    Alan Shearer

I'm a hypocrite, with Suarez I would say he wasn't here for long enough, but with Stam I don't care, he would be a contender for my all time XI(from my life time).

The time to worry is when you find yourself agreeing with Paul Merson.
  4. If Pardew took those comments from Ameobi personally then that's him finished at the club IMO.
  5. Another record for the one that proved us all wrong.
  6. I'm wondering if we've done ok(not even well) in any big/pressure game under Pardew, our skirt gets ripped off every time, and it'll be the same at the weekend.
  7. I'd rather we got a proper Cabaye replacement to finish off that midfield 3.
  8. Some people seem to really rate him, I don't see it, and the idea of debating how good Colback is over the coming years is depressing.
  9. Not really a surprise, I don't think we've played particularly well in any games during this run.
  10. Jobs where he would be considered a risk are closed off to him, unless we think he's going to rape a teammate I don't think it applies. That's not my point though. I'm not suggesting he poses a risk to his immediate surroundings or the persons he works with. For me it's a matter of principle. A convicted sex offender shouldn't, by way of his footballing talents, be granted a status as a role model. Which he undoubtedly will be whether we like it or not. Are all footballers automatically role models, just because they play football professionally? I've never understood the role model thing anyway, society doesn't pick role models, individuals do, and they usually pick someone that shares the same flaws, not perfect humans beings.

  12. But if you extend that logic, no criminal could ever be rehabilitated while the victim is still affected? Some people could be scared years after a burglary. To be rehabilited you first have to accept responsibility and show remorse for your actions. Is just not doing it again enough? Is Mike Tyson considered rehabilitated for example?
  13. It should be up to individual clubs whether they want to take him on and risk a backlash from fans and sponsors. I don't buy the role model argument or that him playing again will send out any form of message over the seriousness of rape. When Tyson got out of prison and still had a career in sport people didn't see that a sign that rape was cool, and he was a global superstar, not some lower division footballer. Everyone knows how serious rape is, it's quite clear, unfortunately you get the odd nutter that doesn't care. This is only an issue because he didn't serve enough time in prison, that should be the focus IMO.
  14. Well if someone traps the ball when they've ended up on the floor it's usually given as obstruction, so it the same principle really. He didn't obstruct anyone though. Effectively just trapped it with his chest. But he laid on it to stop the Sunderland player from getting it.
  15. Fuck me, what's the debate? Even schoolboys know what obstruction is.
  16. Him and Clyne are two lovely bits of sweetcorn in the turd.
  17. Probably the worst England squad i've ever seen, most of the squad have either been injured or have been playing really really really shit.
  18. He's xenophobic as fuck, like most pundits. Foreign managers always get it in the neck.
  19. Quite clearly nothing would make Ashley sack Pardew. That's not true at all. He will get sacked at some point. Without a doubt And you base this on? Absolutely nothing suggests it. The fact that basically every single manager in the history of football leaves or gets sacked. Most clubs hire a manager for footballing reasons, there's no way this mug was hired for his track record or talent.
  20. David Bentley is full of it. He was a shit player with a decent right foot, then that went to shit and he stopped being able to compete at a decent level and his ego is too big to drop down a few divisions. Now he's running around blaming his early retirement on the sport, rather than just admitting he's not as good as he and alot of other people thought he was.
  21. It's all about fighting, battling, etc how about you play some decent football, attack and try and win a match? Loving the fact that he's bought into the Pardew way of winning a game.... with "luck" It's the same shit you hear from every dogshit relegation team every season, they know they're shit, they have to watch the games back and analyze just how shit they are. So all they have are hopeful platitudes to do with fighting and battling, problem is every team does this(apart from the shit that gets relegated like QPR will), it's supposed to be the bare minimum.
  22. If he was foreign they would be all over him, look at the likes of AVB and Magath.
  23. Not just that but who the f*** decides to give a broad scouser a job on TV? Punditry is a boys club, look at Phil Neville and Kevin Kilbane getting jobs, and Andy Townsend keeping his job even though literally everyone hates him.
