  1. There's an argument for him being the best English manager right now.
  2. Great manager Harry Redknapp, eh?
  3. Gomez wants to come off, Spurs physio won't let him! Just how bad is their backup anyway?
  4. 7~8 is just ridiculous. Even West Brom doesn't have a 70~80% chance of going down right now with so many games remaining.
  5. How do you know there all available? I didn't think Mancienne was available for a start, thats why Chelsea recalled him from his loan. Spurs would want a lot back for Bentley too. City youngsters have no long-term future there, everyone available at West Ham, Mancienne's just been recalled for cover and he'll be off as soon as the injury situation clears up. Bentley would probably cost 8~10mish, but that would be a bargain.
  6. Wigan v. Tottenham. Dear me, shame they can't give out double losses.
  7. There's the potential for a savvy manager with a decent-sized transfer budget to go out there and get a good young core of English players for a reasonable price right now. Pick up the likes of Hart, Johnson, Onuoha, Sturridge from City, Nab Bentley and Huddlestone from Spurs Get Noble off West Ham, Mancienne from Chelsea... All available for transfer and other than Bentley, all probably for less than 5m.
  8. Butt will come straight back in, and considering that the alternatives are a want-away, out of position player and Geremi, I'm not sure I can disagree with that.
  9. Ah gerraway man. You were the one who made the thread about the Beye/Colo/Bassong/Enrique backline, praising it, and you were right. Colo's got his weaknesses but the entire defensive unit - from strikers to defenders - were pretty shoddy all day long. As i've said earlier, i cannot for the life of me understand why we didn't drop a yard or so back, when it was clear within the opening encounters that we might get skinned by a long ball or a counter-attack. Their second goal was a contribution of the two, on-rushing forward makes a good run and receives a good ball. It was only gonna need to happen once. Kinnear always seems to play a very compressed formation with a very very high line. It's cost us some points imo.
  10. I'm just going to stick to "he's Argentina's first choice center-half, he can't be shit!" School of blind faith for now.
  11. Guthrie's certainly not our best player, but he's definitely our most rapidly improving one.

    Kinnear Out

That's what i mean. If Ashley is serious, then doing some of these things - or atleast attempting to do them, would have been first on his agenda. Appoint a Chairman who will settle the fans down, dismantle or atleast dilute the structure as it clearly isn't popular with the majority of managers, and maybe - just maybe - look around to see if there are better managerial candidates. From what it looks like, absolutely none of this has even slightly happened, or been attempted. And like i say, it just proves that Ashley really doesn't give a s*** anymore. Which is fair enough, i can live with that, but he needs to get a clue cos we'll go nowhere but eventually down with things as they are. If Joe Kinnear is the one given this summer's kitty then we can write off next season aswell, and i think most people will. Attendances will drop even further, no doubt. I pray to God that the penny drops for Ashley before, lets say, November/December - when we're in the bottom three with Kinnear, with a s**** squad, attendances lingering around the 40k mark. Cos i can see it happening. Will we even be in the Premier League by then? I reckon so, but others don't seem to be so confident given the current state. On the Ashley thing, the problem is he obviously doesn't think the way you and I described there is the way forward. Which would be fine...if his way was f***ing working, but it clearly isn't. People talk about a hatred for Spurs, what they do, blah blah blah, but I really admire them and in particular Daniel Levy for what happened in the Ramos situation. He clearly saw that it wasn't working, so got rid of the manager and dismantled the structure, brought in Redknapp and said "There you go, total control". I mean is it really so hard to admit you're wrong? The distinction being that Levy wants to keep his club. Ashley obviously doesn't.
  13. Ah this just sounds more and more fun the more I hear about it. Wish I could be there
  14. Comfortable mid table? Jesus Christ man, I'd give anything for comfortable mid table right now.
  15. I absolutely couldnt agree more with you mate I agree that Liverpool have been pretty s*** this year, but I just hate man utd with a passion that eclipses just about anything else. I think it's a foreigner thing. We live in an environment where 90% of the PL watchers around us are plastic as f*** Man Utd fans who've never been to Old Trafford, barely know their own squad but insist on plastering themselves with all manner of merchandise like it's some kind of f***ing clothing brand. Having to deal with c***s like that talking the piss about the football club I support day in and day out gives me an extra little bit of passion when it comes to hating Man United.
  16. Swap deal for Palacios, yes please. Won't happen. Might as well ask Man U to swap Ronaldo for Duff while we're at it
  17. Just realized that if Man U win their three in hand, they're back up to top again. Cunts. They just might end up winning it yet again after all.
  18. He's disgustingly strong, absolutely crazy physical strength. For that reason alone I think he'll make it in the Premiership as a utility player at the very least even if he only improves marginally. If he can be coached into being a "smarter" target-man, improves his poor technique, and gets into the grove of Premiership first-team football... Who knows? Could turn out to be a pretty good player one day.
  19. http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/sport/122060/NEWCASTLE-2-WEST-HAM-2.html What a disgusting article. Bargain basement club? Who are these star players we've gone and sold then, Milner? Parker? Martin Hardy is based in Newcastle & is Newcastle fan as well the pain he is feeling atm is being unleashed in his writing. Not exactly helping by reinforcing our laughing-stock image in a national newspaper is he?

  21. Loved Big Sam/didn't get along with Keegan. Nothing we could do. None of this has been confirmed of course, but seems like a better explanation than "we just let our best CB go for peanuts because we're idiots like that."

    Jonas Gutierrez

I used to think the same. But having seen how utterly uncomfortable he was I'd rather just leave him to play the position he wants to play.

    Jonas Gutierrez

Because it worked so well the last time we tried that. exactly when did we play Jonas in the centre with 2 capable wingers either side? Looked dogshit in the middle against Stoke. If you insist on attributing that to the fact that Beye was playing RM instead of just admitting that he isn't a CM, that's your call. eh? what's Beye got to do with anything So we saw Jonas in the middle for 45 minutes against Stoke in which the entire team was out of shape and because of it you're concluding that he isn't a CM? Yes. It also may have something to do with a fact that he's been a winger for his entire career.
