  1. can't, i live in a cave in afganistan...
  2. yeah, these things rarely stay at the initial penalty do they?
  3. totally agree, only man utd and arsenal we're worth watching last season if we get the right players, then i believe top 6 is achieveable we could of easily finished top 8 if we didn't have that mid-season crisis you mean that mid season crisis when we played some good teams and they tore us to shreds? that one? (just kidding, kind of)
  4. reckon agents should work for FIFA or UEFA direct, salaried and paid for by all clubs with no cut of any transfer deal...they'd then act on the players behalf rather than their own
  5. shouldn't this thread title be changed from "Re: Llambias: sale stories are all utter nonsense " to "Llambias: sale stories are all utter nonsense" utter nonsense ()
  6. deco is 30+ and lampard is approaching 30 aye? there's your answer i suppose - not a lot of clubs want to pay huge fees for ageing players these days regardless of how good they are
  7. this 100%, we'll beat the crap well enough but once they come up against pace/quality they're fucked...then there's the fact viduka & owen will never play close to a full season and our backup is appalling keegans not a miracle worker man, you can't polish shite!!
  8. so you've answered my question, couple of weeks and you start getting impatient, fine i'll choose to "ignore" the modric bid if you choose to "ignore" things just don't seem to be adding up man, they just don't to me could go on and on again about how other clubs don't need as much work as us and citing them as examples isn't really useful...we've a shitter, weaker, more expensive squad than the clubs we want to rival ergo we have more work than them to do? no?
  9. realise this will incur the wrath of the prozac nation on here but this really, really worries me - perhaps what should worry me most about the whole thing is that our owner made a statement that FS would have been hung for yet everyones laughing their arse off 'cause its about arabs and that's alright apparently, half of these people are the same people slating the sun/mail etc... for their shit, right wing london bias reporting staggering really but what worries me most is what the whole things about, him hunting for investors and advertising it now, when we need players on the pitch and his executive team are allegedly hunting aroud behind sofas in dubai for cash; i realise it's a big leap to make but depending how you read between the lines it suggests we're not gonna spend doesn't it? until he gets some outside investment, that's how i'm taking it anyhow until i'm proven otherwise and basically that's what i've been wanting all along with ashley still not convinced they proved fuck all with the modric bid that gets bandied about like street cred for mike ashley so for dave et al when do you start worrying lads? pre-season has started, there's a month to the season and we're in a defecit with player movements to the tune of what, 3-4? by my count the conservative assesment was this summer we'd get 4 (hopefully 5) first teamers in and the same amount of younger players to push for the first team, got some work to do eh boys?
  10. he dribbles down blind alleys,he shoots wide, got a decent cross in 1 game out of 4. he has the ability to become a very good first teamer for us...has he the desire ? and he certainly doesn't have that extra that ginola had. if you took off your turd tinted specs and picked up another pair between them and rose tinted you might find a balanced opinion of the lad makes me sick the stick he gets off people after all the chances we gave to wasters like kieron dyer, titus bramble etc... over the years...as far as i know zog has done nothing to bring the club into disrepute and is suffering from the number of changes that have taken place in recent years, plus lets not forget he's got the biggest arsehole on the planet for an agent who is no doubt f***ing with his head every 5 minutes look at oba - under roeder he did well as roeder bought him and he was first choice, under allardyce oba looked a heap of crap 'cause he was being asked to do things that weren't natural to his game and he wasn't given the managers faith to be our main striker, under KK he was given the faith again and we were rewarded obviously footballs not as simple as all that and zog evidently has other issues (such as family) but if you don't think with the right management and playing in the right position for us he could be a star then we're talking about 2 different players and very probably a different game thats the difference between us. i look at what he is whereas you just compare him to wasters. re read my original post you'll find it very balanced.....has the ability but hasn't played consitently well for 2 years. can we use the "under different manager excuse for every player who doesn't do it ? agreed he hasn't played well consistently for 2 years but to ignore the context of those 2 years is nonsensical, i.e. he played most of his games last season at LB for example, or had a great season and was replaced by duff...but yeah, fine, he shouldn't be dwelling on that as much as he has but anyway you're right i'm wrong, he's got a bad attitude lets sell him for fuck all and rely on damien i'd rather a manager with a proven track record of getting wingers playing well give him a season, if he's not interested then then so be it
