  1. ronaldo is a solicitor or training to be one or something right? makes perfect sense now, he makes sweeping absolute judgements about players but does them in language that could technically be interpreted as him not quite meaning it if he gets pulled about it, or in a way he can twist out of it
  2. Plus, their form has been thus that they expect anywhere between 8 and 12 points from their next 6 games: http://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/next-6-league-fixtures.844330/ so, we can forget those 6 points and also have to face up to away defeats vs. all the top teams away - onwards and upwards
  3. i thought i remembered that too, then i recall he did a patented half-backtrack and kind of muddied the waters himself fair play like, always leaves himself an out, no absolutes with ronaldo (as soon as he's called out for his absolute judgements)
  4. me and a mate were on about this the other day, and unfortunately it's another pardew attack what we were saying was that a negative side effect of pardew's fearball approach and the plan to win every single game by small margins is that it's going to make it very difficult for him to integrate young players into the team and get them some proper development he'll always play it safe, so instead of being 3-0 up and throwing on dummet or whoever for some confidence building he'll always take the safe option "established" players unless his hand is forced through injury...or i suppose we're losing like last night players like good, dummet might as well fuck off on loan 'cause they'll just be floating about in limbo with us
  5. phrased that very badly (for a change) should always have been getting a sniff in and around the team
  6. not sure why anyone ever thought he shouldn't be getting his chance tbh
  7. aye, i was also the one praising pardew for the bounceback games during the 5th season too if you remember? i think we'll lose at the weekend still and then we'll see, fingers crossed as regards changing the tactics, well, changing them would be fucking suicidal at this point but they need to avoid something demoralising vs. manyoo then get right back on it
  8. and yet when i said this, albeit in slightly more hyperbolic terms, i was given the "how dare you" treatment WTF? we'll get beat on saturday like, but we'll probably be more on our game than if we'd have taken something last night test will be the game after to see if we can bounce back Because the players were giving you everything they've got in recent weeks then you come on a forum and say they will get twatted when they arrive at OT even though Man Utd themselves haven't been doing great. Just felt they deserved a bit more respect than that. Yes last night we got beat, if you want to call it a twatting that’s up to you. I felt a bit let down by Krul the most but I can’t be too harsh on him because he’s been superb recently and he’s just had a bad game which has cost us. Don’t think it’s all doom and gloom. Like I said, if Krul tips that over the bar or punches ball out of danger then i really felt we were going on to win that game. Nevermind though, wasn’t our night and we just need to bounce back with a better display at OT. Brett I even said the point was we can't sustain marginal wins, we'll always get a defeat like last night. Said it happened in the 5th season which it did. You didn't want to hear it man, was fuck all to do with respecting the players. It's not their fault.

  10. Fucking hell. No wonder you defend Pardew. this place is melting down
  11. HF is going to bust out some stats to show it was a championship squad isn't he?
  12. He definitely had a go last season. It made for good entertainment, and hurt the goal difference less than the annual Etihad capitulation. Very strange times around Christmas last season. The next match was the "NO MORE GOALS!" debacle at the Emirates. that spurs game always sticks in my mind as well, what was it 5-1 when he decided to open up 'cause the fans demanded it or whatever shite he came out with after the game
  13. we're already beat man venkman, and you know we are EDIT: before it gets jumped on i'm taking the piss, merely implying it's unlikely pardew will take us there and have a go
  14. assuming there's anything in that, it simply means we have a poor manager and coaching staff Well, yeah, that's basically what he's just said. you're an absolute gent for clarifying that for me
  15. hey brett, when you get up, we got that twatting (scoreline at least) a game early mate - what was it you said? i'll paraphrase: "how dare you come on here after 4 wins in a row and say we're in for a twatting? the players deserve more respect than that" it's almost like there's more to football than the narrow confines of a one-goal margin scoreline on a sheet of paper, or the league table
  16. assuming there's anything in that, it simply means we have a poor manager and coaching staff
  17. You would be the first one to shower pardiola with grief if it was him saying these words rather than Martinez. Anything Pardew says you will always find something to moan about. Aye, that's bollocks.
  18. was amazed he's still only 22, assuming the bloke who told me is correct
  19. Ticket schemes can be clever marketing and free tickets to worthy causes commendable, but they just smack of desperation, almost appearing to try and foist tickets on often unwilling recipients. give all the free tickets away you like, but don't wear the attendance like fucking badge of honour if you're doing it
  20. fucking diabolical that man, heads should literally roll for that nonsense making it my fave: "They weren’t bothered about him breaking the hoodoo against Everton and hammering Newcastle 3-0. They were bothered about him being a fascist." aye, no shit
  21. given they've been banned the chronicle and journal might want to consider contacting uncal joe as a ghost event organiser, offer him a fee every month to show up...sit him at a table surrounded by mannequins and a bottle of vodka then prompt him to spill the beans
  22. where are you getting that he said he'd never adapt during a game? also, i just had a quick check and moyes didn't win a single game at OT in 10 years despite being what you might fairly (imo) term a cautious manager in some respects and also someone who was known for having a competitive team and grinding out results i see martinez's comments as being about changing the culture of the club for the next 10 years to come, to stand toe to toe with them and hopefully at the end of it being the ones who are the best it's his ambition, the way he see's the club being able to progress beyond also-rans
