  1. this was saying to a mate yesterday, give us an FA cup run as well and it'll have been a decent season, be right bollocks to go out early again
  2. i know i'm being arsey about it but if they'd announced intentions to expand part of the stadium facilities in 2015 i'd have thought aye right, seems fair enough lads have at it - but the training ground expansion? what you're saying above is that they can't find a training facility in 7 months, i don't buy it i'm sure i'm wrong, perfectly willing to accept that, i just don't trust the cunts especially when fucking kinnear is mouthing it
  3. obviously there are a lot of factors involved but 18 months just to get started? can't accept that like, planning permission etc. would already exist for the existing building so it'd just be an amendment which you'd have to imagine could be achievable in a few months finding new training facilities an inconvenience yes, but an 18 month odyssey to find a new location? nah bear in mind that a lot of construction projects slip on their targets for a variety of reasons, that's why you go with an aggressive timeline and try to meet it, you don't start with a timeline miles away and have a slow and easy approach otherwise if something slips you're even further behind they'll be doing it the cheapest way imaginable, tendering out the designs to fucking nepal for tuppence and sending uncal joe in to do the planning applications
  4. deserves a for the effort and a full house at mackem cliche bingo
  5. be abusive then ian, jesus, it'd be better than the vacuous shite you're usually coming up with
  6. i am now, haven't always been just seems so outlandishly far off to me to be starting it...i could understand if it was a new project totally out of fresh air anyway sure the club does everything on the money, as always
  7. Fairly reasonable actually. Planning permission can take up to 3 months, and thats without it being rejected at the application stage. Then we have the tender for the construction contract. Lastly you have demolition of existing facilities and build time. I'm involved in massive construction jobs all the time man. 18 months is a piss take, tendering the job out takes as long as the client want it to. May 2014 I get, May 2015 nah.
  8. who said they weren't valid ian? i missed it, can you point me in the right direction mate... These posts are really annoying, FWIW. I obviously don't mean literally. yeah, you're annoying as fuck with this shit i know again, as it escapes you, people are looking at the football and suggesting it's not a great way of setting up long-term, that's it's potentially doomed to fail while at the same time acknowledging pardew has done well getting it working after the mackems debacle and getting good results i don't understand what you want, do you want people to literally come on here and simply post "well that was great wasn't it? another 3 points, awesome" then come back after the next game?
  9. The goals you mention are interesting because they were against teams who had the onus on them to attack us. Champions League contenders and/or home teams who we had space to run in behind. Norwich, and WBA are not going to commit to attacking away from home at SJP like any of those other teams we scored prettier goals against. The space for us to attack is much more limited. True about the away games, not entirely true about the home games. When we went 2-0 against Norwich, they came at us second half. Instead of immediately changing our formation to counter attack them with pace, we took Remy off and sat back, when we could have exploited that. There was a slight improvement in attitude against West Brom, and although we conceded, we didn't let the panic set in. we know he can't react well to changes during a game though don't we? the counter-attack thing is bang on the money too, it should be our plan b and worked on very hard in training, we're well set up for it
  10. Absolutely right. i really hope the fitness holds for him like or we might have to see what he's made of when things are difficult again
  11. who said they weren't valid ian? i missed it, can you point me in the right direction mate...
  12. 1.5 years? to knock down a building that's already built, on land they own, and replace with a different building aye no bother, 1.5 years
  13. Sorry like, but this is a cracking post. Monkey is spot on as usual. We created almost nothing from open play. We keep the ball well in our half and around midfield, but are absolutely dog shit hopeless in the final third. This recurring theme cannot continue for long, in addition to relying on a different in-form striker to bail us out every half-term. take your NEGATIVITY elsewhere sir, we don't believe what we see with our eyes in here (when we're winning), we look purely at the league table then close our eyes, put our fingers in our ears and scream NEGATIVITY until the doubters go away that's how you discuss and analyse football good sir, we'll have none of your shit in here
  14. exactly what i said they've said nothing about how much is being spent, have announced the idea but aren't bothering to start for another 1.5 years plus as you say by the time they finish there'll be all sorts of other shit on the go and we'll be at the blunt end once more he's selling up man, make an announcement like that to entice buyers (safety wink)
  15. madness to think otherwise, saw fucking rodgers was bemoaning the size of his squad after getting beat cheeky blobfish
  16. Les and Gillespie signed summer 95. Shearer in summer 96. Great photo though, an immensely likeable bunch. thought gillespie came in the swap with cole during the season, not in the summer...ginola and ferdinand signed the following summer no?