  11. and how do you feel about the current man u model that was employed to regain their title from chelski and hold onto it? is that repulsive? Man U's success and revenue has been built up over time. They have consistently been in ithe Champions league and at the top of the table for a good while now and are enjoying the benefits of this. I have no problem with their spending which is still only a fraction of Chelsea's. Not to mention Man United's initial success was all built off of mostly their youngsters who cost them nought. When we are in the champions league year in year out then we can start spending like those guys. Way to completely miss the point by the way. Why don't you comment on what I had to say about Everton then? i didn't miss any point, i just chose to ask you a question mate i agree with what you say about everton really so i never thought the need to comment - read my earlier post about ambition...we need to build a team like everton have done, then once that team is built and we have a balanced squad with a bit of depth i'd like to think we could make another step and push on with bigger and better signings than they are at the moment, now is not the time for us to be chasing ronaldinhos and so on i'd check your sums about chelski vs man u spending mind, to say man u's is a fraction of chelski is pretty far wide of the mark imo...when i was watching them last season i could virtually count 100m worth of bought players at any time...as for their money they've pioneered the financial exploitation of fans around the world and are owned by american moneymen now, lots to admire there

  13. doesn't a lot depend on targets here? both with ashley and people's expectations for the transfer window? if ashleys target is europe next season he's not (so far) doing anything to suggest we'll have a team capable of acheiving that target if his target is to be back in europe within the next 2-3 seasons after quietly and steadily building a better squad then we can't possibly know how that will pan out right now we don't know the extent or pace of his ambition because he's not publicly declaring it and that leads to uncertainty, seen by some as negativity, about transfers & the squad personally i reckon the latter is more likely his target and we'll see a modest spend again(*), can't say i won't be disappointed by that but if in a couple of years time we've a team that can genuinely compete and could stay together for a few years then none of us will be complaining must be said the worst thing that we could do right now would be to spend, say, 25m on 2 players as that is not what the squad needs imo...same as when we blew that cash on luque and owen when we really should have spent more wisely in more positions that we needed to cover *has to be said there must be some merit in the theory of him keeping the costs/spend down in case a buyer comes along with silly money but i don't think people should read too much into it all; it makes sense to improve our wages/turnover ratio 'cause we've not been getting value for money and it makes sense to restructure the club internally too as that can't be said to have worked 100% either over the years...the fact that doing this might make the club more attractive to buyers in the future should be neither here nor there
  14. he dribbles down blind alleys,he shoots wide, got a decent cross in 1 game out of 4. he has the ability to become a very good first teamer for us...has he the desire ? and he certainly doesn't have that extra that ginola had. if you took off your turd tinted specs and picked up another pair between them and rose tinted you might find a balanced opinion of the lad makes me sick the stick he gets off people after all the chances we gave to wasters like kieron dyer, titus bramble etc... over the years...as far as i know zog has done nothing to bring the club into disrepute and is suffering from the number of changes that have taken place in recent years, plus lets not forget he's got the biggest arsehole on the planet for an agent who is no doubt fucking with his head every 5 minutes look at oba - under roeder he did well as roeder bought him and he was first choice, under allardyce oba looked a heap of crap 'cause he was being asked to do things that weren't natural to his game and he wasn't given the managers faith to be our main striker, under KK he was given the faith again and we were rewarded obviously footballs not as simple as all that and zog evidently has other issues (such as family) but if you don't think with the right management and playing in the right position for us he could be a star then we're talking about 2 different players and very probably a different game
  15. think pompeys shirts last year were ace being objective about it... that style would never fit a fat get like me mind!!!
