    nah, surely not..poidh
  2. pardew was forced into playing hba because his team selection and tactics were so appallingly fucking bad in the first half, people should remember that, he threw him on to try and rescue him the week before as well i'm not entirely on board with the notion this is all some kind of masterplan

    Alan Pardew

right, not everyone can be as comfortable under pressure as colo or tiote but if it was capability issue you'd at lease see some variation - passing to midfield when the pressure wasn't as high, launching it when they're really penned in for it to be so consistent suggests coaching/tactics
  4. 3-4 astute first team signings in the summer added to what we've got ensuring we have a first 11 that can all play football with ben arfa fit after a full pre-season exciting thought
  5. right, doesn't it make even more annoying that pardew won't try anything different? i'd even go to the extent of paying jonas and santon at FB's with colo, at least that would be 3 people who can play football out of 4 ferguson being the other option available he's not taking, or raylor of course when fit

suppose i meant erroneous or disputable penalties either way rather than just penalties

then you need to start adding the number of times the opposition (and us) have hit the woodwork, number of penalties given/not given, why not count shots on target that deflected off target as means to prove we'd have scored/conceded more? and so on, it's too arbitrary a stat to use to prove anything
  8. not sure if serious i'll be totally on board if this whole thing has been a masterplan to ease him back to fitness and form and he's seen as the first name on the teamsheet from the first whistle next season, i'm just not convinced...had he not turned the game against sunderland i don't know how much game time he'd have seen before the end of the season
  9. steven taylor must have been the lynchpin, only explanation...last time i checked good managers weren't the ones who were only good when their plan worked and they had a first choice 11
  10. you can't just stick a player, no matter how good, into a #10 role and expect things to happen if he doesn't have the team around him to thrive anyway - which we don't have have for it to work the team would need to be playing the ball on the ground, through the midfield and have plenty of movement off the ball we don't check many of those boxes do we?
  11. where we are right now, again the concern is that pardew isn't finding the answers to keep us there come 10 games time, our form in points and play isn't great and everyone basically seems to be hoping HBA can do the lot on his own i'm not one who ever thought a CL challenge was remotely realistic fwiw
  12. so what, just doing nothing and repeatedly playing a player you identify as a weak link is OK is it? raylor has played all over the pitch, at the expense of our most creative attacking outlet in home games against shite for example, except for RB don't tell me he doesn't have choices man
  13. i never said anyone had anyone worse than simpson, i said they have average-poor players madras hit the nail on the head, none of the teams i've mentioned have a ba, a colo, or a hba either and there's only 8 points between us and stoke in 13th i don't see what's so hard about this, i'll say it again: it's down to the manager to find solutions which he's presently not doing and hasn't been for a while now - play ferguson LB and santon RB for example if he's costing us on a "regular basis"
  14. aye, around us i meant norwich, sunderland, everton, stoke etc., liverpool are only "around" us because of their manager, chelsea for different reasons i'll clarify: aside from manyoo, citeh, spurs, liverpool, chelsea, arsenal "plenty of the clubs around us have average-poor players in their squads too, it's the job of a manager to balance it all out and succeed ffs" don't start with "they're not around us", the whole point of this is they're catching because we've started slowing up
  15. what? sunderland have got average-poor players, they're just being carried along by new manager syndrome atm
  16. interesting to see that in black and white as it's been painfully obvious for a long time we're riding the wave of our good start to the season and teams have worked us out to an extent if we finish lower than 6th this season he's fucked up, no 2 ways about it, especially when you consider he's added a 9m striker to the books mid season and the most talented player at the club seems to have fit fitness and form for the run in no excuses imo, plenty of the clubs around us have average-poor players in their squads too, it's the job of a manager to balance it all out and succeed ffs
  17. agreed, was talking about this with someone yesterday and while it's too early to tell definitively i don't think cisse is going to offer a great deal in all round play...look at his goals in germany, lots of them were him getting in behind the defence or on the end of crosses from the byline area he's not suited to the way we're playing just now, ray of hope is HBA and his eye for a pass mind, with the two of them in the team i think great things could happen

mackem mate keeps posting shit like this to show their superiority (since they sacked bruce, was as quiet as a lamb before that), i honestly don't think i've ever seen anything as bad as this in my entire life: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1038745-ranking-the-20-premier-league-stadiums

a mate posted a link on facebook about pardew being classless so i waded in and started calling them out on things in the comments bit, someone removed all my posts this morning
  21. I wasn't trying anything, I just didn't understand what you were going on about. Was a meal-related metaphor, basically just said same again next season, worse if possible and that I hope Suarez leaves. I still think they're a goal scorer away from finishing in the top 4. It's still inexcusable that the goal-scorer they signed cost £35 million and has been an absolute failure. the one they signed for 22m doesn't exactly hammer them in either mind does he?
