  1. I can't wait until after the initial 5-6 matches of the season have passed because hopefully our fitness levels will be up there and thats when the new players are more in contention. We'll just have to be patient with potential niggling injuries until then
  2. Exactly. And if anyone needs to know what Ramage brings to the team then just ask AS9
  3. Sorry if its been mentioned but is Enrique starting this match? Has Sam mentioned him at all? Really want to see him play and get stuck in like a bull
  4. I think we've all hit the point in the transfer window where we just want our squad done and dusted. A bit of closure will be nice come Sept 1st and we can all just relax a bit from all of the fun of the silly season Keep telling yourselves: Last summer - Sibierski, Bernard, Rossi. Then a little grin might might appear Get mr Faye in asap and then we can settle down and plan out matches properly with all players accounted for 8)
  5. You have to be kidding. You are talking about a bloke who has never, ever, ever, ever looked interested in playing for us IMO Would you blame him if he looked miserable? Roeder did fuck all for his confidence. I'd be down in the dumps if I was seeing the likes of Pattison, Shola, Carrol, etc being played in front of me EVEN during a terrible injury ravaged season. You'd surely think what the fuck have I done wrong? He could of gotten back into the team this season but if Ajax came in and offered you a guranteed place, after showing they have faith in you, surely you'd have jumped at the chance? Theres more to it then playing passionately in front of 52k fans. Family life, team mates, the press; all questioning the £10m fee when you can't even get the chance to show them. His role as a sub all the time certainly must've gotten him down even more.........it jus all builds up and kicks your confidence, especially with a muppet like Roeder handling it all. Anyway, I'd rather him gone and out of our hands now. Time to move on and in retrospect we'll look back at the situation and learn from it.
  6. You mean 2moro? Yeah, I'd skip around like a loon if he did
  7. I hope he does because hes extremely valuable to the team
  8. I'm a bit sickened at letting him go for free but thats life. One person I don't blame at all for this is Luque himself. I blame Roeder who never picked him, even playing fucking Fattison in front of him. I won't cry a river but I actually feel sorry for the guy as he was never given a proper chance, a run in the team longer than 5 games. Either way, its history now and Big Sam would never have treated a player like that. Time to move on and get behind the new-look Newcastle
  9. RIP Ray Jones. Tragic way to go
  10. http://img206.imageshack.us/img206/159/010278337344800uz4.gif I wouldn't buy it but I like it :toothy:
  11. I think its pretty nice altho I agree I'd much prefer to see the short sleeve of it Its not like we'll see it much so ney botha pet
  12. Who said that then, Sam himself? or some dodgy journalist/secret ghost insider/local tramp......

    Enrique

......that "M" word is forbidden on this forum.......wash yer mouth out!!
  14. Jesus christ james, get a grip.
  15. Exactly. As long as theres people with a bit of common sense, patience and ability to see the bigger picture then they'll mostly keep the doom mongers at bay. We'll need plenty of those kinds of people on this forum to remain positive over the season, fingers crossed the fickle few don't get the better of a potentially fantastic future ahead of us
  16. So Barcelona have a player worse than Stephen Carr at something with regard to football? Hmm. Of course, Andy Hunter knows everything innit. Really hope we pull this transfer off personally because he could in theory play on the wing as well as right back which again brings so much versatility. You don't get in the current Barcelona by being a total mug. We need a now player, not so much a future player who will come good in a few years time. We can get a youngster anytime. This possible signing, along with Faye, would sort out our defence completely and the only position we may need at some point is a creative midfielder but I feel thats a luxury right now as we've got in some high quality players this summer. We've not even seen Enrique, Cacapa or Barton yet :icon_biggrin:
  17. If Rozehnal's shot had went in I would've gone nuts, good save from a cracking shot! That would've changed it all but I'm happy really, its steady progress and positive things can taken from the game BRING ON THE BORO
  18. After 2 matches? I'm sure he's listening.
  19. If you take a look at our subs we really had zero midfield options: Subs: Forster, Ramage, Cacapa, Shola, Owen Therefore I think thats the reason nothing much happened today and our midfield was the main problem. We could only shift around our already playing midfield so there was no surprise midfielder coming off the bench to create a magic chance or 2. We could bring on Shola and Owen again and again but if theres no creative midfielder to accompany/help them out once they're on then I doubt much will come of it. Villa defended stoutley and sometimes you need a bit of magic to light the fire (wtf).............if you get what I mean
  20. Im not being negative its the truth and two many people thought we would win easily and had to high ecpectations just because we won a game not saying we will finish there just saying we will get a few games like this. SUPERTOON, you are surely on the most knee-jerk-tastic members on here. Villa are a boring side, they always have been and they usually tend to grind out boring draws and stifle entertaining football. At least we remain unbeaten but I think O'neil may have won the battle of tactics this game as they defended well, as did we, the entire match. I think eventually we'll need a 'Deco type' player at some stage to open up games like these but who knows, Emre may be that very player as hes approaching full fitness. Bring on the next game I say, we'll learn from this match in various ways
  21. :celb: :celb: Aye this is amazing, I've been smiling like a proper kid all week. Heres the article posted in .com in case people missed it, also mentions Dyers price: Speaking to the Chronicle on Saturday, Newcastle Chairman Chris Mort revealed that owner Mike Ashley had made a sizeable step to reducethe club's debt burden - and also confirmed the figure that Dyer was sold for: “We’ve been looking to reduce debt levels ever since we took over. Mike put in £30m this week to bring the debt levels down, which is a great thing for the club. “The debt is partly due to money already being spent, which you would expect to earn as future income. “It can be replaced, but it’s obviously money we’d rather be spending on players, rather than sorting out the club’s finances generally. “There is still some debt left, but it’s been brought down to a much more manageable level. “Then of course you have the Kieron Dyer deal going through this week, for which we got £7m (whether that figure includes the sell-on clause fee due to Ipswich is unclear). I’m pleased for Kieron that he could get the move he’s been after. “It doesn’t quite work that the money from the Dyer transfer gets put straight back into buying players. “We would be doing transfer deals anyway regardless of this. We’ll continue to invest in the club. “We’re still looking for one or two more additions, and that was the case whether Kieron was going or not. “If you look at the squad, we’re incredibly strong up front and in midfield, but we might add more depth at the back. We’ve put together a strong defence over the summer, so I’m not worried. But it would help to have a bit more depth. “We’re expecting a crowd of more than 50,000 and I think there’ll be a fabulous atmosphere. “I’m hoping the crowd will be as noisy as possible. We want the fans to get behind the team. “At Bolton we had such fantastic support. It really makes such a difference to the team. They have the ability to help us get the right result. “And that was a relatively smaller group of supporters, I cannot imagine what it will be like with a full house at St James’ Park. “We’re keen for people to get to the ground a bit earlier than normal because we have a new turnstile system in place. “It’s not that there are any problems with the system, it’s been tried and tested, but it will be slightly different for the supporters and something they need to get used to. We don’t want them to miss any of the match. “I’ve been to a meeting of the Premier League chairmen this week and I got a good welcome from the others. It was an open opportunity to have some in-depth talks.”
