Christmas is underrated? Does he fucking want Black Friday and Christmas ads to start in June or something? Hope his horses find justice.

My 25 year association with the club fucked off with him. He represented everything I love about the game, and returned that feeling only Keegan and Robson could give.

Pulisic, Adams, McKennie, Reyna Don't forget Dest. Easily the best crop of talent the US has ever had.

Beckenbauer has to be in the Top 5 for me. Easily one of the most intelligent players to ever grace the game, and invented the libero role, and in so many ways, ushered in modern tactics. The only reason he'd be left out is because of his position. He and Maldini would be the first two defenders I'd pick by a country mile. I was absolutely lucky to see Beckenbauer, Cruyff, and Neeskens play on the same pitch back in the NASL days, but was too young to have anything but fragmented memories. I do remember Cruyff going through players like they were in another dimension though. Was absolutely absurd how much better those three and the likes of George Best were than the rest of the league. Speaking of George Best, if you want to see how much better he was than everyone else apart from the above three, check out his goal for the Earthquakes against Fort Lauderdale. They should have banned him from the league after that. Laudrup should get more love tbh. Marco van Basten was probably the most complete striker I've ever seen if we are going to look at greats from a particular field, but the likes of Maradona were dominating every area of the pitch. Even man marking didn't seem to stop him, defenders had to resort to hacking him down, and I'm not talking about the shirt pulls or trips we see in today's game which is marshalled much more strictly, in those days the idea of a dangerous tackle was not even a concept. Tbf Laudrup could pretty much dominate everywhere on the pitch, and was used everywhere in the midfield, and even as a striker occasionally. Don't think Batistuta was too far behind van Basten in completeness as far as strikers go. But I agree with you. I'd still put Maradona above them all by some distance. His presence in the 86 and 90 World Cups were rightly considered legendary, but frankly only he could have made Napoli an absolute force within a season. The dude was worth half a team. I mean FFS he was a Time Bandit and still was miles better than anyone else because of supernatural balance, and an unmatched reading of the game. van Basten was gifted with all of the physical attributes Maradona didn't have, but it's absolutely no question who was the better player.

Works his arse off basically. He does bring other players into the game, but yeah his finishing is wasteful. Aye 7 goals in 11 games is piss poor... You can still score goals and be wasteful brother. I’m not your brother I'm not your friend, buddy.

Both of them, sublime players The second best goal of the 98 World Cup behind Bergkamp's against Argentina was Ebbe Sand's against Nigeria. Laudrup's chip assist was just fucking ridiculous. The vision and skill was just on another level. Watching him play, it was like he already watched the game in the future and studied everyone else's moves and positions to death. It was almost cheating.

FFS. That England game truly encapsulates who he was. I was only 11 and watching on a shitty tv, but that is one of my clearest sporting memories. What a mad bastard. And what a legend. RIP to the GOAT.

We’re still recovering from his dreadful tactics and refusal to sign Perez and rondon. In the immortal words of David St. Hubbins, "they were still booing him when we came on."

They’re not shit, average, yes. See them under Benitez, R. There’s just an absolute absence of anything resembling tactics and motivation now Disagree Dummet,Lascelles,Shelvey,Ki are all shit Rafa just had them drilled so they seemed to perform better in a team Joelinton looks a fucking donkey and Almiron cant score Fucking great eh Lascelles is good, the rest are average. Far too early for Joelinton especially with a dog turd of a manager Lascelles is not good man fucking wake up Rafa Out? Be careful what you wish for.

How can something be predictable when it doesn't precede anything though? After 18 games if the same mistakes that cost us today are happening, then yes, predictable, but after the first game? I'm not sure that makes much sense. Fwiw there was some promising signs in the first half today in our play and a few players in particular caught the eye. I'll choose to not plummet into abject misery just yet. You're far too sensible. You're completely wasting your time though. They've been waiting all summer for something to go crazy over. Even though they all claim not to care anymore. You can be such an idiot at times. This is the most relaxed a fair few of us probably have been about a season. I just find it quite bizarre that some people treat this as some sort of clean slate every season with the "let's just see what happens" mentality. Ashley has steered this club from one catastrophe to the next. Losing Benitez was one such catastrophe, and he just compounded tenfold it by appointing Bruce. Their records speak for themselves. Pretending today's game was the worst we've ever seen and it proves all the players signed are terrible is so ridiculous, and going on and on about it in the match thread is tedious and stupid. It is immature and childish and it s completely ruining the forum. You do not have to do that all the damned time to prove you no longer support the club. If you cannot understand that. You sir, are the idiot. You could just as well say that a lot of people are bored of your obsession with putting a positive spin on everything just to stand out. Going on and on about it in every thread is tedious and stupid. It is immature and childish and it's completely ruining the forum. However, this is a forum where people share opinions, so I won't say it. Except I don't do that do I? You guys just lie all the time to suit your narrative man. It's so terrible. I admire the positivity, and have said as much in the past. I don't, however, think people are lying to suit their narrative. Your reputation for bipolar posts was not created in a vacuum.
