From what I've seen, Larsson relies on set-pieces and crossing, and doesn't offer much else. I'd much rather Cabaye taking set pieces over Larsson, so I agree that pace is probably as important as any other.

Does that include Jim White?

True, but for me, we could do with two right wingers anyway

NUFC v Arsenal - 13/8/11 - 5.30pm - Live on ESPN - MATCH ON

Independent reporting Fabregas won't play against us, so I fancy our midfield (i.e. Tiote & Cabaye) to do well here. Think the result will also depend on if and who can provide the team spirit missing from Barton & Nolan -
Pre-season specialist Haris Vučkić joins FC Twente

After Cabaye, Vuckic's pre-season performances have been genuinely uplifting through all the calamity and chaos. Really hope the lad continues to do well, and presses for a first team spot; it's great seeing someone who has a bit of flair and creativity about him. -
I think the problem with the negativity is to what extent Obertan is an addition to our squad. If - as it has been said - Obertan is an upgrade on Routledge, then I think most of us would agree it could be a good signing. After all, Routledge has had plenty of chances to prove it at this level, which he has failed to take, unlike Obertan to a certain degree. If, on the other hand, he is to be Barton's replacement, then I think we all have the right to feel underwhelmed. Yet another opportunity to show that we can sign a proven quality player for a significant fee, missed. Unfortunately, given the relative lack of investment in the squad, I have a nagging feeling that it's the latter, not the former.

Bet there wouldn't be a refund! -
Apparently he's been bullying the young players the greedy s*** c***. He's apparently got poor distribution as well. So I'm sure whoever replaces him will be an improvement in that area, at least. Whatever happens, we've definitely improved the squad this summer. Definitely. And we've got a big squad.

How much will we spend this summer (should we stay up :))? NET

No one likes a hindsight merchant IMO it just juxtaposes current feelings with pre-summer ambitions, not trying to be a 'merchant' at anything -

50 people thought we'd spend over 25 million...how gullable are we? -
Imagine if Barton really did confront one of those machines, there'd just be a constant ream of paper

That would be assuming that level of investment is fixed, and not with an owner who is paying his own loan back to himself every season Wheres the link for this? Last I'd heard more money had been paid into the club, not taken out but a couple of posts have indicated the money is being taken out so I'd like to see where this has come from http://www.nufcblog.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Accounts.jpg

Genuinely nice to see the lad banging the goals in though

Pardew in the morning: "The emergence of Sammy Ameobi is like a new signing"
-
Tiote's visa rescinded Surely not!
-
Pardew has been told that he can use all of the money generated from bartons free transfer to sign new players(y) There's no such thing as a free transfer anymore, people don't realise how much it costs to clean a locker out, reconfigure the seating arrangements, removing photos from the club shop

Surely you're not suggesting that we go for players with no intention of actually buying them

At least one good things comes of all this...our favourite Not-ITK will finally be outed as the bull-peddler he is

Never underestimate this regime's ability to do the inexplicable. Mind you, if we do go out now and sign good replacements for all these outgoings, I will humbly apologise for the negativity; I'd love to be proven wrong, I think we all would

Yes, apologies for not posting the link.