  16. so i'm a bit drunk still but i'll be the first to say it, we've been invited (for better or worse) as the 5th club in england due to our record FS did something right!!!
  17. 'Cos it's cool to moan now then sneak away quietly if things turn out alright. And if things don't, 'I told you so'. Basically, by predicting doom people can't lose. Or people express their concerns (not the same as moaning) because they are genuinly concerned..? Seriously, people go on about how much Ashley has spent on us, but including the buyout fee and debt payoff was just the price needed to acquire the club and doesn't directly affect us as supporters. So far, we have barely invested in the playing staff under this new tenure, and I seriously hope the people at the top realise what is required and act accordingly. After one year of sitting on the fence (or being pessimistic according to some, I'd prefer to call it realistic myself) I am yet to be convinced by what Ashley wants for this club.. 100% agree mate, seems like unless you're sitting about in a Prozac induced state of well being then you're being negative and moaning i'm delighted with MA's off the field stuff and his insistence on investing in youth etc... but if that comes at the expense of investing in the first team then we're in for difficult times said it before but football has never been richer; isn't it 40-50m per club basic from the TV deal now? we spent about 10m net last summer and in my eyes are therefore due a big spend this summer, otherwise where is this money going? surely anyone can forgive a period of settling in for the new owners, that period has now surely passed?
  18. That would be the same James Milner who has scored 7 in 119 for Newcastle & Aston Villa these past 4 seasons. track record includes playtime (he is in and out of the team), assists, importance to club, whether an integral part of the team. Gutierrez is obviously not. yeah, mallorca obviously couldn't care less could they? you can tell that by their silence since the deal was completed
  19. That would be the same James Milner who has scored 7 in 119 for Newcastle & Aston Villa these past 4 seasons. don't stop him ON, he's away getting carried off on a wave of negative vibes and bullshit everyone knows a player can only be decent if he's cost a lot of money everyone also knows KK has never taken a winger none of us really know much about and made him into a better player
  20. Went and found this on YouTube. Harsh Challenge is a bit of an understatement ! did you watch any more of the seal dribble stuff? his gets body checked in virtually every one!!!
  21. Feel free to carry on your personal crusade against one of our more talented players every time a completely unrelated news story breaks.. be interested to see the zog next season huh? this new lad suggests wingers next season and seeing as duff is an utter waste of space i'm hoping we finally see a manager put their total faith in charlie to see what he can come up with, one thing we know is keegan can get wingers playing well and this lad has the talent as for taylor some of the shite on here is a disgrace, home grown player who can play in the PL week in week out at his age and people would have shot of him - i mean what's the choice there? sell him for 4-5m and buy a rozenthal or god forbid a bramble for the same money to sit on the bench instead (assuming we sign better CB's than the lad) mind boggling
  22. Nope, total waste of space aswell. Maybe some Newcastle fans love him because he was such a good player and was a geordie, not being from Newcastle myself the geordie thing doesnt have an effect to me, so i just see him as the t*** that he is. Gazza's got worse as he's got older. When he first broke into the toon first team he came across as a canny lad, a good laugh not a nutter (I can remember him on Football Focus waving around a mars bar when they ribbed him about his weight). He seemed to start going downhill after the injury for Spurs in the FA Cup vs Forest, the process accelerating through wife beating, divorce and hitting rock bottom when he quit football. You can call him many things - mentally ill, insecure, attention seeking, desperate to be loved, a wasted talent, alcoholic - but I don't think he's a twat. I can understand why people may not like him, given his media profile and the chances he's wasted, but if anything he deserves pity not hatred imo. used to think gazza was a twat of the highest order, bit like i hated chris waddles fucking rabbit bullshit and his mullets i hated gazza clowning about and wearing fake tits and that...almost like he was setting an example of our region at times, and not a desirable one however once the depth of his mental health problems became clear for anyone to still deem him a twat is harsh to the extreme just hope fuckpigs like chris evans and danny baker get some coming their way for jumping on his fame for their own needs
  23. gonna say it again - liverpools transfer targets!!!!
