Exactly. No financial risk for us at all too at under £1m. How old is he?
  2. I'd rather see Parker here but to be honest I wouldn't be devasted if he left. Last season he seemed quite limited despite his efforts and has been one of the most committed players I've seen. He just creates very little, has a weak shot and scores very few... I'm confident we can replace him and if that has to be Barton, thats fine with me. £8.5m will be very useful indeed.
  3. I hope we keep both and utilize them correctly. We need to have a deep squad next season and they'll be vital at times. Hopefully we will hoist Dyer and buy an attacking midfielder to compliment their play. Although no-one knows whats going to happen this summer, so its a case of wait and see.

Good shout. Think we should get Kingston in, heard nothing but good reports about him in Scotland and seems a very dynamic player and a bit of a cult hero to boost. The Russian club that owns him only want about 500k for him which would be worth a gamble in anyones book. Because our last superstar signing from Scotland turned out well. In my opinion we shouldn't go anywhere near someone who hasn't proven himself in a decent league yet. Hardly costing £8m is he? Should we wait untill he proves himself and the the price becomes extorinate? It's not like were exactly short of cash now is it. If we are aiming for the CL in the next few years we should not be going for this type of player. When did you last see one of the top 4 signing a player with his sort of background. Also it seems utterly bizarre Sam would want a new DM when we have Butt and Parker who we know are very capable DM and most likely miles better than this guy from Hearts and that Boateng. Sam showed at Bolton that you can only take a team of cheap imports so far before you hit a brick wall. This is the kind of attitude that takes us backward
  5. They mentioned Boateng on the Tyne Tees news (not exactly the best source but...) and they also mentioned Ben Haim and Curtis Davies who WB value at £10m. If we have the dosh, get em in

    Oba AWOL again

    Short memory aswell?
  7. Impatience has been rotting this club for so long now. Hopefully Mike and Sam will exterminate them with weed killer and plant some fresh flowers for the future I personally feel the local papers can have a lot to do with it. I wish they were more restrained and blocked from so much intrusion into daily life at NUFC. Is it me or do our players talk to the papers every day, do other clubs have it so bad? I mean as in 'Shola: This morning I had Weetabix but next season all I'll be eating are GOALS for breakfast' They ask the same old crap questions and its as if the players have no choice but to answer em all. Why can't they just ignore the press, get on with training and do their talking on the pitch, if you'll excuse the cliche. I cringe at every chronicle/journal shitty exclusive at what Nobby or Given say before a match.......'We'll have to put last Saturday behind us and win it for our super fans on Wednesday!'................then they lose again....repeat x 30 times > Goin off the topic a bit but its what really annoys me..
  8. Its just the beginning of the spending I think. We had a thin squad all of last season and now with those 5 players released, we're down to barely nothing. I see this as the start of much bigger buys but the 2-3 players mentioned already I see as ready-made quick buys that can play straight into the team. In the future, as said, we'll have our structure sorted, money at the ready and more time to cherry pick the future stars from Europe.
  9. What do you think about signing Joey Barton? Obviously he has a bit of a temper but I'm hoping Sam could curb that and we could get to see some excellent football from the lad as we know hes capable TBH if SA cant control him we can just sell him on, He is a good player and we need a midfielder who knows how to get forward. How many has Barton got this season? 7 I'd be happy with the 3 of them and all that for, as mentioned, about 3m or so. If we have about £40m then god knows how well we could do next season. Skys the limit in a way.............depending on how this board meeting goes from tomorrow, fingers crossed

    Oba AWOL again

I've seen enough of Martins this season to tell you he's not a £10million player. His attitude shown in the last ten games was a disgrace, culminating in his no show at Watford. We'd have been passing the mackems on the way up if it wasn't for him so i think he deserves a chance, hasn't exactly been surrounded by class this season has he, and I'm not just on about him being up front on his jack jones Exactly. People need to stand back from things every now and then to see the bigger picture. Hes done great in his 1st season and this coming season he'll be even better. Hes settled in the area, got to know the team, the language and hopefully he'll have a lot more quality playing around him next season with support up front too. But oh no, he was a little hit and miss in the last 5 games so LETS SELL HIM! ........Jesus Christ, impatient knuckleheaded knee jerking morons. Patience is what this club has rarely had and so desperately needs. If you have none then I sincerely hope you go elsewhere......

