I'd heard that, at the time that Keegan left Man City, a lot of senior players were rather pissed off with him and weren't sorry to see him go. A lot of people assume that players like Dunne would be eager to be reunited with Keegan, but I'm wouldn't be confident of that. pissed off why?
-
We haven't signed him because Keegan's being a t*** and dragging his feet so he can get the experienced Premiership players he wants instead. He's better than Crouch already but if he goes on to be a top player over the next few years and we're left with Crouch doing the f***ing robot then Keegan can f*** off. Am I reading this right? You want the club to sign players the manager doesn't want? I'd rather the club went with Vetere's opinion rather than signing w*** like Crouch, Kapo and Riise yes. Same here. Keegan isn't bad in the transfer market but he's never going to do what Wenger does - he's usually wanting established stars and that's a limitation in many ways. No way should the club be buying players the manager doesn't want. It's just madness. Unless you have a really pliable manager who's willing to have his team chosen for him it's just not going to work. The manager wont pick the player, the player will get pissed off, and we'll just end up having to sell him off on the cheap after paying his wages for doing nothing. Either that or get a new manager every year. It depends whose money is going to be spent on older, established stars who will be worth nowt in 3 years time. Keegan will collect his final pay cheque and wave goodbye, the club/Ashley will have to foot the bill to buy replacements. So unless KK wants to stump up £50m himself, I don't think he can complain if the club wants to buy up and coming players who will hold their value. To spend recklessly with a "who cares, I'm only here for 3 years " attitude would be madness. how can this still be under discussion at this stage? this is how i see it; a) KK was told about the clubs transfer intentions and chose to come back b) KK wasn't told about the clubs transfer intentions and came back if it was a) and he's now decided he's not happy with it then he needs to get to fuck as someone not being on board will only hold the club back if it was b) then it depends on his reaction to the news now - one leads to the same conclusion as a) the other doesn't there's nothing else to discuss - if as has been rumoured KK and the transfer team are at odds over the types of players we should be bringing in then it needs resolving, end of story and Tron, that's a very mature and balanced way of looking at it, and i think you'll find it's more than likely exactly the methodology behind the new owners thinking if KK can't work in that environment he'll have to go (i don't want him to before anyone starts)
-
interesting, but there is nothing mentioned on vfl wolfsburgs website. where do you have this from? bazagli would be immense! as the days pass i'm becoming more and more intruiged by what KK & Wise's team are planning to pull out of their arses in the market there's a very small pool of "recognised available talent" (if you will) and we appear to be out of the running for most of it if italian international CB's don't light our fire, nor established players like Dunne perhaps, then where exactly are we looking for players? interesting indeed

first time i've commented on the spurs summer of links but it's crazy huh? i remember over the last few years we've been linked with a preposterous amount of players at times but i can never remember it ever approaching this many so soon in the summer...and very few of them are tenuous, it's always talks are "at an advanced stage" or the signing "will be announced" etc... i mean what do the papers think they'd possibly do with all these people? form an army? (probably the only way they'd beat arsenal or us in a legitimate game like)
-
acccording to what i've just read, he's been transfer listed.by zaragoza as they've just been relegated and injury prone although he did play 16 games for Zaragoza last season which is an achievement probably a reason he went from title chasing valencia to mid table zaragoza (now relegated zaragoza) in a few short seasons, no? always struck me as far too lightweight for the PL too
-
granted, but imagine a scenario where he'd joined man u and not spurs at that time - ferguson would have been a far better influence on the lad and hopefully kept him of the drink and out of trouble a lot longer than joining spurs with a nightclub owner for a manager in london had gazza went on to have a successful career and all the positivity that went with it we could have very well been looking at a totally different outcome no guarantees of anything of course

That article says we've received 12 million Euros for Emre and have offered 12 million for Turan. We are trying to close a deal before the Euro starts. Would be good news.. surely that fee instantly marks it as bullshit? Look, I don't know how reliable this source is, just saying what it says in the article. eh? what's crawled up your arse? i was criticising the article, not your interpretation of it man

bent would be my first choice for anything up to 10m he's got more to his game, but that would only leave spurs with berb/keane right? so they might not sell i suppose obviously i'm not counting the 11 wonderkids they've got ready to walk into the first team like

where's the cash coming from for citeh again? is it what he's syphoned off out of thailand or is he independently wealthy all legit like? what's his worth compared to ashley/abramovic? certainly acting like an eccentric billionaire, in fact he makes an eccentric billionaire look like a librarian at the minute

