I’m pleased Man U didn’t get Branthwaite regardless of the money involved. They can spend so much that it’s not even worth tallying up, though it doesn’t stop them complaining about other clubs being able to spend. If they got him he probably would’ve been a first team player for the next decade. Can’t say I know anything about the guy they’re signing so can’t comment.
-
Problem with Wilson is he probably won’t be anyone’s first choice due his age and injuries, I can see any bids coming at the end of the window.

I’m not sure what maturity has to do with it. Klopp behaves in a very immature way, with the regular temper tantrums and attempts to intimidate officials and people in the media. If Newcastle hired a character like that I wouldn’t be happy but I might swallow it, just because Newcastle means a lot more to me.

Klopp isn’t just a moaner, he seems to have very little respect for other people. He’s a very good manager but I don’t think I care enough about the national team to go along with his bullshit antics.
-
Of the realistic names I think I’m liking Madueke the most. His ceiling is high and if Howe does a Gordon job on him he could be excellent.
-
I really hope it’s not Klopp. The man’s a cunt.
-
Be interesting to see where he ends up, I suspect Man U have turned his head.

I don’t buy that we’re after Gnonto. He doesn’t fit the profile of a first choice RW and he’s not really a centre forward. I would’ve thought whoever we bring in as backup to Isak will have some physical presence. DCL at least made sense in that respect. Agent waffle IMO.

Shearer has never been as bad as Kane was during the Euros. You could cut his feet off and he would still try and attack balls being sent into the box. The lack of instinct or aggression from Kane was bizarre to watch.
-
He’s either washed up or injured, because he wasn’t even making the most basic runs in the box when we had an overlap.

England have lacked a top CM that can dictate play and dominate a game for as long as I can remember. We’ve had workhorses and players that are good at breaking forward for goals and assists, but I don’t judge a CM based on that. The closest we’ve had is Scholes, who didn’t really do it for England for various reasons, and had some weaknesses of his own (he tackled like Bruce Lee). Hopefully one of Mainoo, Wharton, and Miley can develop into something special.

I can’t say I feel too disappointed as at no point in the tournament did we look a good team. If you knew nothing about the squads you would think we were a jammy minnow that somehow go to the final, but you knew weren’t actually going to win. I didn’t expect anything going into the game today, and as it turned out we could have lost by 3 or 4.

Flattering result for England.
-
The most bizarre thing about Kane has been his lack of movement or aggression in the box. It’s like his brain is as slow as his legs.
-
England would be way more dangerous with Watkins and Gordon chasing these long balls.
-
At least Trippier won’t be the scapegoat if we get bummed.
-
Do it for Fabio Capello.
-
Agent driven bullshit if ever I saw it.

It’s hard to feel nervous when I’m expecting a one-sided game, maybe I’ll feel it if it’s still close at half time.
-
Onana is the type of player you want when you don’t have the ball, not so much when you do have it. Emery will need to improve his technical skills to make him worth the money. Not a signing I’m jealous of.
-
Given Southgate’s luck, I suggest not trying to kill him if you want to stay alive.
-
Hell of a cv to take into his Old Trafford interview.

Dutch lost their way for a long time after the dodgy call.

Refs really don’t have the bollocks to disagree with VAR.

Not a chance that’s a pen. Shocking decision.
