I don't see why Chelsea should be castigated for showing a bit of passion and gamesmanship. at least they care, for goodness sake. Thanks. He's one that is fighting for a World Cup spot. Apam is warming up for the Argentina match I guess. He got sent off for headbutting Heinze and then had to be restrained from killing him in the tunnel.

How was Uche's goal?

Are we dropping Nolan, then? He'll have a match suspension surely? Ohhhh...I thought we were discussing the long term plans.

Typical, best not ever watch them. Just infuriating. Funny how no matter how much stick Drogba gets for his theatrics, the guy has no sense of shame and such a short term memory. Such an ugly team all the way through. Best team in the world at the moment, imo.

Luchooooo!!!!! Marseille 2 Lens 1. I like Chelsea because they are not Manchester or Liverpool. Also they have likable players.

Awful penalty.

Definitely, the black African nations will be hoping for each other to do well, and will be supported by the locals. It's "Africa's World Cup" after all. Then again, Nigeria and South Africa have a strong mutual dislike towards each other, but I'd hope they'd still support us. Side note: SA are going to be horrible at the World Cup. Don't be fooled. The reason they have been playing friendlies for the last year is because they couldn't get out of the first round of African qualifying (and therefore won't even appear at the Nations Cup). I hope they don't embarass themselves. That said, the Nations Cup shall be interesting. Last time Nigeria, Senegal, Cameroon, and Egypt were all bitter about their non-WC qualification and outshone the WC qualifiers.

f*** that s***, this makes for 6 months of epic banter with Mike Aye but can you imagine if they beat us and we've been giving Mike stick for 6 months??.....It'll be Eagles gallore on here!! Pretty much everybody Mice supports is doomed to failure. You need not worry about this. I have a connect that can get me seating at Nigeria's matches, I'm hoping like hell I can at least get to see one of our matches at the first African World Cup.

Argentina Nigeria South Korea Greece Good group tbh. We can beat all of these teams and looking at the draw we really have a chance here if we can put our house in order. btw...what the hell is it with us and Argentina? This will be the fourth time we're at the World Cup and we'll have had them in our group three times!!! Not to mention that we've met them twice in the Olympic final and again in the 2005 WYC final. Anyway, I'm not scared of them at all. Except for Messi....he scares me. Also, somebody hates Ivory Coast and South Africa.

I don't understand this idea that England is world class just now. It's really the same players as last time swapping out Robinson for James and Nevile for Johnson, and taking out a fit Hargreaves. England will probaly do well, but not because they have transformed into a "world class team" in the last two years.

Denilson will never be Toure. His physical compostion and style of play dictates that he really has no business anchoring a midfield. Decent CM but nothing more. edit: not like Yaya is exactly tearing up trees in Spain. (and isn't especially young) You could probaly get him for a decent price

Portsmouth to face administration within 3 weeks?

Really? Good business for them, then. I assumed he was on loan. Would kill to have him here. -

Who? They have quite a few good players, but the ones that they actually own aren't very impressive. I think they own Belhadj, so definitely him. -
Wrong. Drogba a high scoring forward as a youth in France before he even went to Le Mans. (I forget which club he came from) He started football later than most and had injury problems, hence the slow start.

African teams can't be drawn against other African teams as there are less than eight of us in the competition. Easiest group for England would be Honduras, Algeria, Greece. The first two are teams that England can physically dominate, but don't play particular wonderful passing stuff. Algeria in particular struggle with more physical West African sides. Greece would be neutralized by England, imo. Looking for Nigeria: Italy, Germany, and Holland don't scare me at all and I'd allso like an Asian team as the US and Mexico are markedly better than them, imo. Our group last time was just ridiculous (England, Sweden, Argentina) and FIFA owes us. We've had tough draws in each World Cup we've been in.

It's a cliche but Arsenal are weak physically and mentally. They will never win anything serious as currently constituted. Outside of a few exceptions many of their player don't have fight and give up far too easily. I watched the Chelsea match and it astounded me how physically dominant Chelsea were. Essien, Obi, and Ivanovic basically strugged of the challenges of Arsenal's midfield/attack and I thought they resorted to rather desperate dirty fouling instead of defending. For me the main problem is defence. One problem is that the fullbacks are constanly pushing up (though producing little and having no targets to aim for), there are no DM's and this leaves the centrebacks under constant pressure. Every team in the Premiership can threaten their goal.
