouting?
  13. To be fair, they are third bottom of the league and Blackburn have a game in hand, looks a lot like relegation form to me. Mostly down to their shit start to the season. If they keep picking up points at the same pace they've been doing under Redknapp they should be comfortable. Good fun to see that they've already got a "Redknapp Out!" thread over there though
  14. To be fair I think they're still 5-4-4 in the league under Redknapp. Hardly relegation form.
  15. I think it goes without saying that he should be near the top of our list when [wishful thinking] we part ways with Kinnear at the end of the season [/wishful thinking]
  16. Not exactly much competition. (without meaning to play down Bruce's abilities) Come to think of it, it's basically just him or Redknapp now isn't it?
  17. There's an argument for him being the best English manager right now.
  18. Great manager Harry Redknapp, eh?
  19. Gomez wants to come off, Spurs physio won't let him! Just how bad is their backup anyway?
  20. 7~8 is just ridiculous. Even West Brom doesn't have a 70~80% chance of going down right now with so many games remaining.
  21. How do you know there all available? I didn't think Mancienne was available for a start, thats why Chelsea recalled him from his loan. Spurs would want a lot back for Bentley too. City youngsters have no long-term future there, everyone available at West Ham, Mancienne's just been recalled for cover and he'll be off as soon as the injury situation clears up. Bentley would probably cost 8~10mish, but that would be a bargain.
  22. Wigan v. Tottenham. Dear me, shame they can't give out double losses.
  23. There's the potential for a savvy manager with a decent-sized transfer budget to go out there and get a good young core of English players for a reasonable price right now. Pick up the likes of Hart, Johnson, Onuoha, Sturridge from City, Nab Bentley and Huddlestone from Spurs Get Noble off West Ham, Mancienne from Chelsea... All available for transfer and other than Bentley, all probably for less than 5m.
