Say, what you want about Martins' work ethic (frankly these arguments were boring when he was actually at the club, so I won't go into them), but he clearly did not "feign injury" before the Stoke game. The guy was clearly dealing with a real injury in every game after Stoke, and was yet to fully recover well into the time with his new club. The idea that he was so scared of Stoke, he feigned his way into surgery is absolutely insane. As for Lovenkrands, I just remember that injury being pretty awful on the pitch. It was pretty serious wasn't it? Didn't he spend a decent amount of time in the hospital? I don't think either player faked. If you're going to fake, wouldn't you claim sprained ankle or something, instead limping through five matches (Oba) or pretending to die (Peter)?

Reminds me of America NBA player Eddie Griffin , who comitted suicide by sitting in his car on train the tracks until the train came. He was burned so badly they could not recognise the body. That wasn't really surprising though. He was troubled. Had severe alcohol/drug problems and had gotten into a car accident while pleasuring himself. Enke, on the other hand, seemed to be relatively stable and headed in the right direction in his career. He wasn't though, and that's the point. He was diagnosed as clinically depressed as early as 2003, but it was kept quiet because they were worried about the public reaction, as well as the possibility that it might lead to him losing his kids. What a mess. As a contrast, I can't remember what the reaction was to Trescothick's problems, initially, but he seems to have been given a lot of time to come to terms with it by the public and media. Had no idea he had such severe problems into now. It seems the problems actually started with his lack of success at Barcelona and other clubs on the continent. I suppose these were only cpmpounded by the death of his child.

N'Gog cheated for sure, but it was a stupid attempt by Carsley. A reckless and unnecessary tackle at that position on the pitch.

Hmm...It's a common name in Cameroon and it is usually spelled N'Gog in the same format as N'Zogbia and N'Siabamfumu. Maybe he has simply changed it for clarity.

RIP to them as well. However, I have not heard of any of these people before, nor do I know them personally. The news that soldiers have died in a war does not strike me in the same way. Regardless of that thought, the emotion is still the same. Unnecessary death is a shame regardless of who it is.

What the hell! That's the last thing I expected when I opened this thread! R.I.P. That's tragic and very very unexpected. He really was justed coming into his own and getting the recognition he deserved.

That's his stupid fault then. All players should know football is a short career. It's completely fair to spend on martgages, car, etc. based on expectation of future income stream. It's not only a footballer problem. 99 percent of the population would have a problem if their career and earnings were suddenly cut short.

Carsley speaks. Carsley should shut up and not make such stupid tackles. His bad decision put the referee in the position to fall N'Gog's dive. Why does everyone spell "N'Gog" wrong btw? I've seen places like the BBC spell it "Ngog". Weird because you never see anyone write "Nzogbia"

Phil Jagielka, Nwankwo Kanu, Gabriel Heinze.

Some were saying it was luck. Whole lot of footballers wishing they were born with that kind of luck.

Jonas's goal was absolutely brilliant, btw. I do not understand how anyone can say otherwise. He received the ball around the half way line and went on a solo run that led him to a good shooting position in the box. What other player at the clubs would've scored that goal?

Benny Benitez: Parky 6 Benny 2 (Benitez watch.). Inter sack the waiter.
Segun Oluwaniyi replied to Parky's topic in Football
He really has to go now. By any standard, this season has been embarassing thus far. -
Maybe he can't walk around anymore and that's the issue. According to MoritzVolz.com he had his surgery in April, and every new report I've seen has had him at Fulham trying to maintain fitness until he is signed.

She's been kicked out of the league. I wonder what she's like in the bedroom. You shouldn't. She'd probaly rip it all off from your body. Would be unpleasant.

Someone should tell Babatunde! He won't know what he's missed! Those last ten minutes have been playing through my head again and again for the last 21 hours. You're mad. The team is awful. They've spent 40 million Euros on new talent and the team has managed to regress. It's only his first year, but Deschamps should leave. Rafa Benitez type stuff here.

Braaten is 27, man. Freddy Adu is pretty unlikely too I think.

Jesse Jackson

Depressing. edit: also a shame. Careers should never be this short.

I can't believe this! We were up 4-2 with 10 minutes left! The match was ours, ffs! Complete insanity. Can't believe we've only gotten one point from that match! You realise l'OM have scored 11 goals in their last two matches, and only gotten 4 points? Very angry right now. Still, 5-5 is a big f*** you to all these annoying people who complain about French football being boring. No, not really. He is a physical monster and I don't mind having him around, but as the main striker he is not up to it. The guy is pretty much a blunt instrument, who will miss more than he scores and mess up the easiest of chances.
-
They given it away in THREE mintues! Disgraceful! Yes. Please. Someone remove him from Lyon.
-
Marseille Lead. Kone. Oh Yes. edit: 4-2 I can't believe this! Was ready to call the championship fight off.
-
Marseille 2 Lyon 2. Cheurou equalises from 25 yards out. Lloris made a mess of it thought. Can't believe him or Mandanda will start for France in the World Cup. We're lucky to be in this still. Lyon have been much better and Taiwo and Ben Arfa need to come off the bench.

Well it would be when they had it perfect last season, and now its not. Results are results obviously, but they're not as good as last year, and Real have improved drastically. Really? I haven't seen a drastic improvement. He's been injured for a few weeks. What about the other 100 million pounds they spent? Not working out, then? Is Enrique even mentioned as a potential squad member? Capdevilla is weak. You'd think he would get a chance. Not going to happen while playing in the Championship. I reckon he would be in the mix if Newcastle hadn't got relegated. Hmmm....I just hope that's not reason he mentions when Atletico or someone sign him in January.
