  1. i thought quaysides posts would have driven this out of town by now Apparently not.... staggering really
  2. i thought quaysides posts would have driven this out of town by now
  3. yeah i agree most likely, however if a sponsor turned up and said i like that placement and would be happy to pay 1, 2, 3m per year for it then surely not even fat ash would be hardheaded enough to turn it down?
  4. remember when the 'renaming' of the stadium thing started and they were saying that they've putting @sportsdirect.com up in order to showcase to potential sponsors what they could get for their money? i'd like to think that's what this is, and with results on the pitch looking decent any half competent club would surely be able to sell those spots to an actual paying sponsor in the not too distant future i just wonder if they're even trying?
  5. 2014. But the Puma deal ends this season and Sports Direct will become the makers of our kit Imagine that. the puma deal ashley himself signed you mean?
  6. this is the only comment i can find that comes close to "it's ok if we're winning" and it doesn't even say that what're people on about man? Did you not notice these?
  7. like someone with a track record of success in business, something like that?
  8. this is the only comment i can find that comes close to "it's ok if we're winning" and it doesn't even say that what're people on about man?
  9. so many city, the richest football club on the planet, are going to turn to niall quinn to run their club and do their deals are they? aye right
  10. big time - there's also the element of people stretching themselves further when they feel things are headed in the right direction and/or the people running the club are at least trying to make that happen average joe supporter (i.e. someone who doesn't spend their life analysis everything like us on here) will more than likely be just thinking "sold carroll, nolan and barton and spent fuck all, why should i bother with this cockney prick?" imo

    Alan Pardew

might end up being the fans who get ahead of themselves if things continue on the same upward path and then if/when we end up not beating liv/spurs it'll be all doom and gloom again just hope people can remember how we've come and how fast

    Alan Pardew

this will not, and should not define our season tbh it'd be an unexpected bonus in all cases, shouldn't be an expectation for him (yet) imo
  13. prefer it if we shaft blackburn off the pitch and no-one gave it a second thought myself like You prefer we win? Really? Obviously agree with that, just don't think we should let it go unnoticed. ah, again it's not like they've torn apart some special bit of heritage man if it'd have said northern rock no-one would really give a fuck, looks pretty tacky aye i suppose but that's our glorious owner for you just doesn't offend me enough to get excited
  14. prefer it if we shaft blackburn off the pitch and no-one gave it a second thought myself like
  15. Aside from the fact that it's there at all, it's way too close to the 'Newcastle United'. Could easily have put the SD signs at each end. pfft, just doesn't seem all that offensive after all the chelp...would prefer it wasn't there but what they've settled on doesn't inspire outrage in me or anything
  16. eh? doesn't look that bad to me, maybe i'm losing it
  17. i'm on a roll here again, who else around us has what you'd deem a PL quality striker, villa? spurs have one on loan but they're a level above us everton have fuck all and liverpool spunked 50m+ on broken bellamy, carroll and suarez...only one of them is top class imo, bellamy will fill in of course until his knees pack up, carroll tbc i'm not making excuses but best is scoring fucking goals, when does his scoring ration make him a PL striker? fine he's never gonna be a drogba or a shearer but he seems to be a very good poacher and have a knack of being in the right place...maybe it's time we got over our number 9 complex?
  18. I'm in bed covered in shite, not watching either. Updates from a kind soul would be good. bahahahah
  19. first part might be proven very wrong or very right this season, on paper we have more talent and pace in the side than any time since SBR's days and it's the most excited and hopeful i've been for quite some time tbh (about the players we have), let's see how they do over the full season though obviously as regards the bit in bold other than manyoo, chelski, man city and possibly spurs you've just described most of the other teams in the league, in fact some of them wouldn't even fit that description
  20. some liverpool fan i know has just posted a picture of a brian clough statue on facebook with the comment "legend, should have been at lfc" aye, 'cause during the time clough was managing liverpool were really going through the fucking doldrums weren't they?
  21. problem is we all know how valuable he is to the team and how difficult it will be to replace a genuine class CB...let's be honest we were trying since woodgate ffs i fear MA will think it's as easy as sending carr out to find the next bassong (wouldn't bet against him coming back personally)
  22. 30 in january, length of the deal will more than likely be as much a sticking point as the actual wages, he's gone imo, unless he isn't a total fucking arsehole like 99% of footballers 3 year deal would be fine for me, as has been said his fitness has been awesome since coming so nothing to suggest he'll fall to pieces
