  1. (Deco to CHelsea) And who can ever forget KaKa's "Omg I'm going to be sick!" outburst when we were linked with Ronaldinho from Barcelona when Ashley first came in. Yeah, but Deco has been terrible this season (probaly the main cause of Chelsea's problems really), and Roma are occuoying a similar poisition in the Serie A table to us in the Premiership table.
  2. Very pleased. Could have done himself some favors though by announcing after thw Pompey or Spurs match though. Horrendous timing. No problems with Ashley for me. Definitely hope he is given a good chance to succeed now. Mike Ashley comng back and doing well is probaly the best result for everyone. Stability ftw.
  3. drenthe is cack... he's dutch milner... can't cross to save his life He's pacy as f*** though, nothing like Milner. But, yeah, he's really not very good at all.
  4. Barca would really piss on the Spanish League for years to come if they pulled that off. Dream transfer for them. We should bid for Gudjohnsen if this occurs in my opinon. Barca would have a ton of top class strikers if this goes off.
  5. I will be getting some of that action. Manchester United can do better than Owen. Unless they are tight on cash, I don't see why they would settle on 29 year old with poor injury record. Especially after the Luois Saha experiment.
  6. Geremi's been alright when called on this season. Can't see what he's done wrong to be placed with likes of Cacapa....Unless you physically can't tell them apart
  7. Ettienne are near the relegation zone. It's a tradition in France. A team finishes in a European spot one year and hurtles toward the relegation zone the next season. In 2007, Toulouse finished 3rd and in the CL places, in 2008 they avgoided relegation by a point I think.
  8. Had a couple of reasonable games, a few good - and it all went to his head Ending up a swell-headed prick in the Kieron Dyer/Jermaine Jenas mold But even they did produce on the rare occasion - Richards is NOT He's his own worst enemy. HAD a small amount of talent, wasted it, due to believing his own press People are just so ridiculously quick to throw vitriol and hatred towards footballers. Maybe it's jealousy or something. Micah Richards is 20 years old. He has plenty of time to learn and recover from his poor form. Don't really know how you can call him a "sel-headed prick" because you see him on MOTD once a week.
  9. Interesting.. Bassong definitely has a chance to be in the French sqaud soon. Gallas and Silvestre are over 30 and not performing and Mexes is not performing at a high level. He will no doubt be among the players thought of after the next World Cup.
  10. I don't get why people dump on the French League. I find it entertaining to watch and follow. Definitely a hotbed for fantastic young talent as well.
  11. You talking about Bassong? He wasn't a star or anything. I remember him being discussed as a future star though. Even though he is young, he had been a common part of the Metz first team for like three years. I think we only really got him so cheap because Metz were relegated.
  12. He's very good. Would definitely be easier to get as well. Much better attacking outlet than Enrique.
  13. Sakho is a fantastic young player. I see no logical reason why he would come to Newcastle on a permanent basis, or on loan really. Would be fantastic to have him, but it makes little sense for PSG (who can wait a year or two for the big boys to pay top dollar) or the man himself (who is one of the most highly regarded players at a very decent club.)
  14. Missed the match...was at church, only seen highlights, but I must say that I am estatic over the result. The first goal we scored was terrible defending from Assou-Ekoto I guess. But that's what you get when you play Benoit Assou-Ekoto. That was canceled out by their goal, which was equally terrible from Shola. Last goal was sublime though. Especially as Duff and Viduka are the last two players I would pick to do something useful. Up the table we go under Super Joe! Looking forward to the festive period now. Could definitely give Liverpool a game I believe.
  15. Really? Isn't he getting on a bit now? You sure it's not the Luis Garcia at Espanyol? No, one of the papers over there specifically mentioned the one at Atletico. He's around 29, so not much older than Laryea Kinston, Bullard or other much worse plyers we've been linked to. He hasn't been getting that much time because of Simao.
  16. I think Sakho is wanted by all top clubs in Europe. In France, they regard him better than Bassong. Will be hard for us to get him here. Yeah, he'd have no reason to come here and PSG no reason to sell to us. He'll play in Paris a few more years before his inevitable move to one of the "super clubs".
  17. It doesn't make any sense I don't think. So, I'm assuming it's nonsense. However, Mr. Kinnear is somewhat of a buffoon, so you never know.
  18. I love how media types say that Allardyce had us in 11th when he left, as though this was some accomplishment. I don't know how they fail to recognize that he was taken us through the least difficult set of fixtures we had, and drawing or even losing. I honestly think we would have been higher last year at that point if we had just kept Roeder.
  19. Conversely, the Italian sides have drawn Man U, Chelsea, and Arsenal while the Spanish sides have been set with Liverpool, Lyon, and Panathinaikos , and Porto. With all the class team that finished second in their group, this was always going to be a very difficult draw for most involved.
  20. I wouldn't be comfortable saying that any of the English teams are certain to go through. Liverpoool is inferior talent wise to Madrid, so if Merengues can get their act together by February I think they would be favored. Inter is a match for any team in the world this year. Arsenal and Roma are both pretty s*** and inconsistent. Chelsea are better than Juventus, but they've definitely had their problems this year as well.
  21. You never know with Real. Alot will probaly change between now and February in all honesty. My picks as of now: Sporting Lisbon v Bayern Munich Lyon v Barcelona Real Madrid v Liverpool Inter v Man Utd Arsenal v Roma Chelsea v Juventus Villarreal v Panathinaikos Atletico Madrid v Porto
