Football's greatest - where does Lionel Messi rank?
mrmojorisin75 replied to Dave's topic in Football
"beaten adversary" good shit -
think this is the CB cover myself, no doubt in my mind EDIT: forget that i was thinking of someone else 20 years old and 5' 10" so no
-
i fucking hate pardew now like, not quoting that massive thing from .com (which is bang on btw) but he's just full of utter shit he's responsible for absolutely nothing, apparently
-
gbandit nailed it, warning signs were there last year when we played awful, awful football for long periods but ba, cisse and hba dug us out of a lot of games with their brilliance...it was never, never going to last and seemingly the only person who didn't know that was pardew posted something similar yesterday but the connection crashed...start of the season he had the players and chose an awful approach, what games we won were invariably won through skill again rather than the way we play...when did we last play anyone off the park? he's been dealt a better hand than most managers in this league and has made a total pigs ear of it, but as has been said now he's convincing everyone he has/had the impossible job and unfortunately some people are buying it my only hope is he walks after we struggle against reading and villa in an apparent protest at not being backed in january...i'd be confident a better manager could get us out of trouble with the squad as it is now
-
Pre-season was weird. We seem to give a lot of playing time to the fringe players to get them up to speed for the Europa League but neglected the first team who seemed to just get a few minutes here or there. who can we blame for that who isn't pardew then i wonder?
-
i'd be tempted to offer him to boca or river or basically any else but these fucking jokers now
-
this is what i'm tired of, we know the first team is short and we've know it since summer yes, however a good football manager can and should succeed in spite of things like...between august and mid-january you would expect to see some signs of improvement somewhere but we're seeing none we open up we get outscored, we close a game down best we can do is 0-0, and in this period pardew hasn't managed to find a formula to break teams down at home despite all of the attacking talent he's had at his disposal...without ba & HBA winning games on their own he's been exposed just can't accept this constant whining about not having enough players, he's been dealt a better hand than many managers in this league and has done a lot worse with it agree with the fitness thing, especially cabaye, looked fucked from the first kick off
-
can't accept this in it's entirety: 1. i was talking about saving 1-2m by taking the time to research and prepare a proper bid...and as i said another 2m wouldn't have stopped QPR anyway, unless you're advocating us starting to pay crazy wages again which i sincerely hope you're not 2. when he had enough PL players at his disposal he fucked it up 3. yeah they're snowballing, but that's largely due to #2 imo...the injuries and exposed squad depth came after he ruined the beginning of the season...had we been playing well at all when the injuries bit more than likely momentum would have seen us pick up more points than we have instead of him making good players play a shite system then trying to integrate younger/weaker players into a failing system when the injuries bit football management 101 man, pardew is gash

i dunno like, it's the job of the club to see the bigger picture and if by not panicking they can save 1m or 2m on a fee then i think they're right to do so....how do we know the 8 or 9 days weren't spent with us find out how much would be an acceptable bid and not going in with an over the top offer besides with remy, if we'd agreed a fee on 1st january i can't see how that would have stopped redknapp coming in and gazumping it anyways the problem as always with mike and dekka is they may see the big picture but they choose to ignore massive parts of it and anyways, as has been said, if pardew can't get a result without remy vs. reading he deserves sacking and if we stick with him we'll probably go down regardless imo...we play 2 of the worst teams in the league in the next 2 games and we should be able to take 6 points...important thing for me is having the right people in place for villa or the game after

2 english players most insane thing i've read in ages

Aye, this whole "challenge" thing surrounding managers joining teams with more or less unlimited resources. The only challenge is with themselves. I think Mourinho is class tbf, he has taken up challenges and succeeded, but aside from Porto, it's never been exactly David vs Goliath. yeah give mourinho his dues like he's acheived a lot albeit with great resources at his disposal...taking the title from barca last year was immense really, i honestly thought that was going to break him but he did it in the end we should be on the phone to pep man, plug the SBR connection assuming there is one, and offer him a challenge to build a power base in the north against the might of all the shitehouse clubs out there....let him have a decade at it come what may we'll probably get holloway

i would prefer another type coz i want us to play 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1. same same. point is he cant play next to cisse imo. If he comes in as back up for cisse and we get a LW/attacker with pace and goalscoring record then fine. have not seem him for some time though. think we really need to consider if we should be signing the types of player we all want or the types of player that pardew can work with i have a suspicion that signing the former will be our death note if we do as you suggest we will not develop and key players will leave in the summer! 100% sure of that! we're not developing anyway, i think we'll lose more key players when we're relegated after trying to get technically proficient dwarves to play like the wimbledon FA cup winning team know what you're saying but the football was awful, awful at times last season and players were happy 'cause they were winning well maybe the first step in the right direction would be to let pardew go oh well yeah but that's looking like the least likely of all the options at the moment isn't it, i was approaching it from the assumption that they'll never sack him, which i really believe
-
the fact that it's just accepted now that there's no chance a guardiola or a mourinho would step down a level to try to build up a club again, anyone who makes it is automatically only ever mentioned in respect of jobs like citeh, chelski, manyoo and so on i'd love a manager to walk from the top then drop down with the specific intent of builing a legacy at a club having a hard time i wonder if clubs even bother to approach them or just take it as a given themselves

Good shout. Would be great. Why the hell do people bother suggttesting loans? Might as well suggest Iniesta for LW Because there was an article saying Chelsea have made him available for loan, much like Lukaku. He's done wonders of WBA think he means we don't do loans

these rumours are crazy when you think about it, we're trying to buy surgical instruments and handing them over to a back street butcher starting to really annoy me tbph

same here, had to return the tickets i bought...reckon it'll end up being a blessing -
this is probably the right answer, revert back to his only real defined plan and try to 1-0 our way to the end of the season
