Thought it was more of a comment on the state of football (esp the media) rather than our fans in particular - see the comment about Redknapp. i completely agree, and he's actually right in what he's saying but he does explicitly state that the fans were overreacting: "I never actually thought we were in as bad a situation as some people were suggesting in the media and even our own fans," point still stands; you can't bleat to the media at every opportunity about how shit your squad depth is and publicly ask for new players then complain about the media when they make something big out of the fact that kinnear didn't strengthen his squad if he'd kept his mouth shut about new players and such then he'd have a point

so we almost get relegated last year, pardew spends the entire season saying his squad is not good enough and that's the reason, he spends the following close season telling everyone the squad is not good enough and he needs more players...joe please get me some players fans unhappy because the manager didn't get players he publicly stated he needed fans overreacting to lack of signings that's a staggering chain of events from pards like, even by his own standards

how are you not getting this? pardew has spent over a year making attacking players try to defend and spend their time worrying about the other team...do you think hatem didn't want to be bursting into the box or scoring goals, that pardew just had an epiphany and has revolutionised his game by getting a very attack-minded player to attack? it's basic logic man, he made the team defensive and they weren't suited for it, we're now supposed to applaud the guy for getting a player like hatem to attack the box? he didn't attack the box before because he was fucking told not to, it's as clear as day

was all down to injuries and yewrup and that mate, pards was a victim as much as anyone else, perhaps more so

are you sure about that, if she manages to keep shola, jonas and tiote out of the team for long stretches and the good players fit i'd say she's doing a pretty perfect job

i do wonder if the kinnear thing hasn't changed pardew's mindset somewhat - what i mean is perhaps he was so fearful all the time because he was ultimately worried about losing his job given it's the biggest he's ever had or is likely to get what the summer has shown is that ashley won't sack him so perhaps with the addition of the kinnear humiliation he's just thought "fuck it, i might get sacked but at least i'll get a payoff so let's play some football" wishful thinking no doubt, we'll see
