I agree that it's great from a sentimental standpoint, but let's not forget that one Matty Pattison was a full South Africa international, and South Africa is a far more competetive international squad than Congo is. I personally don't understand what all the Lua Lua raving is about. He's got potential yes, but he's done absolutely nothing of note for the few hours he's been on the pitch for the first team. In the mean time, Milner has single handedly saved us from relegation and he's still a shit player with no future just because he's not running the 100m in 10 seconds.

Neither I nor anybody else here believes that he was the best appointment, or that he's a true world-class manager. But like everyone else, I love the man to bits and just can't bring myself to be hostile towards him, even when he makes some surely shocking decisions. From an empirical standpoint, I think he'll do better at better once he gets used to the job and his managerial skills sharpen back up to where they used to be. Hopefully he'll also get a boost from being able to sign his own players in the summer. So summary, I don't think he was the best appointment, but I just love him so much so I don't really care. He deserves his chance to stabilize us and take us places again.

looks like one who enjoys going forward just as much as staying back. Still a lot of niggly deficiencies in his game that need to be worked out. But he's strong, pretty fast, and looking loaded with potential. Look forward to seeing him develop.

In the first half we were too worried about getting beaten to try and win it, the second half was more relaxed, the second half performance and point gained tonight will change the way we approach the Fulham game. Just like the preformance against Blackburn changed the way we approached the Liverpool game? This team has been way too hit and miss this year for me to trust their ability to turn the corner off one good preformance.

Let's not get too overconfident. We were absolutely s*** in the first half today and we were always good in spells under Keegan. Its the fact that we don't have any consistency that's hurting us. If we show up in Some patches of Bolton/Middlesbrough/first 20 minutes vs ManU/Blackburn/2nd half today etc. mode we will win this. If not, it's going to be quite the challenge. absolutely rancid preformance in the first half. Decent in the second. Staying up is going to be all about being able to play like we did in the second half consistently without having to go through 45 minute of what we did in the first. The impression I get from our first half v. Brum is that if we do avoid the drop, it will be because of sheer luck (pulling of a couple robberies like Blackburn did against us) and not by our own industry.
