  1. Ha, remeber when we meant to sign Veloso for 12 million pounds in 08-09? I am still waiting for him along with Ebondo and M'bia.
  2. Hiddink played Croatia, one of the more talented teams in Europe. Ireland played a country of 1 million that has never qualified for any torunament in its history.

    Classy

When/where did this happen? What sort of forum led one of the key figures at the club to think it was alright to talk like this?
  4. Sorry, been out of touch and somewhat ignorant about this. What seperates this title from the "sportsdirect@" bastardisation?
  5. I know everyone likes the guy now, but Taylor is generally an atrocity of nothingness on the wing.
  6. At least one occasion where Sylvain was running to the line and needed to cross with his right, but decided to shift it on his left and play it backwards, ending the threat.
  7. This second half here will be the most difficult test we've had all season.
  8. He shouldn't be considered by some loftier standard because of his career or his wages (which are hardly that impressive, tbh). Nile is an idiot, but so is the majority of the population in your country. I don't think he is much worse than average. None of you has ever left marks on someone that you quarreled with? God bless you, then.
  9. We are much better than that Pompey team. They are similar because of the great team spirit they had for several seasons and the failing manager reinventing himself, but it ends there, imo. Kanu (barely a striker) was their top scorer with 10 goals! Kranjcar was their only quality in midfield, and Johnson was the only pacy threat outwide. Outside of these three outstanding performances, they really were a below average Premiership side, especially when you look at the careers of the players after. When I look at our side, Krul is a Dutch international, Colo is one for Argentina, Cabaye was a crucial player for one of Europe's best sides last year and also an important player for a major nation, Tiote is proven after last year, Jonas is another Argentina international, Santon comes with great pedigree, HBA is one of Europe's most tempermental yet mercurial talents, and Demba Ba is a proven goal scorer. Even the likes of Marveaux, Obertan, etc. come here with great past performances and potential that has led them to be pursued by top clubs. Portsmouth had none of this. Our league position is a false one, imo, but do not undersell the quality we have here.
  10. I would estimate that 95 percent of the people on this forum have done something worthy of ABH at some point in their life (I certainly have), and I doubt that the club can end his contract for this. I think we really ought to just get rid at this point, but this should not be the reason why.
  11. Just saw Billy Sharp's goal for the first time. A brilliant strike (even without the backstory) and a very touching moment. Athletics can be a great place to forget the troubles in the world for few hours, as I have found playing and watching during times of grief. I can only hope the goal provided some sort of respite from the intense pain. Good luck to him.
  12. Arsenal were never "found out". The quality of their players declined and they became more vulnerable. Most teams are too overwhelmed at the Brittania to try and play football. The top sides have enough quality that they can enforce their style of play on anyone. It is a credit to the legitimate quality in the side that we can accomplish this. I'm going to print out a copy of this league table and post this on my wall, btw. Brilliant. Above Arsenal and Chelsea?! I'm going to spend tomorrow calling all of the African people in the world and laughing at them.
  13. I've actually always liked him whenever I have seen him He gives you hope that fat people can become professional footballers too. Andy Reid has been doing that for years. I saw Akinfenwa last night and decided to stop fitness training out of spite.
  14. I've watched them twice this season, a dominating draw against us and a massive victory against Chelsea. Despite the results, I've come away from both matches thinking about how bad they were.
  15. Sabella should be sacked immediately if he thinks Demichelis is anywhere near Colo. They should change his name to the Spanish equivalent of "mild incompetence". Very poor player.
  16. Games like this remind me why I love this little game that usually gives me nothing but pain.
  17. I've played offsideless football with a litter of old Jamaicans before. It is absolutely terrible. About half of us were trying to actually playing real football, but this one fat man spent the entire match standing on our penalty spot. After he scored for the second time, we had to leave two defenders in the box to prevent this madness. We also picked two attackers to stay in their box so we could also take easy goals off of long balls. The game continued in the same pattern until the entire game was happening in the penalty boxes and midfield was abandoned. Constant hoof and long ball.
  18. I could easily launch it directly into the goal without foul throw rule. God forbid we give this ability to Delap. Eh? I thought the rule about needing another touch before a goal is possible was totally separate to the foul throw rule? I was referring more to the fact that a throwin becomes more useful than a freekick if you have any experiencing throwing a ball. It is much easier than kicking, which is probably the idea behind the rule in the first place. But there's nothing in the rules to stop you throwing it far, or accurately. I don't get it. Han Colo was saying he wanted to remove the foul throw rule..yes? My point was that throw ins would become a massive weapon if players were allowed to throw it any way they pleased. If players were allowed to run up, use one hand and throw off of one foot, most footballers would easily throw it much farther than Delap can today. It would completely change the attacking strategy of every team.

  20. Chelsea have a right to be angry with this ref, tbh. I thought both of the big decisions were incorrect.
  21. he`s off to watch an NFL game straight after the game isn`t he? The Glazer`s are flying him over to the states for the Tampa Bay game against whoever else they`re playing. It's in London.
