Not worthy of a thread - 2018 FIFA World Cup edition
mrmojorisin75 replied to OzzieMandias's topic in Football
what am i missing about the qatar thing and the heat, "can't air condition a whole country"? people live there ffs, the stadiums will be air conditioned as will hotels and presumably anywhere people go indoors, taxi's etc.....sure training facilities can also be ac'd up so what's the crack, they're worried about people walking the streets or something? don't get me wrong, it's a fucking terrible idea but now it's been done surely it'd be easier to find a solution to the heat than uproot the entire european/world football calender -
my own apathy about transfers is dictated by how awful i believe our manager is; i said the other day that throwing players won't help pardew as i truly believe he's beyond hope...i'm clouded by my knowledge of how poor this man is so the fact we're not throwing away money on bent and downing to satisfy his prehistoric view of football just doesn't register with me anymore, i'll come alive again once this knacker is down the road but then of course we'll have to contend with and a whole heap of other problems

strange goings on at manyoo for me, if i was involved there the one thing i'd have wanted to ensure was a statement of intent that moyes is the new man, a big signing for a canny wedge, but they're making mincemeat of this fabregas stuff and as you say the rooney situation too doesn't bode well imo good

Rangers 1 - 1 Newcastle United - pretend you know how it went from page 18

you're right about the 5th season mind, iirc we didn't win a game or something -
if we want a pass and move game, he needs to be one of the first names on the teamsheet

it's a chicken and egg thing, are they all naturally conservative and static or is it a by-product of pardew's approach over 2 seasons? A little bit of column A and a little bit of column B I'd suspect. Jonas and Ben Arfa (briefly) no different under the managers before him. agree, but i've always thought benny should be the guy on the ball picking the pass not the guy making the off the ball run...he's outstanding at that, it's why i was excited about sissoko before pardew got involved anita could do imo, quick enough and intelligent enough to pick a run at the right time, plus he'd be able to use it when in space would have to be coached though, they'd have to recognise it as a serious problem, which i don't think they do -

Oh sorry should a pre-season friendly draw against Rangers have me shitting bricks, my apologies sir. Carry on then. i don't know what point you're making, you quoted me then quoted yourself presumably in an attempt to show my quote was wrong...i was saying it wasn't really -

oh, and by the way, "nice stuff" is just that...we did actually knock it about well at times last season but it was totally aimless when we did, what i'd prefer to be hearing was we've been cutting teams to shreds but haven't been able to put the ball in the net...that would really encourage me our scoring pre-season has been shite barring 1 game at the start, hallmarks of pardew (tight scorelines) -

again, it's not, he's got previous for his fear-based approach...it's very encouraging what you're saying but whether he's the balls to implement a passing game in the PL is another matter, in 2.5 years he's not had the stones for it also given the standard of opposition there's a strong chance we played some nice stuff 'cause they were just shit, but then i'll not take anything away from the guy as it may all be down to pardew and maybe he does have a plan i reiterate, nothing would make me happier than if he does -

only your second quote is relevant, i said "aren't particularly bothered" and you said it was a "slight concern" splitting hairs tbh -

I don't mean to keep doing this but its hard to be creative when Pardew wants the team to be static and not allow movement. I don't see much more creativity and goals in Swansea, Everton and basically any other side outside the usual lot. But they have managers which allow these players to shine in their natural roles. agree with mole, as it stands there's none but it doesn't mean it's not possible to get it working...start by working on getting midfielders and fullbacks beyond the strikers and/or person who has the ball Pard02 described last season for me in his report of last night, knocked it about ok for a bit but devoid of purpose, when someone has the ball the others stand and watch him to see if he scores this is down to shit coaching, i also think if cabaye leaves he'll turn out to be a better midfielder than many are giving him credit for with us -

i don't take backing the same as hoping personally no, you don't back someone without a reason unless you're a sycophant or it in some way benefits you....so people backing him must have reasons right? i hope he improves, i really fucking do, i'd love to be sat here in may with you taking the piss out of me while we ended a good season and have a cup under our arms, but i can find no reasons to suggest it's anything more than blind hope at the moment just my interpretation, so the ostrich thread is for whoever you like because as the morons are apparently now in the majority the non-morons should perhaps have their own hangout -

doubtful, but there are people such as ian and brett who are backing him to improve...it's about as positive as it gets for old pardeux at the moment i'd say -

more appropriate would be an ostrich thread for those people with their head in the sand, they can all stay in there and pretend everything is ok while the rest of us in the real football world address the realities of having a shit fucking manager
