i've been saying this for a while, as a professional football manager he should be doing everything he can to win every single game regardless of what the owner says....it's also not been lost on me that as a footballer he's only remembered for playing/scoring in a big FA cup game, the sackless fucking stooge can't even be arsed to give his own players a chance at such memories he is everything a footballer manager should not be

he's watched his old hammer horror films it seems

this is a good point, i say don't come with the business chelp when ashley isn't even bothering to run the business side with a view to to success....i'm 100% sure everyone here could handle that tbh, because running a football club as a business to succeed would mean that there was at least a modicum of effort to improve matters on the field and progress all sides of the entity as it is the football club is being run on a premier league life support machine to keep it alive but in a permanent vegetative state for use as a vehicle to advertise ashley's shops, i'm not really sure that there's a valid alternative to this opinion is there, is it even arguable at this stage?

Winnet Sports claim Glenn Hoddle linked with DOF role
mrmojorisin75 replied to Paully's topic in Football
fuck me, had no recollection he'd even gone to wolves DoF role i have no issue with, you'd have to wonder if he ended manager like -
well, assuming this is all there is to the story (which is a big leap imho) then there's very little else pardew could do now to get sacked, perhaps take a shit on the pitch while the game is going on vs villa

holy fucking shit man

we could be about to find out tbh
-
Ah, wasn't clear and he's been pretty ok towards pardiola on the past. He's right like.
-
Is he? I saw a tweet just now where he's saying the problems are the same as last year and then were solved by signing players. The implication being none of it is pardew's fault. Again.

Totally agree. I'm at the point of wanting us to get beat every single game now. Last night I found myself wanting Spurs to get a 5th and 6th toward the end. Its the only way any sort of positive change is going to happen at the club. This is great, we can look even worse and stll have Pardew stinking up the place safe in his job. Aye sounds fucking ace that logic i don't know how i feel about "wishing" for defeats myself tbh, i don't myself however i certainly feel a sustained run of shitness is all that will see pardew away...seeing pardew away is step 1 in the change process for me really as regards him hanging on i'm not really so sure this time, we could realistically be looking at a very, very poor run to the end of the season and a finish out of the top 10 is very possible at this stage, i'm really not convinced he'll survive that this time after the amount of flannel he's given about the europa league being the excuse last year he's got literally nothing to defend him now in the eyes of ashley, maybe the sale of cabaye but if that's enough for ashley to accept how shit the man is then we all might as well pack it in now and save the money for our bairns to go along when ashley dies Point is that we know football doesnt work like that, Remy, Colo & Tiote etc will come back and results will improve to around average/poor til the summer and we wont acheive a single thing as fans for sitting doing nowt but wishing for defeats except wasting more time and money. Wishing acheives nothing at all otherwise this post would be sent from a beach somewhere not a cold office. What're you saying, there should be marches and shit? Not sure you're right about those players coming back and saving him, he's back in the dark cave of insanity and fail from last season, the only teams we're likely to take points from are those that beat themselves. Fortunately for the cunt we might be facing one next. -

It's a massive, massive problem. I do agree, but what passion/commitment that is there in the players has been eroded and nullified. The lack of ambition from the top down has washed away a culture which can sustain professional pride, I can't see how it couldn't tbh. I'm not as convinced our first XI is as poor, ability wise, as they've been showing lately. Cabaye is a fucking huge loss though, and our balance has been thrown the fuck off without him. Still, our first XI is only a few players short of being a pretty decent outfit that can compete well with most teams. Well, in theory anyway if not with Pardew. Beneath that, we're a long, long way off a top four squad. I'm beginning to think Cabaye was the only one knitting the side together, he was our outstanding player by a country mile and our form and results has basically been linked to if he was playing and how well he was playing. Without him the entire team is lost and we've lost any and all creativity in the centre of midfield, Tiote's good at what he does but it ain't anything that will be in anyway positive in the final third (we've also missed him badly in the last 2 games) Anita-what the hell does he actually do? He doesn't win the ball he has fuck all ability to create something what is the point of him? Sissoko is what he is, a player with tremendous physical attributes not so many technical attributes. Throw in a lack of natural width full backs who can't defend to save their lives and the strikers the club actually owns being worth the square root of fuck all its not in anyway surprising when you take out the outstanding player in the side and refuse to even bother to replace him that our form nosedives. No offence, but if you've not known that was the case since about Cabaye's third or fourth game for us, you weren't watching carefully enough. I got that he was important but christ I didn't think the entire team would look like poor league 1 players without him there. Looked fine against Norwich (without a finishing touch) before Pardew had his style-of-play epiphany. One of the best 45 minutes I've seen from an NUFC side without scoring for a long time in fact. Also Norwich have looked handy since, so it's not like they're in horrendous form or can't play at all. I love these. Remember the last one before we played Spurs? Got beat 5-0. Was at that one, wanted to go home after 20 minutes. I see your Bale and Lennon, I raise you a high line with no pressure in midfield. Agonisingly true could be wrong but didn't that end up being the fans fault too, pards was bowing to pressure to be more attacking or something wasn't he? -
if history is anything to go by during these breaks the likelihood is ashley will have appointed vinnie jones the new DoF by the time we see villa

