  1. If you're in the creative part of the midfield camp, I don't think strength is the most important bit about your game, it's the passing. And Skjelbred is a good passer of the ball and normally has good crosses. Still don't think he'd walk straight into the first team if he came though, and his agent has said when we were linked with him in July that it's important for Skjelbred to be a first team player if he'd change clubs. I'd be a little concerned if couldn't walk into our first team as a cm... butt is awful compared to most premership cm's although he does have a good game once in a while. I think Keegan rates Butt, sadly. Which is why I don't think Skjelbred would walk into the first team. Not that I don't think Skjelbred is better than Butt. Which I do.
  2. I do find it strange that a director of football would go out in the media rejecting a rumour that hard if there weren't something in it to get the press of their backs on tbh. Think Skjelbred will move in this transfer window, if he doesn't come here then he'll be off somewhere else.

  4. Valencia payed £7mill for John Carew in 2000, from Rosenborg. That's the record fee as far as I can remember. I think £6mill is too much for Skjelbred, he's a very good player and have played very well in CL for Rosenborg, but I don't tnink he's worth that much. Was valued by the club at around £4 Million before he signed a new contract apparently.
  5. So far I've read the below on the forum about the Skjelbred thing, I've added translations as well: "Det står jo forsåvidt der at det er "according to reports from Norway" da, og jeg vet ikke helt hvor de rapportene skulle ha kommet fra. Men det er kanskje ikke snakk om allment tilgjengelige nyhetskilder. - It says there that it's "according to reports from Norway", and I don't know where those reports have come from. Though it could be that it's not from the media." "Får vi 6 m £ for Skjelbred bør vi glise bredt. - If we get 6 m £ for Skjelbred we should be very happy." "£6 millioner faktisk! Det dukker opp mye rart av rykter i England, når det nærmer seg transfer deadline, men får vi så mye for Skjelbred, så er det bare å vinke adjø, og le hele veien til banken. - £6 Millions actually! Many strange rumours appears in England when the transfer deadline approaches, but if we get that much for Skjelbred, it's just to wave goodbye and laugh all the way to the bank."
  6. Is this the lad who signed a new contract about a month or so ago? Yep, though if I remember correctly his agent said it wouldn't put off the clubs chasing him, just perhaps rise the club's asking value. Which, if this is true, it obviously has as we were linked back in July planning on doing a £4 Million bid or something. Don't remember all of it really.
  7. Can't find any reports on this. There must be something if Sky Sports picks up on it before Norwegian press. Or it could just be the other way around.
  8. If we dont sign another forward, Berbs probably wont leave. Thought his departure was an inevitability, tbh. Do you have some exciting prospect coming up that would act as cover for Bent? Is there a likely transfer target if/when Berbatov leaves? We have Thomas Pekhart who is considered a good prospect. We've apparantly made a bid for Falcao from River. This is actually a piece of info from the itk's i actually believe. Anyway, Arshavin has been dropped from the Zenit squad for the weekend game and the quotes from Corluka suggest the deal still may be on. Those two words cannot exist in the same sentence, it's a rule of the universe.
  9. I wish Barton's skin colour was green, 'cause then this would be good. http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c75/Kaizero/nutkick.gif
  10. Had I been in Robinho's position I would've left Madrid as well. It's not about being a big club to get a big payday. It's about getting to play games, though seemingly in Robinho's case also get a big payday at another big club, but at least get to play games.
  11. Just realized that was on the first page Ah well. In case someone still wonders.
  12. Stands for "Fixed Your post". And here's the urbandictionary explanation: "Accronym for Fixed Your Post. Use when quoting someone in a newsgroup or onine forum and then add a few key words here and there. Mr.PotatoHead: "Radiohead sucks." GoodTasteInMusicGuy: ""Radiohead rocks" FYP" "
  13. Sadly I feel like I have to agree. Compared to last season the inbred mongs have done fairly well in the transfer market this time around in my opinion, which really grinds my gears as I'd rather still see them throwing away money at useless cunts.
  14. are you just gonna keep posting that? it's in Norweigen Haha, Alanzinho? I don't think so, Harry. (jeg er norsk forresten, og Stabæk fan). If we are to sign anyone from Stabæk it would def. be Annan. Other than that Skjelbred @ Rosenborg is a good prospect. However, he recently sign a new deal with Rosenborg. NEXT! Something his agent has said would not put off interest from the interested clubs. As much as I'd like to see him in black and white though, I seriously doubt we're in for him anymore, if we ever were. That's true. A new deal for him has pushed his asking price up further. That being said, he's has some aweful injuries, that has put him out for long periods. He showes glimpse of his talents, followed by inconsistency. He's far from as inconsistent as Braathen (prev. Bolton) though. If Newcastle look to Norway, Tarik Elyounoussi would be great. However, he's moved to a French(?) side during the summer. I'd still say Annan at Stabæk, and just keep an eye at Skjeldbred. But I feel we should look at better players at the moment. dude!!! what's up with that sig like? I think it's his re-writing of the Kazakhstan anthem from Borat.

