  1. was he IN for the season?
  2. I agree, since the only alternative is basically us.
  3. Would be the best ever Mackem boom-bust cycle if they went down this year though. i was thinking that as well couldn't possibly happen, it'd be too good (but imagine it did and pardew was on his bike 2 minutes after the final whistle blew )
  4. strange to me they've not gone for someone with any kind of track record whatsoever in europe...perhaps a tacit acknowledgement from the owners that simply qualifying each season for the CL and progressing beyond the groups is their minimum requirement, anything else he might achieve being a bonus fair play to them like, it'd have been piss easy to go for mourinho and have a successful 3 years before he fucked off somewhere else hope he fails miserably but is given far too much time & money to turn it around before failing also interesting from the everton perspective, there's been the generally accepted viewpoint that he's totally held them together as a club for the last decade, see they go now
  5. His interview if we do manage to stay up is going to send some folks to the asylum. Still not convinced we're safe by any means like, Villa look to be safe now so that makes Wigan's last game a very likely three points for them. I can see us bottling it against QPR with that clown calling the shots. Don't fancy QPR at all myself. We looked decent in the first half vs West Ham but not great or anything. Just have a bad feeling about it.
  6. Our biggest problem now, as always, is Cowardew. A point vs QPR might well be enough to see us up but this joker will probably play for the point and we'll lose taking it out of our hands again. Must have already been said like. So obvious.
  7. i can't see anything but a win against QPR being enough to keep us up personally, and we'll deserve it as well if we can't beat them when it counts
  8. answered your own question right there, not that it was a question...nobody believes we can win another game with this fuckwit in charge...therefore if you approach everything from that standpoint you're then looking for another team to lose all of their games, and you can never rely on that shit happening
  9. can you go back to one of your many posts in the relegationometer thread and find clearly defined football reasons you stated in the forum as to why we'd not get dragged in? it may be you did and i missed them but i honestly only remember you thinking we "had enough" No. At the time, I wasn't arguing that we 'wouldn't' get dragged in, but rather that it was daft to be certain of relegation at that stage of the season. I've been through this with you privately. As far as I remember, my reasons included better players returning from injury, strengthening the team, and a quickly fading memory of the football we were capable of. I'd have got away with it too, if it wasn't for that pesky manager. aye that's right, remember now...nowt wrong with that tbh, i truly have no idea where the air of positivity came from though having seen what we saw prior to him getting the new players in jan and how quickly they seemed to succumb to pardew's touch it's obviously just how people look at games but i always look at games for areas to improve even when you win, that's how great managers are great...therefore i was sat at the chelsea match (my first in 2 years) caught up in an enthralling game but it didn't stop me from picking massive holes in the way we played at the time...and that was arguably our best performance of the season EDIT: what i'm trying to say there is some people see that as doom-mongering to the extreme, but at the end of the day it's only when you run out of things to criticise in our performances that we're going to be a good team...if you approach every game from a position of unbounded optimism you're sowing the seeds for failure - or something
  10. can you go back to one of your many posts in the relegationometer thread and find clearly defined football reasons you stated in the forum as to why we'd not get dragged in? it may be you did and i missed them but i honestly only remember you thinking we "had enough"
  11. What's going on with this Nixon kid? I remember him being a wannabe journalist then fucking off. Is he back now writing on the forum like some type of 20 year football reporting veteran? Says nothing in that huge post that hasn't already been said 100 times in multiple threads.
  12. Wow, how admirable. You've got a lovely habit of making out like people are being unreasonable when they have an opposing view like. Your argument against me tonight's been wooly at best and absolutely batshit mental to the point of being totally pointless at worst. Sure you'll come up with another wisecrack remark to make yourself look clever like, but the quite unbelievable point is that you thought today was a positive day for NUFC. That's just incredible and we're still skirting around that point. If you really believe that then you're off your rocker. something that has really bothered me with inochi & stu (maybe others) since we started discussing the possibility of relegation in jan/feb - plenty of sound football reasons were being offered as to why we could (not would) get dragged into a relegation battle yet they were countered by these two with nothing but an an air of over-confidence, sarcasm and smugness because we were over-reacting (!) by all means be smug or over-confident, but have something to back it up ffs...i honestly can't recall stu or inochi offering a sound reason as to how or why we'd get ourselves out of it
  13. I saw the last one coming and called it really early, this one I've known the potential was there all along but today has more or less made it a reality now. If we go it has to be one of the most incompetent, sickeningly awful managerial performances known to humanity.
  14. it's really, really hard to see otherwise like....don't beat QPR it's over i'd say
  15. that fucking wigan score man EDIT: oh and a late villa goal, even better
  16. one of the many problems i've had this entire season - you raise a valid point, there are 2 teams on the pitch, allardyce will make changes and they'll probably come at us...pardews job isn't to just sit by idly and watch it all happen like a helpless child, his job is to make his own changes that can enable us to win the match and particularly to counter any changes the opposition make as quickly as possible so the game doesn't get away from you a job he's failed to do on an epic level this season
  17. yeah, but perhaps if they hadn't been playing under defensively minded shackles for the entire fucking season they'd actually be able to do it effectively
  18. so they can play football then? no chance the pardew factor has been dialled down, perhaps the negativity dialled down to 11 on a scale of 10 more convinced than ever if we'd jettisoned this fucking clown weeks ago and just let the players play we'd never have been in this mess not that we're guaranteed any points from this shit like, he'll probably try and lock 0-0 down at HT
  19. sure this has already been posted but fuck me http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22386269 this is how we're going to get a win is it?
  20. assuming he respects carr as much as people think hopefully carr will sit him down and explain that having a good manager can make the club more money by not getting relegated and finishing higher up the table, maybe even winning a cup...the daft cunt
  21. this season man won't it just fucking end?
  22. fucking sick of people having a go at wullie like, absolute bellends, open your eyes
  23. Just out of interest.. if Ben Arfa does stay beyond this summer, I assume you will retract that? honestly man, for fucks sake
