Lassana Diarra was never good enough for Chelsea and he wont be good enough for Real.
-
He's funny, I just wish he would shut the f*** up about the Chelsea match. He just called them a machete machine.
-
He's injured. But he's also really poor, so it doesn't really matter. That Alex-Terry Central defence partenship is pretty slow and blunt. I guess Carvalho is still injured?

Harper, Taylor, Onyewu, Bramble, Babayaro, Solano (Duff 86), Parker, Butt, Milner, Dyer (Sibierski 81), Martins. That side managed to beat Liverpool 2-1 in 2007. There's no reason that this current group can't do the same. It is essential that both Guthrie and Barton start in this game, and if they both do, I think we can have a decent crack at it tbh. Hull (Who are actually worse than us and probaly worst in the league--and yes I know we didn't beat them ) pushed them to the limit this weekend, so why not us. Forget the negativity, let us find glorius glorius victory explosion.

Dunno, I thought he was immense in a strong Italy side that only conceded two goals during the tournament (one of them in the finals). Didn't Zidane win the golden ball though? Actually, my mistake, it was even more ridiculous. Cannavaro won Fifa World Player of the Year for 06, not WC player of the tournament. In 06 Kaka was still pissing all over everyone, how Cannavaro got it I'll never know. Zidane won player of the tournament for the World Cup, which is probably just about right for his performance against Brazil alone. To be fair to Fabio, he was the anchor of three title winning sides during that year. I see your point, and its certainly not a bad one, but I think that was more to do with the team as a whole than Cannavaro. Whereas Kaka was everything as a player at that time, regardless of his team. Kaka, alomg with all the other Brazilians, really failed to produce at the World Cup, so it would have been tough to give to him that year. He definitely earned and was rightly given the award in 2007. I don't know, I'm a big central defender myself, and I like to see us given some credit. People love to praise those soft little playmakers and strikers, but you never hear us getting credit for cleaning up all the messes. Let us have one for once.

Ok there's 1. But by in large the track record of the lower league striker making the step up is poor, Dave Nugent being a prime example. Chopra was totally the wrong buy for Sunderland as outside of his goals which would be a lot harder to come by in the top league he offers very little, he wasn't really all that impressive in his few games for us in the Premier League. When you compare him to someone like Jones, who can defend corners, hold the ball up, beat players, be strong in the air. Its no contest. You mean Kenwyne Jones, who came from the lower leagues? It's all about attributes really. A short fat striker with semi decent finishing ability is never going to be good enough.

Fantastic win! Marseille truly performing like champions. Niang and Mandanda were absolute heroes today.
-
He's been fantastic. Kabore and Zubar are both makeshift fullbacks so it's not surprising he's given them fits. Still good perofmance. Him, Michel Bastos, and Mavuba are all really good players imo.

This referee is awful. I really hope we hang on to this. Would feel much more confident if we win as the rest of the real tough ones are at the Velodrome.
-
Surprised that Fulham are now considered a step up from Monaco. from what I've seenof him he's pretty decent. Quick and will run all day. Not a tremendous goal threat but still good. Also I'm sure his name has always been Park Chu Young. Is yours the proper translation.

Hmmn, not been that good today... Hes there to watch Annan i think, and he has been superior to skjelbreid tbh. Hope Lsk win this:) What of that young Ivorian? Traore I think his name is. Is he ready fora higher level? Not even in the squad, not been in it for ages. Really? He was being called the next big Ivorian player like 2 years ago....then he just disappeared. What happened?

It would take something alot stronger than beer for that to happen dj.

Why? It's not like Madrid are Bolton or Stoke. Under Ramos, they've been a good effective team.

I (and the majority of this forum) coud play a blinder against Samba. Let's not give him too much credit.

Anyone know how my boy Emmanuel Ekpo is doing?

We are top, yes, but any of l'OM, Lyon, PSG, or Bordeaux can win the title imo. Lyon could inly draw again on Friday, so if Marseille win today, they'll be six points up and Bordeaux will be four points up if they win on Wednesday. l'OM and Bordeux certianly have enough I think, and I believe both are better than a tired looking Lyon who better watch so they don't miss CL next year.

Tuncay is alot more rubbish than Tevez though. Then again, he may appear that way because Boro rely on him for goals and he's not really great at that.

I'm a fan of Miranda. http://img.skysports.com/09/04/800x600/FanzoneGirlsmiranda_2210770.jpg Probaly is the prettiest Wigan fan they could find though, tbh.