And I'd say it's the team itself which Skjelbred plays for that is inconsistent in their performances, Skjelbred seems quite steady to me. And he's only had one major injury, a broken bone after a horrid tackle from this Stoltidis guy in a Champions League match. And I think he's recovered quite well. He's one for the future at least, that's for certain. Still think he'll be moving before this transfer window closes though, if it's to the Premier League, Serie A or Ligue 1 only time will tell.

  17. If you're gonna post something in another language in English, you should translate it yourself and post the translation along with whatever you're posting. And I doubt many from the club itself are looking on this site to see which players the members here think are good. Not that I disagree with Alanzinho being a good player, but I mean, seriously. If Newcastle would want him, the scouts would have been after him earlier on in the Norwegian season, not Per Ciljan Skjelbred, what ever happened to our interest in him by the way? If I recall correctly Rosenborg had confirmed scouts from Newcastle and other clubs had been watching him?
  18. i can't believe we're gonna get over 2 million for him thats ameobi 2 million rozehnal 3 million emre 3.5 million faye 2.5 million over 10 million and quite a bit of wages, something that would never have happened in the old regime I'm all for the glorious new regime, and our benevolent High Leader, but surely some moderation is required here. This news practically guarantees Smith will stay, and his utter, foul, stenchful decreptitude far outweighs all of those benefits. Getting rid of a striker who can actually kick the ball into the back of the net, while you still have Alan Smith on the bench, seems to me to be tempting fate! I just have to admit I suppose, that while Smith is still on the playing roster (let alone the bench) I'm having a very hard time even turning the TV on to watch a game. I mean what if he actually makes it onto the pitch? ?? It may actually be possible that I still haven't recovered from the 40 or so beatings I took last year in having to witness the man in the toon colours. Is there some kind of rehab centre for it? Does anyone else wake up in cold sweats, screaming "Shoot man, Shoot! Why are you trying to tackle the ball when you have it? Stop tackling things. Stop! Start playing football. Aaaaarghhhhhh" Before I read the post or saw your username I just saw the part in bold, which made me afraid Harry-Norway was making a comeback on the site. Thank fuck for it just being you using way too many question marks.
  19. Best ever from the ultras. That one always makes me break into fits of laughter as I hear it as the first part being just "spoken" out there, then a small moment of silence before "fuuuck"
  20. Looks quite purple to me, maybe visit the doc to check for colour blindness?
  21. AO: Tony, who are we buying? TJ: Sorry can't talk, i'm abroad, you know what the minutes are like over here. AO: Well, can you just tell me where you are? TJ: Sorry, what? Can't hear you Alan, i'm breaking up [rustles empty packet of crisps by phone] sshhhhchhshsh can't hear...signal weak...[hangs up] Twat.
  22. Been thinking that recently myself actually. In Keegan I trust, and if Keegan trusts there's some ability in Smith that he can unlock, even if it's deep down inside him, I'm leaning towards giving Smith a second chance, viewing him as "new" this season and ruling out how completely utterly fucking shite he was last season. This of course will only last 'til he puts his legs on the field again and leaves without scoring. That's all the little fucker gets as a second chance from me.
  23. Was a canny read that like. Still think that Keegan has the last say in transfer dealings though.