so we cant strengthen the squad in case it upsets 1 player ? What I said was that we have to make sure that we DO strengthen. It's detrimental buying a worse player and giving him the first team slot, especially if the player in possession of the shirt has been playing well which Zog had at the time. at the time i wouldn't have said duff was a worse player. we had n'zogbia mainly left, milner right and little else. then we had the chance to get duff a quality international who can play on both sides. it hasn't worked out but at the time it was a no brainer. just maybe duff got his place due to n'zogbias attitude. Agreed that on the surface, Duff looked a good signing at the time, other than we already had someone on fire in that position. Moving on though, we need to do our homework properly on the next left winger to come in. I don't think we did that with Duff. We saw a big name and assumed everything would be fine. think we need to be doing that for players in any position don't we? not just left wing...! but i know what you mean, was bought by roeder but it might as well have been souness eh? "proper" player who is in fact shit...if it was souness we'd have paid 10m though

jesus christ - sack sven and move for hughes right away?!!! this doesn't end well for citeh does it?

so we cant strengthen the squad in case it upsets 1 player ? we can do what we want, but actions have consequences - the consequence here is that one of our brightest stars, having had his best season for the club, was effectively replaced by duff regardless of form and i think we'd all agree he's never been the same you can't expect people to graft like fuck to get somewhere then when you reward the hard work negatively for them to be happy about it can you? surely?
-
i reckon the duke would have to go if crouch comes in, balance the wages and that...crouch won't be coming for peanuts like
-
he's as hard as they come i'll resist the urge to hit you with an innuendo laden retort..!!! fair enough, is he any good though?
-
and isn't coloccini a bit of a fanny? probably just his '80's mop top hairdo influencing me but he always struck me as an anti-argentine defender, i.e. a bit of a fairy and not the usual hardman type they produce who can mark someone out of a game stand to be corrected on that one mind
-
could live with crouchigol for that price - would be more than adequate filling the viduka role as he's pretty good on the deck in tight situations, deceptively so, and is more mobile than viduka as well wouldn't be the worst signing we ever made that one
-
street party when that one goes through then!!!

If he's that good why are 'shiteholes like Portsmouth' his best option? that's what i'd like to know Get real pls. As stated in my previous posts, Pompey is obviously a better proposition. If we are to compete for players with the likes of Spurs and Pompey, we will lose out as we are a lesser club. We are only big because of our crowd. It also these statements saying Portsmouth are shiteholes that make us butt of jokes for our constant delusion that we are great. Sad but true..but have accepted this fact long time ago. Btw, as revealed in an interview Utaka in France, he rejected us even though we offer higher wages cos he wants regular football but he did add, Portsmouth is a rising club while us yes he did say specifically in French, that we are a club going nowhere. i see what you're saying, but you're not 100% correct - it would surprise me if any player chose pompey ahead of us in a one on one fight for him, only thing i could see swinging it would be some type of affiliation with redknapp or the geographical location (in Dunne's case maybe a hatred of Barton) many NUFC fans (IMO) know that our club can ignite very quickly (perhaps like no other in the PL although that's arguable) and overtake these other clubs like pompey to challenge the top four if we get it right my issue with that viewpoint isn't that it's wrong but more that the likelihood of us getting it THAT right THAT fast is very slim, very slim indeed...i think there are going to be some very disappointed NUFC fans after the summer and next season, there's simply too much to do at the moment but to say pompey is a better proposition than us is a joke really They are in Europe, that in its self can be enough for some players if a player is short sighted enough to choose a club in europe for the first time in 'X' amount of years (ever?) over newcastle who've been in it a lot for the past decade plus and have won a european trophy then we're better off without them surely?

http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2008/05/31/united-need-to-make-a-move-lee-72703-21003388/ ROB LEE admits he is concerned by the lack of transfer activity so far at St James’s Park. The former Toon skipper recalls the summer of 1995 when Newcastle signed the key quartet of Les Ferdinand, Shaka Hislop, Warren Barton and David Ginola. Ex-England man Lee feels that four signings of similar quality are required this summer too, and said: “If Kevin buys the players and the board back him, it’ll be fine. “We could struggle if they don’t let him do that. “I think 12 years ago when we almost won the title, Kevin had all of his business tied up before the end of May. “He knew which players were coming here and it was all done and dusted. “If you don’t get your players in early, you’re on a rocky road because other teams will get there first. “With the Euros going on, it only adds to the hold-ups, too.” looks like rob lee is complaining and all, who'd a thunk it? what's he know anyway?

i realise i'm now not posting about amara diane but as for gejon's point couldn't the admin overlords create a thread for board based arguments then everytime another thread skews off into the board they just move it? or is that me over-simplifying the tinternet? {suppose they'd also spend half their life moving threads and all!!}