  17. what? by this i assume you mean the "established" top 6 and not everton, southampton and so on... our first team plus 2-3 others is fucking excellent man
  18. anita only "pulls out" of tackles in the narrow blood and thunder english sense; he's usually trying to stay on his feet, nick the ball and thus be able to do something with it instead of flying in hell for leather and seeing what happens...he's flown in too when it's required i see what Tron is saying on the tackling front, i agree
  19. the entire european footballing world is crying out for a euro knockout tournament again, how can't UEFA see it? you'd imagine it'd generate much more interest in the tournament and thus more money for the pricks as well no seeds and bollocks, luck of the draw, er, draw and they're onto a total winner pardew on the money about time between games actually, the moaning cunt
  20. We were excellent that game. Was counter attack to perfection. Would love to see that again on Wednesday. wasn't it 80/20 possession or something in that game at one point loved that match
  21. I don't believe not getting key injuries should be classed as lucky for starters. I don't believe Chelsea concentrating on the Champions League should classed us lucky if we are winning our matches and they are dropping points in theres. I don't believe Cisse going an excellent goal scoring streak should be classed as lucky. There's just a few of the reasons which has been stated in the past for being 'lucky' in the 5th season. they're probably not reading, and i'm not being disrespectful i just have a feeling about it is all...largely based on our shitty f***ing record down there be happy to be wrong brett, DELIGHTED - SO YOU CAN SEE THIS - I'D LIKE US TO WIN AT PLAYING FOOTBALL Well i'm aware you would be happy if we didn't get the twatting you can see on the horizon. Just unsure where such negativity comes from on the back of good displays and some good scalpings against top sides. I haven't seen anything of Man Utd so far in the league to be worried about them. If you go down thinking of past history and we are playing Manchester United at Old Trafford where they are exceptionally good, you probably are going to get a twatting. We gave them a good go last year with a far lesser squad and nowhere near the sort of form we are in now, so if we come out of Swansea with some credit, i see no reason to fear Man Utd. brett, a loose definition of luck (that i choose to employ) is something going your way that you can't control - the things you're talking about are lucky to varying extents, injuries are part and parcel of the game, for everyone, how badly teams get hit by them is pretty much down to luck (although of course they can influence with preparation and so on to an extent), however if shawcross decides to break ramsey in half that's bad luck for arsenal since 2003 chelsea have only finished outside the top 4 once, care to guess which year that was? in fact since 2004 they'd never finished below 3rd...it was a circumstance that was completely out of our control but went our way due to their commitments in the CL neither tell the whole story of the season brett, and i've never said either explained the season fully despite you trying to make it seem like i have - i simply can't ignore the whole picture, some of our football was utterly horrific that season yet we had strikers in form at the right time in ba and cisse and they dug us out when we needed it i don't ignore the very good things pardew and the team did that season either, in fact i've been talking about them on this very page yet for some reason you choose to ignore that it's interesting how you paint me and others as negative when you consider that your man pardew is defined by negativity
  22. totally, bouncing back at the right time was a massive part of the 5th season like and pardew seems to have them in the same frame of mind again
  23. they're probably not reading, and i'm not being disrespectful i just have a feeling about it is all...largely based on our shitty fucking record down there be happy to be wrong brett, DELIGHTED - SO YOU CAN SEE THIS - I'D LIKE US TO WIN AT PLAYING FOOTBALL
  24. brett, why not try pointing out why i'm supposedly wrong instead of using a smiley face and implying you're somehow correct without explaining why
  25. Why? How do you come on here on the back of a 4 game winning streak and say we are in for a twatting at OT? There highest win at home in the league this season is 2-0 against Crystal Palace yet we are in for a twatting? Negativity we produce at times is crazy, just no belief in ourselves. jesus dude settle the fuck down, i'm not saying i want us to lose i just have a feeling that they're hitting some form (spanking leverkusen 5-0 at home for example) and we operate under tight margins under pards, at some point (everton) we're going to get a seeing to it happened in your 5th season too brett, we got some right kickings, but we bounced back and when our next loss come i hope we bounce back again you just throw the word negative around hoping it sticks man