  12. Ooh 2 now you say, who says so? I'd be well pleased with both
  13. Hmm, so chelsea are without big funds anymore, arsenal on their way down and we now could have a new owner willing to pump a lot more money into us then the Glazers do at Man Utd............. Time for us to spend big and win the league then!
  14. The Chronicle Newspaper (local Newcastle paper)
  15. Does the transfer window apply to free transfers too though? I'm not sure
  16. Good News in a generally confusing week. I really hope it is Ben Haim, been a fan of his for a while now and for free, all the better

    Oba AWOL again

This is the SECOND time he's done this - your acceptance of this sort of behaviour by NUFC players is exactly why this club has achieved so little over the past 40 years - too much tolerance of second-best and UNPROFESSIONALISM... Well actually for the Watford game he rung up Freddy Shephard later that day and explained it was a total misunderstanding which Freddy said himself. I can get the link to that if you like. And this time its for Nigeria and nobody knows why hes absent yet, so we'll just have to wait and see before we jump to any conclusions.

    Oba AWOL again

he has done it before though, he can't constantly find excuses all the time. When. Just at Watford? so thats, hmm, twice now? STRING HIM UP! As for Whitley Bay, thats the only logical explaination so far, showing off his thighs to the ladieezz..

    Oba AWOL again

People have such short memories. I'm sure there will be a valid explaination for this but oh no, all of the knee-jerkers are instantly GET RID NOW, OBA OUT. What a joke. None of you know why hes absent for Nigeria but you still jump to conclusions and stamp your feet on the ground
  20. Ban who. Take a look at this. http://www.tmcnet.com/usubmit/-irish-bookies-take-gbp10m-punt-sunderland-/2007/04/13/2507216.htm (The Northern Echo Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge) SUNDERLAND'S new sponsors have revealed how the club's Champions League aspirations helped seal one of the most lucrative sponsorship deals outside the top four English clubs. "I see Sunderland as Premier League winners, Champions League winners, " said Boyle, :idiot2: :idiot2: :idiot2: Jesus. Talk about Hype-tastic.........everyone needs to walk the walk before they can talk the talk ...did I just say that? crikey...
  21. If this all pans out to be mostly true, I'm going to PISS MYSELF WITH EXCITEMENT!!!!!!!!! :celb: :celb: :celb: :celb: :celb: :celb: :celb:
  22. I feel the way you lot are making fun of the scousers losing is quite unsporting................. .................BUT VERY NECESSARY!!!!!!!! mackems.gif mackems.gif mackems.gif mackems.gif mackems.gif mackems.gif    :D    ;D ;D ;D
  23. What a plonker wum.. You certainly believe everything you read it seems. His backroom staff have proven to be good enough in the past and he has built up a solid friendship/working relationship with them over a number of years. You can buy in some of the best staff in the world but theres no gurantee they'll all like each other and gel as a unit at a new club. Some of the Bolton staff are also coming to the end of their contracts right now so its no harm in asking if they're available. In any case, don't you want Newcastle to become successful? I'd love to know what you'd do in his position right now.

    Owen

I know right! Also coming from the Times who Owen has a column with so it is pretty promising. Still think Big Sam will not play two littleuns upfront judging from his history at Bolton, and so if Owen remains Oba might be out. Why is it that 1 player always has to fucking go in some people's eyes? Can we not have both at the same time, is that so out of the question............jesus christ, players get injured all the time and similar players play well together at many different clubs. Its not like if we play both, then we're suddenly at a massive disadvantage.
