  1. The timing suggests that Keegan was waiting to see if the club was sold - new owner, no law suit. As Ashley is still in charge and looking likely to be for some time, KK has decided to go through with it - I am guessing that KK definitly wants to get back at Ashley. I stress the word "suggests" as I am simply guessing like everyone else I don't think that makes much sense from Keegan's point of view. Not sure how Keegan feels he can sue the club though. I would understand wrongful termination, but to me, the whole thing seemed like resignation because he didn't enjoy working under this leadership.
  2. It'd be funnier if the money hadn't disappeared into thin air. I think that's a bit unfair to say really, and unnecessarily spiteful.
  3. I think I'm just going to follow your lead and recommend every half decent Nigerian player in Europe:lol: Don't worry, at least the club will have a Norwegian by January 31. He seems quite good at injuring Alan Smith, so he can't be that bad a footballer either. Wtf man. I didn't SAY that we should have signed Hangeland. Coloccini is a lot better. Just said he was good. But it have said, a lot of AVERAGE players from Norway, that's spot on. We're in a very bad period, just look at how our national team is performing. M.G.Pedersen and Riise are s****. I'm just joking around. But yeah I worry for your national team. Who would replace Carew once he quits? Anyway, hopefully the club can sign some QUALITY Nigerians and Norwegians in the future.

  5. That is a significant improvement in my opinion. Less confusing for sure.
  6. English sides are involved in some mad matches today.
  7. I'm amaed that he has been this honest in public, DURING his career. The boy does have a fantastic talent though. It may seem pompous what he's saying, but I agree, If he cared at all he'd be at a top club and a mainstay in the Azzuri attack. edit: He's only 26 ffs. It's not like he's winding down his career, when he's saying this.
  8. Burkina Faso aren't terrible though, they've got some decent players coming up like Kabore from Marseille. Still, it's a bit embarrassing to be crushed by the Upper Volta.
  9. For an optimistic nut, you sure are one pessimistic bastard. I think Oba will do well in a team that is playing well. I think his downsides (Owen and Viduka's as well) are more glaringly obvious because of the team he's in. It's been really frustrating how isolated he and Owen have been since they've arrived. I still think he can improve, all footballers can and its ludicrous to say he cannot. One thing I'll add...I don't know who gave you the idea Mancini was a great manager. He was going to lose his job before Calciopoli scandal handed him three straight titles.
  10. No I really wouldn't...I really don't care about this minor issue enough to put that much effort in. But it was more than 2 games I'm sure. I see you have laughed at my previous comment, but I believe it is very true. Will you honestly look back fondly at Owen's time here? I liked this guy alot at Liverpool, but he has really stalled here. Also, he's been a massive massive waste of money. I'm not going to fault someone for two freak long-term injuries, especially when he has the goalscoring record he has at Newcastle. And before you quote the niggly injuries, he hasn't missed that many games, or no more than any other Premiership player. I'm not really faulting him, Nut. It's just the truth of the matter. His contribution to the club has not been what was expected. Therefore he was a waste of money. Just like Barton was a bad signing (unless he turns it around, which he can). Though he has talent, his contribution to the team has not been enough.

  12. If you're going with this school of thought would it not make sense to take off games for Oba settling in to the league which Owen has never had to do, then also take off games for playing on the wing under Allardyce. He played about 2 games on the wing. No, that's just incorrect. And regardlessof what you think of the two players, one cannot argue that Owen has been a completely disasterous signing for this club. Do not through stats in my face when this is obvious. Owen is a good player, but he is leaving in the summer. His time here will be remembered as the darkest period of his career, and the darkest times for Newcastle in the Premiership era.
  13. Agreed. I think Shay is the best in the Prem, though. I'd definitely take Cech, Reina, and Friedel above Given. Good shot stopper but definitely not a commanding keeper. No way is Friedel as good as Given. At shot stopping Given is far more athletic. The other two are both good keepers but they have always played behind a solid back four. Put them behind our back four and it would be interesting to see how highly they are rated. It's not their fault Given is a masochist who for some reason decideds to stay at Newcastle (thank the lord he does though). Plus how do you think these keepers got the right to play behind such top class back fours. Casillias is the exception, most of them have earned their stripes. Cech was just fantastic for Rennes.

  15. Nile is the perfect human form.
  16. Between him at 17 mil. and Jo at 19 mil, I would definitely go with Klaas.
  17. I know it was similar in La Liga last year. Pretty much the whole lower half of the table was in danger until the last two or three weeks. Zaragoza ended up going down with 42 points.
  18. Yeah, you gave me a f***** seizure you arsehole.
  19. It's something of an indictment of our attacking options that we have to play 3 strikers so that each one can make up for the weaknesses of the others. Not to mention compensating the lack of goals coming from midfield. I think you're wrong about that. The travesty is that the strikers have to make and take their own chances since no one willl create any for them.
  20. I have a funny feeling Oba will leave in the summer. I don't know why, but I think it may be happening. Also, before I am attacked, I did not claim this as fact or say I was "In The Know", I just think it might happen. Don't know about that, he genuinely seems to love the place and dare I say it the club. Everyone thinks Oba loves them, he's just that kind of guy. He "loved" Inter but when Ibra came he put in his request. He displays great passion towards Nigeria, but still he skips town when it suits him. Don't forget he has already pulled shady things a few times here as well. If the club is still in chaos come June, I think he'll be out. Players just as fans will tire of the "mild excitement-epic fail-mild excitement-epic fail" cycle that NUFC seems to follow. I think N'Zog may leave for similar reasons.

  22. Ruud is out for the season...so they go and buy Huntelaar? Good Lord.
  23. Newcastle is the club fullbacks come to die. Stephen Carr, Olly Bernard, and Celestine Babayaro all had alot of talent (especially the last two). I have seen it. I have borne witness to the wonderous exploits of these three rampaging up and down the right and left sides of the pitch. And I have also borne witness to the decay and death of that talent that has hit these players in the North-East of England. What hath cursed us in this cruel fashion? These days when I see Enrique, once full of so much promise, giving the ball back to attackers, I shudder, and pray, that this one does not fall into the abyss which has claimed Baba, Olly, and Stevie.
  24. Yakubu, yes, brilliant player IMO. Ashton, if fit is a quality player, but keeping him fit is the problem & we dont exactly have a good record of keeping injury prone players fit. Similar to Owen in some respects, does nothing for 90 minutes but can still score the all important goals that win games. His problem is his work ethic really. Very true. Just think that he would be a good signing for us, especially under JFK because he is strong and good in the air, just an all round better player than Ameobi, seeing as though he doesnt look like changing his style of play now. Not like Everton are going to sell him like!! No, Yakubu is not brilliant. He scores a lot of goals wherever he goes, but his other contributions are just too little. He doesn't even try to assist in other areas. So when he's not scoring goals or n form, he becomes a massive liability really.
  25. On the same note in all our many seasons in the Waffa since 94 the biggest team i think we played would be Marseille. Played a hell of a lot of mediocre teams Edit: Probably AS Roma PSV, Sporting Lisbon & Fenerbahce aren't bad mind. We played probably the strongest PSV side in years. Those teams are the class of the UEFA Cup in all honesty. I don't really know what people are expecting.
