i mean good, who the fuck wants us to stay up at this point?
-
look, he'd just finished a reasonable season playing the in the bundesliga man can we stop suggesting this is like when fergie signed that homeless kid or summit

Steve Bruce "is a clueless cunt"

Honestly the target man doesn't even need to be class per se. Just needs to be strong with his hold up and be a good header of the ball in the box. I think that improves the team overall and allows us to get chances and goals from multiple players. don't we cross the ball less than anyone else in the division? and again, we have carroll who has played a fair bit and i don't think we've created a clear headed chance for him in the box in that time, not one that stands out to me we don't have the players for a hold up game, our CMs aren't up to the cut and thrust of supporting play (shortstaff aside) on the regular so you'd be as well aiming for another ASM or two and hoping they can wreak enough havoc to make a difference as bruce isn't going to coach an improvement to the current setup We have the least everything from an attacking standpoint because we spend so little time in the opposition's half. I think as a starting point we need someone to hold defenders off and lay the ball off simply to ASM, Miggy or Joelinton. Once we get up the pitch I think we will at least get some decent crosses into the box occasionally and we need to capitalise. I can't see us using the ball well enough to create as many other types of chances. That was my thinking around things. just don't see how it works overall, take manyoo away as an example of us playing ok and getting the ball up early to the strikers and for once we had midfielders willing to get up in support of the attack; go a goal ahead and all looks good until the other team realise that there's a massive gap between the defence (that haven't moved forward with the midfielders) and the midfield who are trying to support the forwards unless there's a fundamental change in the overall approach nothing matters - reminds me of that merson clip where he said about maguire for england along the lines of "you play CBs in a 3 when they're not good enough to play in a 2" and rafa knew that better than anyone about our CBs and overall team, either be cautious or get killed we were good end of last season, as i've said, because we were playing through the middle and moving the defence up with the ball so the gap no longer existed and we could defend in the same way just higher up the pitch, this put us in much better areas when we were winning the ball back steve bruce does not have the nous to see this, under him we'll always sit deep because he'll fear "getting caught in behind" more than anything else being a classic PFM
-
Insane comment. He can't strike a ball properly FFS. i mean i agree to an extent to but you have to put that down to confidence surely, there's no way he's got to where he has in world football if he's completely unable to kick a football

I disagree on this. I think if we had Rondon and Perez this season we'd still be doing well because Bruce could just copy Rafa. It would have eventually went tits up anyway when he had to change it eventually based on injuries, players leaving, etc. but I think we could have got one good season out of it. Even if we were lumping it 50 yards from everyone else, Rondon could win fouls, force defenders to put it out for throw ins and occasionally trap it himself. Joelinton can do none of that, and it was unfair to expect him to i'd refer you back to how much of a slog last season was at the beginning even with Rondon & Perez...it only changed the moment Ki came in the team and we started playing a structured buildup that moved the entire team up the pitch, longstaff came in for Ki and carried it on point being even rafa struggled with it until then when there was a distinct change in the way we played, steve bruce is not capable of replicating that with or without those players

i don't think a top class target man would make the slightest bit of difference personally, we'd still be lumping it up to a guy 50 yards or whatever from the rest of the team better to add a couple that are able to transition the ball themselves on the ground supported by almiron, leave the rest of the team defending, and hope that there's enough goals in there
-
theoretically correct but we can't do that with carroll in the team tbph and he's as good as it gets up there when able to walk what we probably need is another ASM who can do it all on his own so there's at least one of them potentially always fit

we're not made of money m8, we've just spent £40 on a striker haven't you been paying attention

surely ladies themselves must have a common term for it by now, it's 2020 ffs -
pends if mike's got something to hide, if he has then he'll delay the accounts again and take the £20 hit
-
yeah well, guess we'll never get to the bottom of that fee like actually will we when the accounts come out? that'll break down the details of the deal surely
-
yeah as always two things can be true at the same time, thing is we know bruce is proven garbage but 6 months is no time to declare any player new to a league/country finished is alls i'd say doesn't look a natural goalscorer/no 9 to me, which isn't his fault if we've bought him to be one, but that doesn't mean under competent coaching we can't ever find a role for him that he'll thrive in
-
if we're going for this milan dude it's obviously a loan right
-
suppose the one thing you have to say is he's not pulled an injury, which would have been piss easy to do in the current climate
-
i mean the kid almost certainly isn't ever going to cut it as a PL number nine and he bears a lot of responsibility for not being able to kick a ball properly in front of goal, but the coaching and management at the club have made things 100% worse imo, possibly to the point of it being irreparable already which is diabolical in 6 months
-
bruce needs to do something about this now, whatever you think of joelinton just plodding on the way they have is clearly not going to work and nothing is going to change either either do something different in training, or drop him and send him away for a couple of weeks to see if he comes back refreshed or something...just do anything, something
-
they'll all want to be the new true geordie or fascistdipie or whatever, my daughter like raconteur is growing up with it all and thinks it's a legit way to go for infinite monies - it's kind of scary as a parent to be honest
-
i can't understand people around him tolerating that game after game, surely to fuck they'd complain like bastards about it...specially the ones behind him, i wouldn't want putting on youtube every week
-
i mean considering he cost them 38m euros brewcey is gonna have to do a hell of a sales job on that vegan steak bake to make the move happen
-
hope he's class
