In order to build further, they have to be challenged. No chairman is spending hundred's of millions of pounds just to maintain the status quo. Man U were alos quite complacent imo, until Chelsea came along.

Benny Benitez: Parky 6 Benny 2 (Benitez watch.). Inter sack the waiter.

He is going to give them a boost but losing Drogba, Essien, Kalou, Mikel is bound to affect them, especially if they pick up injuries and suspensions in January. This worries me. Drogba is just the leader up front. Kalou is a decent player who always seems to be available. Essien and Mikel (whoever is playing/when both play) are the backbone of that midfield. They do the work that the legs of Lampard and Ballack can't handle. They'll miss them badly. -
Fair point. I just don't think Gerrard is a wide player. He played there for Liverpool the same reason Guthrie played there for us. Liverpool want to put their best players on the pitch, and they have a lack of good options besides. I don't think that is really a good position for him.

Ronaldo, are you Steve Mclaren? Choose between Gerrand and Lampard and put an actual wide player in, or change the formation at least.

I hate Manchester United and he's been playing for them since I was was 0.

League is pretty poor. Juve, the main challengers are a way off being a top team, imo. Milan, Sampdoria, Fiorentina, etc. are all good teams. Not great, and not contenders for anyone's title. What's wrong with Huntelaar btw? See he hasn't been playing and has scored zero goals in Serie A so far.

Nicky Butt: Chris Hughton must face shadow of Alan Shearer at Newcastle
Segun Oluwaniyi replied to Tooj's topic in Football
We've already lost Jonas. His head is in a different place these days. I wouldn't trust Nicky Butt to bathe himself, I don't want him talking to the media. -
Why all these Premier League threads? Surpirsed no one has made a Championship version.

He's alos 20. Give him time. I don't think he's special, but he's good.

Got another, 2-0. Annoys me when players do things at other clubs they never did at Newcastle. For the second, he stayed onside, ran on to a through ball and rounded the keeper. He never did any of those things here. When Owen scores from outside the penalty box, I'm just going to give up. Good to see Spurs put in their place, btw. Until they get themselves a reliable centreback or two, they aren't challenging anybody's top four.

That's a sexy team, best I've read so far. So sexy the front three have a whopping no goals between them this season. You do realise that Shola and Nolan have easily outscored the rest of the team? There really haven't been many goals besides those two. Oh s*** I totally forget. Sure, whatever. The point is that we don't have any especially prolific forwards or wingers to throw in right now. We should just pick the players on form and talent and hope that Nolan continues his good play. -
We haven't signed anyone 30+ since Viduka.

Care to explain why not? He probably think it may pressure ashley into allowing a loan signing or something, or maybe even sack Hughton. Simply because it will further fury fans, instead of masking over the shower of s*** we have just been hit with. It wont have any massive effect like, but I think if we could protest for that one game last season when the situation was considerably better, then surely now is the time to all Unite against this c***. i thought the protest was a disaster tbh. did nothing but f*** up our season monumentally. Do people still trot this s**** line out? If they're referring to the incidents surrounding the Hull game, then it's a decent, if misguided and useless, point. Even a draw against Hull means we stay up. If the atmosphere is not so antagonistic, maybe we get that. Moot point anyway, tbh, though. -
Simply because under Ashley's ownership you don't know if either of those will be here come February. Surely there would be better options to remedy this hypothetical than an aging out of contract player who will want to be one of two or three highest paid players at the club.
-
Maybe he'd like to come here, but I don't think we'd be signing him. Think Ashley will not be willing to pay his wages, and personally, I cannot blame him. Sol's not worth it.

Around Christmas I think Shola: the perfect present for NUFC supporters -
Has the past month just been a dream? We only have one decent striker though. It's just Shola, two kids, and Harewood who has apparently been pretty awful.

Sneaky ban by West Brom. Looking at Wikipedia, he was banned from May-August.

Not sure about Miller but Bednar has had a few games. Your spot on WBA are strongest in midfield. Waht happened with the whole Bednar buying cocaine and cannibis issue? It seems like it went away a bit too quietly.
