Rosenhal said something similar iirc. True. When you're captain of a team you've played so long for, when people respect and admire you and you lead out your team every week in sunny france, you wouldn't be too desperate to leave either. We've put in our offer so now its just up to Marseille really. The player is happy, like Rozenhal was but we'd be a new and exciting challenge in a new league, backed by a billionairre. I think he'd be happy either way.

This made me laugh when I woke up today Jesus christ, talk about a lack of ambition! they've signed some shite like, can't wait until we play them
-
Would be happy with Beye, even though I know nowt about him. stick his name in youtube, theres a comp called 'beye' that has a bunch of footage, gives you an idea

£3.1m, another bargain in my book. Hes a big, physical right back who has a bit of pace about him. Also him being captain of Marseille says big things about him, very happy with this signing (hopefully its nearly past the post!) If so, then 2 LBs, at least 1 CB and an attacking mF left on the shopping list

As long as Raul, Deco and Kaka can agree to adapt to new positions, I don't see why Eto'o, Shevchenko and Adriano can't work together up front effectively for us

Actually, do SSN do a 'tomorrows papers' bit soon? is it usually around midnight? I may pop down to see what they are......yep, I'm that bored

I've always wanted City to do better than they have done. Stems down to the fact I grew up hating Man Utd I guess, hehe and I've always wanted the 2 clubs to be a lot more balanced then they have been. Man Utd have always had the press in Manchester but now hopefully City will spring a few surprises in the near future. Beating Man Utd a few times would put the fans faith right back in their team and move them forward. As long as they don't beat us in the league this season, I hope they stay in the top half of the table and fend off the crappy fulhams/villas/pompeys

I like Pompeys keeper strip and Derby's looks almost Real'ish...

Jesus, I just woke at 2pm today haha and this is quite a story to read about. First off I'm going to just ignore the Et'oo talk and concentrate on the Deco news. I think Deco is a player we REALLY need. He is very creative, has tons of flair, tricks and can score goals aswell as provide them on a plate to our strikeforce. I'd go ballistic if we signed him! If we were to sign Deco, then we'd need to just concentrate fully on defensive signings for the rest of the window. As our Austrain reporters mentioned, one of our medical staff said we may be getting 4-5 more players, so once Deco joined, we'd be signing 3-4 more defenders. If this did happen I'd piss myself with warm satisfaction

we need two LW's and we need one who's actually proved himself in the premiership Not if we're playing 4-3-3. And who cares if he's proved himself in the Premiership? He was abysmal last season and is on the downfall. And aye, he was s**** last season, but N'Zogbia's proved he can play in the Premiership aswell. it's nowt personal, i'd love to argue with four people lets be honest he hasn't proved himself in the premiership I enjoy a good debate (wonder who'll be first to 'FYP' me), but i don't have a hope in hellers against four people who disagree with me. I'm just not intelligent enough. Proved himself isn't the term, but N'Zogbia's shown that he's definitely up to it when it comes to playing in the Premiership, as he was good in 04/05 and very good in 05/06. 'Proved himself' is probably one notch higher in the scale, but he's up to it. No question for me. Just needs some guidance. And he'll get that with Sam. With a more stable background the club has to stand on at the moment, I think we'll see a lot more common sense when it comes to handling players. Not just by Sam but all of the new (and hopefully old) staff hopefully.

Same here, does everyone think there'll be a lot more bite to the premiership this year? With so much money / expectations / rivalries reunited, I think we could be in for a stormer! oh and I laughed out loud at this, hahaa
-
With all these big changes, I can't fucking wait to see how each team does this year, looks very exciting for many fans of different teams. If we keep our strikerforce in tact I think it will be something a bit special like

One of the greatest and most exciting football talents I've ever seen, would love to see him back on form Gan orn Ronny!
-
I hope he is. On another note, this has surely been posted yea? "Arsenal are in advanced negotiations to sign Obafemi Martins from Newcastle United - The Sun" total lie?

Seems like a mix between angry teenagers and old twisted/bitter losers are a requirement to stay on that forum then, eh...

Didn't Bridge sign a new contract last season though? What kind of fee are we talking about here?

Yep and its only the 3rd of July so we and Sam have plenty of time to address all of the areas. I doubt much will happen this week seeing the squad are relaxing in Austria so just put your feet up and feel reassured they know they're doing -
Can we sticky this? I find checking clubs boards after we played them to be most interesting blueyes.gif

I still think that once you have a reliable and influential Centre Back playing behind you then it will relieve so much pressure on those in front of him, so I chose CB because we've needed a star there for god knows how many years now...

I agree with James although we'd have to have a seriously well drilled and strong back three to cope in the premiership. Also you have to take into account that during a match we won't have to play in a 3-5-2 and stick with it the whole match. Depending on how the game goes we can shape back to 4-4-2 at any time meaning it keeps the opposition on their toes and shows how well we are to adapting to 2 different systems. Like its been said, Sam seems to be targeting players who can adapt and are generally considered strong in a variety of positions which can only mean good things when it comes to shifts in formations
