  1. Who are you referring to here? Or are you dreaming again? Dave, you're on here everyday, surely you've come across the posters who don't beleive we earned our 5th spot and it was lucky. Mrmojo just popped up and admitted he thought we were lucky i said i saw lots of luck in the 5th season, not that it was entirely based on luck - this is what winds people up, twisting words to make your point i've been over, at length, where i believe we had plenty of luck finishing 5th but i've never said it was all down to luck, in fact i've given pardew plenty of praise for that season 'cause he deserved it
  2. can we post anything not in total worship of pardew (or brett) yet? anyways since the dismal performance at sunderland he's gone back to what he knows for 4 games brett...people like me saw lots of luck in the 38 game 5th season - doesn't stand to comparison yet, except to say in one of the 4 games we've recently won (25%) we were as lucky as fuck they look like they know what they're doing again, players look happy again and importantly for me in the same vein as the season we finished 5th they look like they care enough to bounce back from disappointment/a reaming...he's riding another wave of minimal injuries/suspensions as well, hope that keeps up for him take something from swansea next please as i see a twatting coming at OT it's possible to neither be totally against pardew, nor totally for him
  3. what else to say? Would be nice if we could keep it up, especially through the festive season. We always seem to be shit at Christmas and that.
  4. ingredients he's going to be mixing the cement himself isn't he?
  5. mbiwa would be the better bet for me today, they've pace and movement on the break
  6. yes, there's a lot of conjecture on your part, it's true but don't beat yourself up over it
  7. something wrong with that statement ronnie?
  8. it's awful like, mine got so bad that it was resonating up into the knees and i couldn't kip from the pain at night...it's a bizarre thing, hard to fix, i wore crazy comfortable running shoes for months and it did nowt, eventually fixed itself when i started working in the office again and wore flatter soled shoes combined with using the cross trainer, turns out it basically wasn't getting stretched enough and needed exercise tolerable now but likely never go away
  9. not getting the comparison, keegan left on principle, given left for more money if given had left 'cause he couldn't work with the manager or coaching staff you'd have a point, but he didn't
  10. i find things like this hard to process, hard to connect with - came into the thread and was reading it thinking "fucking hell i read he died but he's really dead isn't he?"
  11. do they have a LB? was reading he'd sent assou-ekotto (sp) on loan to qpr 'cause he didn't fancy him and they didn't sign a LB hence vertongen playing there i assumed vertongen was covering for him but apparently not, criminal to spend 100m and leave yourself with a dedicated LB like
  12. if this thread, (and it's 1,2? predecessors) has proven anything it's that there will never be a debate clincher on pardew like - we'll be arguing like this to the end of his 8 year contract happy face - get your microsoft excel 2016 pre-order in, bimpy fire up the .gifs
  13. isn't tiote amazeballs again? sure he can fills cabs boots
  14. hate myself for coming in here, it must be a type of subconscious self-punishment to myself wish i had a job with something to fucking do
  15. You could produce a sentence like this for any team in good form. That's not our 'plan', we plan for each game with what we have on offer, I'm sure. Childish stuff. couldn't give 2 fucks about other teams, it's directly applicable to NUFC and that's what i care about fwiw i've never seen a team with as much attacking potential as us sit back to close out games so often, ever
  16. it's OK KI, we can guarantee with cast iron certainty that remy will continue scoring a his current rate, no-one will get injured or suspended in significant numbers to disrupt us, krul will continue to perform heroics when needed, other teams won't take their chances when they come and so on it's a flawless fucking plan tbh
  17. Where? I took the piss out of him for saying Pardew has had less misfortune than any Newcastle manager in 20 years...and then calling him a bellend in the same sentence, as if for turning our luck. I've used plenty of hyperbole about people demanding we control games for "90 minutes" or to win games "week in and week out" but that's what we all do. For example, clearly Pardew isn't the "luckiest Newcastle manager in 20+ years" because... http://www.ronaldo7.net/news/2012/cristiano-ronaldo-506-ruud-gullit-and-his-super-hot-wife-girlfriend-estelle-cruijff-in-the-beach.jpg i called him a bellend 'cause that's what i think the man is, i don't think he's a bellend because i consider he's a lucky manager and as that benefits NUFC on some level i hate NUFC and want us to fail for the record
  18. so answer me ian, let's assume tactically pardew IS withdrawing the team with the intention of seeing out a 2-0 lead, or a 1-0 as we've also seen pretty often...the opposition score 1 in the second half and miss 2 clear cut chances to score, gilt-egded chances you're telling me there's no element of luck in that scenario and that i'm stupid for believing there is? We've also broke on the counter and missed a couple ourselves, right? i'm not on about the norwich match, i'm just asking a hypothetical question so someone can enlighten me as to why it's stupid to acknowledge the presence of luck in a game of football i'm not a fan of being called stupid, you see I think the problem is that you are focussing purely on moments of good fortune we have and completely ignoring the luck our opposition benefit from and all other teams in general. perhaps you're right, i don't watch other teams anywhere near as much as NUFC these days so maybe it's par for the course yeah

  20. so answer me ian, let's assume tactically pardew IS withdrawing the team with the intention of seeing out a 2-0 lead, or a 1-0 as we've also seen pretty often...the opposition score 1 in the second half and miss 2 clear cut chances to score, gilt-egded chances you're telling me there's no element of luck in that scenario and that i'm stupid for believing there is? You do realise that if you ask him a question, he'll answer it, don't you? i've yet to see evidence of this
  21. How is it possible to miss the point so dramatically? Nobody is gutted. People don't think it's sustainable to keep playing the way we are, like it hasn't been in the past. It wasn't sustainable for a period of 13 games mid 12/13. Outside of that it seems to have been, outside of the odd trouncing. It worked for about a dozen games at the start of the 11/12 season and then we fell to pieces. We actually started to play decent football in a 4-3-3 and go for the 2nd or 3rd goal after that heart attack 1-0 against Norwich. Since then though these 4 games are the only decent string of games we've had, and even then Tim Krul has had to literally be Superman to maintain it. I'm happy for us to play the way we are at the minute to an extent, with Shola up top instead of Ben Arfa even, it's working and we actually look half dangerous in attack. I just wish we could maintain some kind of threat instead of changing tactics to try and protect a lead if and when we take it. yep
