you get a different perspective at the games vs. tv, i thought they reacted and made changes to how we were knocking it about notably for me as stated getting in between D & M then getting the goal they played hatem out the game very well and we were lucky to be up at HT second half i'll defer to opinion that pardew ruined it but i'm very conscious how right hull got it today that's all...we've been shit against teams parking the bus for a very long time, a very very long time tbh and frankly we know pardew isn't cut out to find the answers i just saw differences between today and last seasons insipid home performances
-
Give over man, they'd hardly touched the ball before we scored. We dropped off as soon as the first goal went in and stopped attempting to attack. That's how we play. watch it again man, after we got the first their strikers and midfielders opened us up between the D & M time after time, coupled with remy and hatem not tracking back we were full of holes ffs this was well before pardew pulled the midfield back or whatever
-
as for the midfielders dropping back and it costing us the game, did no-one see how hull exploited the gap between the midfield and defence to get back in the game in first half? guess not they were ripping that space to shreds well before pardew decided to tell them to drop in
-
what excuses? we were fucking lucky to winning at HT tbh
-
They were good, and contributed to what I thought was a decent match. I've watched too much Pardew football to let him off the hook because the other team looked motivated and organised though. We were at home to Hull, organisation is the least we should expect, whether we've got the ball or they have. We're clueless on the ball, still. agree, it's down to pardew, but in a couple of months we've gone from long ball merchants to a team trying to play football with a shit manager...we're gonna have trouble along the way
-
He did well but it was basic. It was effective though so I guess can credit him with that. correct, and our guy had nothing to counter it with, he never does
-
amazed at the lack of credit going to bruce and hull tbh

It's not that he "pushed the negative button", the players have had it drilled into them for three years that when we lead, that's the time to slow down the pace of the game, stop trying so hard to score and hold their positions instead of committing men forward. It's not a case of telling them to do something. That's the way his Newcastle United want to play. It was the same last week man, people kid themselves that he's had some sort of epiphany just because we happened to win a game when in fact last week was exactly what he wants - get a lead, hold it, if they equalise, try again. Can't believe this is still proving difficult to grasp. well i'm sure you know how critical of pardew i've been and am, however at the moment i'm choosing to believe we're in transition - this is not the same team, style or gameplan that we saw last season, not by a fucking mile you said it yourself, they've been doing it one way for 3 years and so far i see that they're trying to do it another way but it won't happen immediately and it won't succeed all the time just to repeat, today was fuck all like the defeats we saw last year imo
-
really hope whoever actually does the transfers secured an option on him like, he's excellent
-
for all the talk of driving for the box before the game it's so apparent that it's not something he does in games like today...imagine if on one of the multiple occasions he'd been faced with half of hulls team he laid the ball off and immediately went driving off the ball on a run at them giving anita or cabs or whoever the option for that run...5 of them can stand in front of him and crowd him, but they can't all track his run at the same time guess we'll just have to wait for a pards epiphany on that one like
-
wonder what he meant with that chin thing, any know the nuances of italian hand gestures? (i work with the cunts, there are many)
-
gouffran for cabaye was worse, terrible sub
-
people think he pushed the negative button today? didn't see that myself, thought hull reacted to us very well and got the better of us...bruce did pardew tactically but i didn't see that we'd necessarily took our foot off the gas or anything
-
after remy was our best player by a mile
-
hm, classic away mugging if i was being critical of pardew it'd be for not find a way to open up the game for HBA, the gouffran for cabaye sub was awful but otherwise fuck it, what did everyone expect, that we'd suddenly turn from being an awful, static long-ball team into world beaters? i was encouraged he didn't throw tiote on immediately, he left anita on and we continued to try and play football albeit he lacked the tactical nouse to better bruce, which is a shame i'd rather we lose playing like that than the losses we suffered last year tbh not great, but let's move on and hope it hasn't broken pardew
-
Aye thats the thing, if they double up on Ben Arfa then they will leave gaps on the other side, however it really is up to us to get the ball to the other side of the pitch quickly because there was plenty of times in the Villa match we didn't do that and could really have hit them. dunno like, that's how we scored....seemed to me like they were aware of it, anita in particular
-
predict they'll try like fuck to shut hatem down, remy to do the business on the other side
-
love to see them just go out and rout these fuckers, early goal and everyone enjoying their game with a few goals...feels soooooo long since we've seen a game like that, put them away in 30 mins and take the piss
-
to Foluwashola; what was the overreaction then? do you think pardiola was referring to the relegationometer thread on NO in his pre-match presser? i don't did the press overreact? i certainly don't think so, they reported that the club had not backed the manager of a nearly relegated club with the players he publicly stated he needed
-
precisely, the appointment of kinnear was nothing but an insult to everyone connected with the club on any level including pardew staggering his quotes really when you think about it
-
it's literally inconceivable to a rational human being
-
i said earlier i agreed in the wider sense yeah, but he's got a fucking nerve mentioning this summer's player activity tbh
