You got me wondering what the table would look like in terms of goals per minutes played.... Pos standard Pos/Player Goals Minutes Minutes per goal 1 1 Cristiano Ronaldo 31 2746 89 2 2 Fernando Torres 24 2533 106 3 2 Emmanuel Adebayor 24 2928 122 4 11 Jermain Defoe 12 1605 134 5 5 Aiyegbeni Yakubu 15 2303 154 6 4 Roque Santa Cruz 19 3187 168 7 5 Dimitar Berbatov 15 2689 179 8 5 Robbie Keane 15 2714 181 9 11 Wayne Rooney 12 2181 182 10 9 Carlos Tevez 14 2677 191 11 5 Mwaruwari Benjani 15 2897 193 12 17 Frank Lampard 10 1954 195 13 10 John Carew 13 2546 196 14 14 Michael Owen 11 2175 198 15 17 Dean Ashton 10 2001 200 16 Obafemi Martins 9 2051 228 17 14 Nicolas Anelka 11 2575 234 18 11 Steven Gerrard 12 2840 237 19 17 Dave Kitson 10 2522 252 20 14 Gabriel Agbonlahor 11 3278 298 And Owen is still 14th. Only really shines a light on Defoe. Benjani drops too. Is 14th supposed to be good? To me, yeah. Returning from bad injury, missed few games, played under BSA, our service (esp in 442, nowt from midfield and his partner was Smith) and all. Also, we ain't gonna get anyone better than him. That's for sure So, we MUST keep him. We aren't going to get anyone better than him? I hate it when a topic about Owen gets sidetracked but look at whose name is next to 16 and you'll have my opinion of someone who's more important to the team than Owen is. We need both.

Thing is the performance of individual players (excluding Smith, who was shit throughout) has fluctuated so much based on manager, form, confidence, tactics etc. that it's difficult to judge anyone based on aggregate statistics. Although I think it's fairly obvious regardless that Butt and Smith need to go.
-
I think Fulham's getting it, but we can hope, right?
-
17 million. mackems.gif Hah, that's probably more than somebody will end up paying for Drogba himself this summer.
-
Honestly the worst player we've ever had in the Premiership. At least Pattison was just invisible, at least Boumsong and Babayaro only fucked up when an opposing player came near them with the ball. Smith, aside from being invisible himself, somehow manages to drag down the preformance of the entire team by clogging up passing flow, giving away bad fouls, and moving into bad positions to break up the team's shape. You only need to look at how him coming on for Viduka against Chelsea completely changed the flow of the game. Utterly shocking that he was playing for Man United in the Champions League as recently as last year. Right now I don't think Roeder would have him at Norwich.
-
Why, so you could sniff the saddle? What's the point, you can get a good bike for much cheaper. Waste of money. I'm just a sucker for sports memorabilia. Besides, the "getting it presented to you at SJP by the man himself" part (I assume they're doing this at a game next season) may have something to do with it as well... But like i said, it's probably going for a bit higher than my current bank account can cover.
-
finished at 36th, guess that isn't bad.
-
I think I would honestly be willing to pay several thousand quid of my own money for this. Unfortunatley, it will probably go for much higher for that.
-
considering that he's been doing the business in the German leagues for a few years already now, you'd think he'd have moved already if he was big league material.
-
This is a pretty pointless thread, but we all know we're going to be aimlessly hitting F5 on this board and all major news outlets for the next three months so might as well speculate when we'll get anything. If I had to guess, I'd say we'll only get any significant moves in July after Euros.

Palacios and Valencia would be good additions Koumas and Scharner aren't good enough though. I think Scharner is very underated, can play midfield and defence.Has played in defence of late and played there very well so therefore an improvement on any of our defenders! Koumas is more of a creative midfielder than any of our midfielders besides maybe Zog who is prob leaving anyways, would be a good squad member and would get him prob cheap enough. That Palacios is a beast but I think Utd after both him and Valencia so no chance of getting them if true! Scharner is pretty good. Wouldn't mind him either.
-
Barnes and Zarate the obvious options, Shorey not bad at all, but we've got a good left back and I don't know if either of them would be happy with being backup. Kitson or Doyle worth a punt on the cheap as backup?
-
Anelka would be a dream signing, but surely everyone else outside the top 4 would want him as well.
-
Not if they want to stay up Rough estimate, I'd say he's good enough to fight for a place at one of the promoted teams. Solid defender who doesn't make too many mistakes. He may be a horrible footballer with shocking technqiue, but he does a decent, consistent job of stopping mediocre opposition.
-
I'd be happy for days if we signed him for under 10 mil. Better player than a fit Viduka, who doesn't seem all that likely to be playing regular football in the Premiership ever again, so we need a replacement anyway.
-
have we not learned our lesson yet about signing troublemakers?
-
To be fair, at 4m and 30,000 pounds, it's not like he's costing us much money.
-
Zenit are amazing. Advocat is doing a wonderful job there. Could have Koreans starting in both the Champions League and UEFA Cup finals this year. What a treat that would be.

60% glory hunters? f*** off with that bullshit lol.. There are many, MANY more fake Manure fans in terms of sheer volume.. you and I both know more fake Manure fans than fake Chelsea ones. The Chelsea glory days are far too recent for people my age.. everyone who is my age and older and have hunted the glory from a young age support Liverpool or Manure... I despise this breed and they are far too prevalent in our society.... Globally, there are easily a dozen times more ManU glory hunters than there are people in Manchester. In fact, at 330 million, the amount of ManU glory hunters worldwide is about 5 times the population of England. Compared to Man United, Liverpool and Chelsea are nothing really in glory hunting terms. So everyone not from Manchester is a glory-hunter? That's a dangerous rationale IMO. I'd guess that the large majority were, but having percentages/stats for something like this seems too optimistic for me! I'm not saying that, obviously I wouldn't have that attitude since I'm not from Newcastle myself. It's just that that number is the only one we have, and I think it's fair to say that a large majority of that 330 million are glory hunters.
-
don't really care which group of annoying fucking bastards get the glory. Just hope it's a good show.

I feel such a girl but awww He deserves that goal Not ashamed to say I was feeling a bit misty eyed myself when he was kneeling on the ground and fighting back the tears.
-
Can't help but feel something in your heart for Lampard there regardless of your opinion of him. That was a real magic moment. btw, Torres off?!!? Does Rafa WANT to be sacked?
-
Gerrard has 11 goals and 11 assists, and has consistently been Liverpool's best player after Torres for basically every single game they play. Sure, he's apparently gash in international games (which I can't confirm since I rarely watch England,) but he's one of the best in the world at what he does on the club level. If you have eyes, why can't you see that? No idea why people hate him so much.

On a side note, how many times have we actually used our Away kit this season? Can't be more than three or four times. Have we used our third kit at all? I'm having difficulty being excited at the prospect of a new Away kit every year considering that the lads won't be wearing it more than a handful of times unless we're in Europe. Being in black/white stripes means that color clash is rarely an issue for us, so opportunities to see the away kit are few and far between.
