I don't mind it really, as long as St. James Park is in the name, then that is what it will be called. Ther whole "Park Stadium" thing makes no sense though, and you'd think someone would realise this. The name of the park hasn't really changed, imo. It's not different than a shirt sponsorship. If we win the Championship, we ought to watch for snipers.

How's it going for the players who left Newcastle?
Segun Oluwaniyi replied to LoveItIfWeBeatU's topic in Football
All of them are doing quite well it seems , except for Viduka, who is doing exactly what he did while he was at NUFC: nothing at all. Beye will probaly be unhappy with his role as well. Duff seems to already have found better form than he ever did here, while Bassong has basically continued on doing what he was doing here. Owen has been more productive this term, but he still does not look very good, imo. Martins has been hit and miss (surprise!) for Wolfsburg. Scored a double in the last league match, and his started ever since Grafite lost his head. As you know, given has been pretty much the same player as well. -
Considering we end up winning by five goals, I don't think it will be a massive deal Still, I do agree about the decision though.

The long road ahead. What next for Newcastle United?
Segun Oluwaniyi replied to The Prophet's topic in Football
If Enrique goes, it will likely be because he wants to, and the same can be said of Jonas. The question might just be replacing them, imo. Similar to the summer, it would have been nice to keep Bassong, Oba, etc., but they had ambitions and suitors in higher places. The problem is that we brought no one else in. However, at that time Ashley was still "actively trying to sell the club" -
Newcastle v Peterborough 07/11/09 - Pre Match Thread
Segun Oluwaniyi replied to Decky's topic in Football
I need to look at a team list or something. Had no clue Peterborough were in this division. -
Good Lord! What idiot wrote that? Common sense dictates that's not the way things are run.

I agree, but Kevin Keegan and the Premier League have different views apparently. I think the Keegan situation might be slightly different. While I don't think he should have won his case outright, it seemed as though people within the organization were trying to limit his role and lessen his influence. Seems more severe than Curbishley's case.

I think the whole idea of a big club is perception. No statistic can decide whether a club is big or not, in the same way that no statistic can decide what makes attracted to certain people over others. The whole idea is formulated in the mind of footballer supporters and those in football circles. If we think it is a big club, then it is. If we do not, then it is not. Not that any of this nonsense actually matters though.

I still do not understand what right the managers have to be winning these cases. According to this he quit because two rather rubbish players (McCartney and Ferdinand) were sold against his wishes. I mean they don't own the club, so why is it a breach of contract for people above them to change the staff? I feel like whoever wrote up these contracts must have been fools.

Goal fest for Marseille tonight. Usually the struglle to score 2 against bottom clubs in Ligue 1, so this is a pleasant surprise. Man U score. I think that will pretty much put Wolfsburg through. Shame for CSKA. edit: 6! edit2: Real Madrid disgust me.

Madrid are seriously doing my nerves with this "not being able to defeat Milan" rubbish