I've got a great many thoughts on why this is, but in the main I think the fact that he doesn't buy his own players is, for many, a complete get-out-of-jail-free card. If a player was shit under Robson, or any other manager, it was because the manager had bought a shit player - manager's fault. As someone who has posted on here for more than ten years now, it always strikes me how little we hear it now on this forum because of the way we are now run. Every manager used to be judged more than anything else on who they had bought. Endless discussions on potential future managers usually ended up with people just listing a particular manager's transfer hits and misses. Robson - bought some crap (I have seen dozens of pro-Robson posts over the years be met with a response of "wasn't that good, bought Viana, Cort and Bramble") Souness - bought some crap Roeder - bought some crap Allardyce - bought some crap Pardew - hasn't bought any crap (unless you give him credit for Obertan) A huge amount of football supporters (and even a lot of the press) seem to have a hard time grasping that a manager's job extends to much more than a) buying players and b) picking the team (actually that's not true about the press, they'll acknowledge a manager's positive effect but if it's shit, they'll blame the players but I digress). Pardew only has responsibility for one of those and because he gets off completely scot-free on that charge, that basically lets him get away with anything because it also gets him off charge b) in a roundabout way. He consistently fails to get the best out of, say, the Acronym Brothers, MYM and HBA, so drops them, getting away with selecting the wrong personnel without any finger ultimately pointing at him because he didn't buy them. He can make every single talented player look like total shit and then hold his hands up saying "not my fault, I didn't choose this rubbish". But suggestion that a manager might affect their performances has scorn quickly poured all over it, after all they're paid enough to take responsibility for themselves. You hear it all the time - "Don't blame Pardew, what could he have done differently today?" - coached the team to a competent standard over a 3-year period perhaps? But people think you've got a screw loose if you think he's doing anything wrong beyond what team he picked and what subs he makes, as if it's some sort of paranoid conspiracy theory to suggest that maybe the manager could possibly have any sort of effect on the performances of the players before or after he's written their names on the teamsheet. nail on head after the latest mackems "game" i was chatting with a lad in his 30's who had been going to games since he was 3 years old (literally), he said to me with absolute honesty that he felt the display was 80% down to the players...i used to sit watching games with him when we were playing shit and finishing 5th, then playing shit and avoiding relegation, and every week he was blaming the players totally agree with the buying players thing, the surface perception that people have is he's fighting a losing battle due to having players he doesn't buy forced on him and then sold out from under him "all the time to line ashley's pockets" etc. only flaw in the logic is they're for the most part quality players he's mismanaging

for the first time since i started watching (20+) years this man has reduced me to not giving a fuck about what's going on...stopped watching the matches, barely registers when the latest abject scoreline turns up on my phone incredible really, i maintained hope throughout the likes of souness but this shithouse has broken me good and proper, waterboarded the hope out of me -
how is he not getting hounded out of the ground for shit like this? it's starting to hurt my brain

pardew is paid to be the manager of a football club with 1,000's of weekly paying customers and a reasonably high national (ex-european) profile, why shouldn't his public utterances be looked at and analysed? they would in many other walks of life, never mind other sports mourinho can talk shit 'cause of what he's achieved and the fact his team are challenging for the title, pards not so much i'd expect it from savvy fans of any club tbh, if tony pulis was talking about playing like barcelona every week as his team launched the ball up to peter crouch while rushing headlong to relegation i'd have expected stoke fans to be somewhat interested in the lack of alignment between what he says and does the man is a fucking gobshite, and a shit manager to go with it
-
Man, this guy is so fucking shit it's unreal. It's not like any of us were pointing out exactly what would happen when he lost some of his first choice players though I guess. Comes as total surprise this, I just simply can't understand how we can lose 3 games on the bounce conceding 10 goals. It's inexplicable.
-
what annoys me more than anything with them is that because someone has actually written it, regardless of who it is or where it's printed, that'll now be the gospel truth and anyone not accepting it is denying the truth etc. have the same with a mackem at work about how we hounded SBR out on a weekly fucking basis
-
presume they warned him against cup runs as well, that might explain a few things what an utter prick this bloke is

fucking popped up as a notification so i scooted over, fucks sake
