I've more faith in him regaining some form under the new coaches than I have in Taylor or Williamson suddenly developing talent. I don't think he's a particularly good captain, from what we can see, but the importance of captains is overrated by fans anyway.

It's like people have forgotten what Pardew is like, just because you think you can make a decent team out of their squad it doesn't mean that's what he will do. Bamford could find himself on the wing like Cisse, Zaha could be dropped permanently for not being a 2nd fullback, the man could make any number of stupid decisions, and be too much of an egomaniac to acknowledge it. Definitely need a LB, Haidara has potential but hasn't proved he's good enough to be a regular starter.
