Hmm not sure, in the bar I was just propping it up, I never sat down. We just came in to get warm, I took some photos with my phone too so I'll try and stick some up if I can... edit: heres where I sat http://img526.imageshack.us/img526/4531/dsc00033xg8.th.jpg

Wullie, honestly man, the world has changed and so has football since then. The Prem was not even near the best league in the world in 96. Its only recently that we've been able to claim that. For the record, i'll support Kev to the hilt but i am worried about this. i'm not so worried about the football world having changed, i'm more worried about the fact keegan's changed. does he still have the hunger, passion and patience to build a club from the bottom up. waking up today i wonder if he'll feel overwhelmed or overjoyed, hopefully the latter. got serious reservations about his appointment but there's also a part of me that is hugely excited, more than i would've been by any other manager out there. The last time he was here, the bottom of the club was irrelevant to him. Things change.

As Newcastle supporters, we all have that in-built sense that things could go wrong at anytime so don't think you're alone in that sense. We're all in shock at the moment and are just showing our support in these crazy times. We all know whats wrong with the team at the moment and so do Chris and Mike, thus so now does KK. I'm personally excited at the prospect of big spending at some point, which I'm sure everyone is but we need to sit tight for a little bit. People here would be lying if they expected things to suddenly get all rosey and us to dramatically fly into the top 6 within weeks. Its just not going to happen. Yes, times have changed and so has KK and we're just going to have to go with the flow initially and sit tight on the rollercoaster KK will get more time then most but he knows more than anyone whats expected of him so I'm sure hes here to rectifiy whats happened in the past. I'm excited to see how this pans out and we should all expect the unexpected, just like we've done for years at this club. Bring it!

Aye LFEE, I totally didn't believe you and have now put you in the 'members to listen to' section, heh I guess you could hardly complain at people not believing stuff like this as we've had so many rumours, bets, speculation over the past week we've all gone mental with it all Nice work

Yeah, there was a bar right next to us, which was nice and cozy warm after sitting out in the cold, seemed relatively posh in there too

Yeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!! Back to finish the job, hopefully with more resources then he could wish for now with Mike putting all of his faith behind KK ----------- Also says Given seems immediately overjoyed by his return http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_3054176,00.html Shay Given expects the good times to return to Newcastle now that Kevin Keegan is back in charge. The Magpies announced on Wednesday that Keegan would be returning for a second spell at St James' Park and the news appears to have lifted the whole club. The new boss was in the stands to see his side cruise to a 4-1 victory over Stoke in their FA Cup third round replay and goalkeeper Given has told how the return of the former England coach has got everyone at the club dreaming again. Huge lift "The hairs stood up on the back of my neck," he told Sky Sports News. "It gave everyone a huge lift before tonight's game. "You dream like the fans dream that Kevin Keegan would come back and maybe Alan (Shearer) would come back as well. "But until it was announced today, you thought it was just a dream. "Everyone's pinching themselves around the north east tonight. The dream's come true. Work to do "Kevin Keegan has a lot of work to do with the squad and the team but hopefully there are exciting times ahead. "We hope to get back to where we were the last time (he was in charge). He nearly won the league. "Everyone remembers the entertaining football we used to play under Kevin Keegan. Hopefully we can do that and get the right results as well." "With him in charge I think we are heading in the right direction."

For the record, i'll support Kev to the hilt there's also a part of me that is hugely excited, more than i would've been by any other manager out there. Same. I'll say I had my reservations before today but I never thought I'd be truly excited like I'm feeling now. Its like the other 'in love' thread - I totally agree, I've never been very excited about managerial appointments in the past tbh but right now I'm buzzing

Huge numbers of people outside SJP, cars beeping their horns all over the place, me jumping around the house singing "Keegan wonderland", my phone going every 2 minutes, me frantically trying to get tickets. Madness. No other man could generate this kind of buzz and for those who have never experienced this buzz, let me tell you when KK was here first time as manager, it was as special as the football we played. I actually feel sorry for those who won't be in the city during all this. Tonight we would have been lucky to get 25.000 through the door, tonight you will do well to get a ticket. That's what adding KK's name to NUFC does, it's the differance between a half empty stadium or a full one. It's the difference between KK and every other manager we've had. He's special and I am fucking delighted he's back. Aye aye it's daft and probably wrong, but I don't give a fuck what other fans think, what the media think or a stuff about logic and reason. I am sitting at my desk with the hairs on the back of my neck tingling. Welcome back King Kev. Well heres my night tonight - I stood in disbelief at the news when my mate told me Keegan was back, I refused to belief him and we all sat there going: >Holy shit man........he's back!......well what should we do, I don't know what to do with myself now, do you? -No way, fucking hell lets go for a drink or something!! >Ok, well lets go out to a local (i'm studying in mackemville) -Fuck that, this place will have the least buzz about it imaginable at this news, lets get on the metro to St.James and hang outside of the stadium for a laugh like those mongs you see on SSN and see if theres much going on eh? >Aye, then go to a pub after if we get bored... *Gets on Metro, get off and actually run to the Stadium haha....notice loads of toon fans sprinting there too, get there.........fucking hell!* It was bedlam outside the ground so we walked around and thought maybe we'd take it all in but then realised tickets were suddenly going like hotcakes! So we queued up for 20 mins, got in and the general atomosphere was great, lots of smiles and talk of the man himself. I suddenly became 10 years younger......GREAT night

Well firstly I bought a ticket and when I went to sit in GG 0107 behind one of the goals I found a season ticket holder was in my seat so chatted with a steward who took me to a bit with empty seats that seemed good for me. I'm afraid this was my first time in the stadium since it held 36,000 so I don't know all the correct names but this pic is basically my view: http://www.fussballtempel.net/uefa/ENG/St_James_Park2.jpg Didn't miss a goal and enjoyed myself. Lost my voice now like :icon_biggrin:

It was class wasn't it? Another point I could say was that I don't really remember seeing one long ball ALL NIGHT which I found really positive. It was all played on the turf and we created lots of chances. The opposition may not have been good enough but the difference seemed massive to me, the way they played and just attacked. Plus I got in for £15 with student discount and managed to score some really nice seats. Top night!
-
I've just back from them atch too, only my 2nd EVER toon match - last was in the 36k and it was fantastic for me MINT match and a great buzz around the stadium tonight! We destroyed them from start to finish, special mentions for Duff, Zog and Milner who were immense. All could've had MotM. Everyone played well. I was so pissed off when Emre was sent off because from my position it looked alright and never worthy of a straight red but I'd need to see replays of course The work starts here Kev and we're all behind you! (god I've lost my voice after shouting all night, hah)
