All the signs point to another Marlon Harewood. Big time Charlie who hasn't quite made it, but still wants to be paid as if he has. Doubt this will come to anything unless he's genuine about want ing to be here and will accept Championship wages. Marlon Harewood is currently employed by a Premiership club. Fabrice is employed by no one. I doubt it is the same. Come to think of it he's not called Marlon either...you might have a point. What I'm saying is that Marlon Harewood believes he's a Premiership player that has fallen out of favor with his manager. Pancrate was floating around as a free agent in November and must realise that this is one of the last chances he'll get. He has no club or contract to fall back on. Harewood leaves here and continues picking up a pay cheque. This is not the situation with the Frenchman.

Jonas on the left and him an the right=sexy football Lovenkrands doesn't even get called up for Denmark these days?
-
They should go ahead and sell him in January and spend that money on a replacement and some defenders. Martins has more league goals in less games and Grafite is not far off and scored a hattrick in CL. It's actually a shame Grafite is around 30 as he has been the better player than Dzeko over the last two years.

Top scorer for England? I'm pretty sure the top scorer throughout qualification was Dagano. The real key is Rooney's partner, who invariabky will not be of great quality. It's not like every player has to be great for you to win a World Cup though. Was Rooney top scorer in the European groups? Nope. I'm looking at the statistics and Rooney was tied for second with Dzeko at 9 goals. Gekas of Greece was first with 10.

What do you hate most about being in the Championship?

How so? I was estatic when we won matches last year. -
Most of the media would have done simply based of his "vast experience" and that he used to play for Manchester United.

To be fair though, it is very difficult to really smash any team in the FIFA top 40 or so. They are all there for a reason and especially these days everyone is putting up a fight in every region of the world. Those types of results ought to be cherished more than before. Nicky Butt was fantastic in 2002. Probaly your best player. I remember definitely being the best English player against Nigeria.

Can't think of many other products of our youth team that have won 2 Premier League titles and played in the Champions league......and we keep Andy O'Brian & Nikos Dabizas?! When exactly did Gary Caldwell win the Premiership? edit: You're right though, we should have given him a chance while he was here.

December 4th. I'm already scheduling my "World Cup draw" party. I don't get the criticism of past England teams, btw. Seems to me, other than the 2008 Euro debacle, your team has done relatively well in every major tournament.

Was it 2002 or 2006 where Nigeria had Efe Sodje who's spent most of his career floating around the bottom two leagues over here in the side? Means nowt. I think it means something. If you're a legitimate nation than players like this should not be featuring for your country. Imo, it's one of the reasons for the falter in 2002. Nigerian officials are stupid. They called up Kayode f***** Odejayi after Barnsley's FA Cup run. I hope Algeria knock out Egypt tbh. They play the better football and players like Meghni, Belhadj, and Ziani are very good to watch. People forget the likes of Zidane and Nasri have Algerian roots as well. Only problem I had with them on Saturday was that they employed the typical North African tactics. They were time-wasting and diving from the first minute on.

Still only 23. I thought him and Collins John would set the PL alight.

DC and Baltimore have much scarier neighborhoods, but you don't have any reason to be in there (and before I sound to racist/classist, it's a tragedy what's happened in those cities and others, American Dream my arse). I lived in Baltimore over the summer (and at other times before) and there are some really bad places that you just want to avoid. Like you say it's urban sprawl and "white flight". People with money live in the suburbs, poor folks in the inner city. It's similar in most American cities. Still, I loved Baltimore. DC on the other hand is a hell hole.

Do you mean Heinze is a rubbish left back nowadays ? I have not got a clue how is Heinze performing in Marseille. He was a brilliant left back because he could express fully his lion heart and aggression without too much defensive responsibility (as compared to centre back). He is still decent defensively but simply not cut out for top level centre back defending. He's never been the quickest player, and as he ages his lack of speed and agility is getting shown up by the better wingers. Also, while he has scored some goals, his crossing and general attacking play has not been good really. He's been much better at centreback where his experience and bravery can cover up his weaknesses. If he must start every match (which Deschamps seems convinced of) then it should be at centreback.

Is that not contradictory? For someone who's been playing for PSG and in La Liga he is garbage. Does not have what it takes to succeed at those levels. There are plenty of players in our squad that I feel the same way about. That doesn't mean he can't be useful in the Championship. I'd be willing to give him a chance considering there is no transfer fee.

Is Chester really that much more scary than the likes of Philadelphia, Baltimore, and DC? I mean it's probaly a small little useless place compared to those, but I doubt there is much more crime.
-
Pancrate is absolute garbage, but I'd have him here in a second. He's a winger and we only have one of those in the entire squad. No way we should be turning our noses up.

Haven't watched him much in Spain, but I always thought he was a top top player at Toulouse, and it always seemed like he was on the verge of moving on and accomplishing big things. I definitely thought he would have been a great buy for Newcastle as we've lacked a player like him for years. I guess it just never came together for him. I actually watched him yesterday for Cameroon and he didn't seem as good as before. Lost the ball a lot, and was generally sloppy. Maybe he's gone stagnant at Betis? Nah, really disagree on that especially after yesterday. Really good and accurate passer and a big, strong player that wins the ball frequently and hardly ever loses it. Definitely needs to find his shooting boots to achieve full potential though. it seem lack of determination & less work rate which hinder his progressions. But i still think he is good player with canny passing ability. Definitely. Also, I think that he is too hesistant sometimes. I can see that he's been putting more effort in though. That's why I was impressed with him yesterday. Really stood up and took the game by it's neck, and was a leader. I think he could really show himself in Sotuh Africa.
-
Anyone hear about Nigerian footballer Stephen Worgu? He plays in Sudan and got caught drunk-driving. He was sentenced to be flogged foutry lashes with a karwats. He's fighting it though.

That was the plan originally, yes. In the last few weeks Taiwo was dropped and Heinze played left back, but Deschamps is pretty much an idiot and everyone else realises that Heinze has no business playing left back anymore. I think Taiwo will be back at LB and Heinze in the center once club football returns. Gabriel has scored some big goals, but his defending has not been very good so far, imo.

If both Algeria and Egypt bring supporters, then there could be some absolutely insane scenes in that stadium.
-
I would try FIFA.com. They are all pretty terrible. I actuallt watch some matches in Africa I more than a few times the scores and teamsheets have been blatantly wrong. Egypt are such cheaters. I hope Algeria destroys them in Sudan.
