Park Chu Young will be a bad signing for Arsenal. He's not the quality they need at all. It's only a good signing if he is replacing Bendtner and they acquire another forward.
-
The Premiership has been atrocious thus far.

f***ing class for a 45 year-old like. Dude. That man is at least 50 years old. No joke. He's 40 at most, man. will forever be my favourite footballers. Genius. Think Chelsea will be in the title race until the end and might even win it. The start of the season was always going to be the toughest given their situation.

Have you watched Lampard at all last season or the first two matches of this one? He is the main problem for his club, imo.

The man in my signature has just hit a double against Ajax. I want him.

13 million euro or something like that. It's all just talk for now. He's been linked to Arsenal since he first came out, really. There's been nothing concrete yet so I am not taking it too serious. It seemed like Lucho was gone at more than one point this summer, so I'm more concerned about him.

There's a Ligue 1 thread now? I've been posting to myself about OM matches for three years. This should be a very good and competitive season. I really can't be certain about how the season will progress. I would definitely expect OM and OL to be near the top come the end. OL are essentially the same team minus Toulalan, who was overrated anyway. They'll underachieve their way to a CL spot again, imo. OM have lost some top players in the summer, notably Taiwo and Heinze, but have brought in good experienced players from Ligue 1, like Alou Diarra and Amalfitano. It is imperative that they keep Lucho. I think they will be slightly less talented, but a more cohesive unit and have similar results to last season. Poor start, though. Lille are still a good team, but have lost so many good players this summer, it is difficult to see them repeating the league and cup double. They've brought in nice players, but Dmitri Payet is not going to replace Gervinho, they haven't replaced Cabaye, Sow will revert back to being average and, Rami was the heart of their tight defence. I have no idea what will happen with PSG. Like Man City a few years ago, they are a complete wildcard. Of course, this is one of the more randoms leagues in Europe, and Montpellier (who actually START John Utaka) are crushing Rennes and about to go top of the league.

I really dislike this trend of players pushing for moves away, then releasing comments to get on the side of the fans they have just abandoned. He wanted a move to Liverpool and he received what he wanted. I don't begrudge him for moving to a better club, but Newcastle no longer concerns him.

Porto are the Tottenham of Europe. They continually rape and burgle other sides in the transfer market with the fees they receive.
-
Maybe the left back could slot in, but a new striker from a foreign league isn't going to play in the derby. Even if they had signed on Monday, it would be unlikely.

The amouont of anger and stupidity being released over nonsense has been absurd of late. It's a twitter post, ffs. We will sign the player or we won't sign the player. The Cissokho and Maiga threads are embarassing as well. It is like no one has ever followed football transfers. Most of you haven't heard of any of these three before this week (seeing as we weren't leinked until this week), and are angry that we haven't signed the players already. Calm yourself. Be angry when it makes sense to be angry.

Yep. Managed by the biggest c*** of them all. It's botht teams. The behaviour of Barca's players and supproters today was very poor , as well.

L'Equipe: Modibo Maiga fails medical; transfer 'abandoned'
Segun Oluwaniyi replied to a topic in Football
Aye, load of bollocks that like If we lost an away match to Stoke, WBA, or Villa (Similar sides to Sunderland) it would not be an indictment of the lack of investment in the squad. It would just be a difficult football match that we happened to lose. I understand the emotional attachment to the derby, but this isn't Derby in 2007. The majority of the teams in the league would look at this as a difficult fixture, especially given the time of season and the amount of player turnover we experienced in the summer. We achieved a good result last wekk, and hopefully we can build on that. It shouldn't be a fatal blow if we cannot. -
Messi is the best player in the world, I think.

Learn to defend a corner.

2-2. Loving this game.

L'Equipe: Modibo Maiga fails medical; transfer 'abandoned'

You mean the Sunderland team that finished above us last season and just drew Liverpool at Anfield? They are a pretty decent football side. We might lose. It shouldn't change the opinion of any sane person. -
-------------------------- Tiote --- Cabaye Barton (going next season) ---------------------- Kranjcar ----------------------------- Ben Arfa -------------------------- -------------------------------- Ba ------------------------------ Too little pace and movement in that side.

Bastos plays on the left wing, usually. Cannot really defend.

The Nigerian, Ideye, is the inferior player, imo and he went to Ukraine for 9-10 million euros. Last year was his first season with Socahux, so I assume he has a long contract, and he will be coveted as he was the second best player (imo) on a team that stunned everyone by qualifying for Europa. Not to mention his youngish age and potential to improve. all of this will raise the price. -
John Obi Mikel's father found alive in Nigeria
Segun Oluwaniyi replied to Elbel1's topic in Football
Yes it was a terrible tragedy. Two petrol carriers collided causing a massive explosion. If I remember, she died of heart attack from the shock of the incident. His older brother, who was also a professional footballer, also passed away very recently in Nigeria from heart condition. I really feel for the guy. Outside of that Carling Cup winning goal, the boy has experienced nothing other than personal tragedy and injury/career setbacks since aroudn 2008. I hope he can make it back to where he was. Obi's a funny guy. He's always smiling when he talks, much like I always look at the ground. He may not look it, but I know these times are tough for him. The area where he is from and his father was staying was once great, but it is no longer safe. This happens all time in South America and is gaining steam in Africa. Yobo's family was endangered last year. One can only hope it is abot money and nothing more sinister. It is a testament to Mikel that he could go out and play well in a Premiership match after learning of this the same day. I hope his family is the best. -
Think Chelsea will finish above City personally. The team best suited to fight Man U for the title, I think. No conclusions to draw from matchday one. A newly promoted side at home is one the easiest fixtures City will see. Stoke away is always a battle, and they really should have won that match.

This guy was brilliant last year with Ideye and Martin. It is a shame for Sochaux to lose him and Ideye in the same window, but I will gladly take the boy. Would prefer someone with more experience and proven goal scoring, but Maiga is very talented with the pace that we lack upfront outside of inefficient Lovenkrands. However, if Nigeria does disgrace themselves and call Ameobi, we will be without our top three strikers in the new year which is worrying, this is of course assuming Mali qualifies, which is definitely not a given at this point. They have two tough matches left. -
