  1. Clueless. In what way? Because I disagree that we should sign 29 year old players who have horrible fitness records and have been horrendous signings for their last two clubs? F***...I wonder if Blackburn fans are lobbying to get Damien Duff back? Time to move on. Actually West Ham fans love him. Rotated around like an arse at Liverpool didnt help. I sure they love him after the 4 or so goals he's scored for them. Carlton (How the f*** am I still in the Premier League) Cole has been more productive for them. Bellamy not a terrible player...it's just that all signs point to avoiding him.

  3. No...the guy can't have scored more than 10 goals in the last two and a half seasons. We need to look for players that might actually play and produce in the year 2008, and not the year 2003.
  4. After reading your first paragraph questioning Owen, I can't believe you've got the nerve to say that about Chelsea fans at the end. Typical of some of our supporters. Ridiculous why I can't question why the player who's supposed to be the team's top scorer only has fifteen shots? To me that shows the ability to create his own chance is lacking. I know this is an issue with the midfield, etc. as well, but the thread is about Owen. To me this is definitely an issue we need to address. Anelka on the other hand has done everything that could be asked of him, yet is criticised for not..er...not being Didier Drogba I guess.
  5. He's hardly failed to settle. Played in Serie A for two years before moving to a bigger club for a nice fee.
  6. 1st place teams: Manchester United, Barcelona, Roma, Panathinaikos, Juventus, Porto, Bayern Munich, Liverpool 2nd place teams: Chelsea, Inter Milan, Sporting, Atletico Madrid, Lyon, Arsenal, Villareal, Real Madrid Got to be some great ties in the second round.
  7. Apparently Aalborg wouldn't give that much as they are replacing him after this match.
  8. second place teams will consist of: Chelsea, Inter Milan, Sporting, Atletico Madrid, Lyon, Arsenal, Villareal, Real Madrid. Not an easy draw available.
  9. Why does he only have fifteen shots though? He's featured in twelve games. He's started eight times as well. That's not even two shots per start let alone appearance. Anyway, I guess it's good he's putting away chances, but this does seem to support the theory of him needing it on a platter for him to shoot, let alone score. Very crucial for us anyway. *Anelka has been ridiculous this season. Chelsea fans are always on his back, but the stats shows show he's been getting chances and taking them. Those spoiled fans should really learn to be grateful.
  10. Everton can be horrendous to watch at times. I think I should like them because they have players I like (Arteta, Pienaar, Osman) and three Nigeria internationals (would have had another if not for work permit nonsense too), but your style of play is incredibly bad sometimes.
  11. Gretna mark 2 I only hope you aren;t hoping to influence the deluded Ashley fans that this is the way forward for NUFC Of course. Signing fantastic young, enthusiastic talent is definitely not the way forward for this club. Anyone who thinks this would work is a f**** crazy Ashley supporter.
  12. Doing transfers at Madrid is like playing FM with unlimited cash....."Oh no...Ruud's injured.....let's go buy Huntelaar!" Frankly, they are just as good as Barca, so the manager is the difference.
  13. Rmoas was sensational in the Spanish league though, I think that's most important. Capello could crash and burn with England and go back to a top job in Italy.Same kind of situation in my opinion.
  14. modric was very good today. Dictated the game and should have got a couple himself (jenas on the other hand was less impressive but he improved second half). Aaron lennon hasent had a bad game for us this season (except maybe against everton). West ham are a ridiculously bad team and will be relegated if they dont sign a good striker in january. My missus is a spurs fan so have seen a fair amount of you this year, and Lennon has been near enough the best player in every game I've seen. Why the f*** did Harry start him out of position to accommodate that tosser Bentley? Only watched the first half tonight, seemed fairly even from what I saw, but Spurs much more dangerous going forward. God knows. Think Redknapp is thinking that Lennon could still do a good job lm whilst Bentley would be non existant in that position. Bentley has been a poor signing so far and his set pieces are a joke. Still think he's a good player but he needs to get his act together asap. How long is Dos Santos out for? I recall him being one of the few bright spots during your horrendous start. Our you all still looking to replace Gomes?
  15. Portsmouth are a very much differnt side then the last two seasons. They are more open now I think. The last two years they've been a team who were very compact and featured either (Drogba type player) or Kanu (Master of holding the ball up) upfront alone. Now they start two up front every match (Crouch and Defoe) along with losing Muntari/Mendes in the middle. They've lost some of their solidarity along with becoming a team with more attacking options. Honestly I don't see why we can't win this match. I refuse to be scared of a team that will start a 19 year old left back and Glen Little on either wing. Seriously, their main creative force has been f***** Glen Johnson. Sol Campbell turns slower than the goddamn planet Earth. I refuse to fall into this ridiculous self-fulfilling prophecy that we wil lose to them. So, Howay the Lads!, Forza Bianconeri!, Allez Allez!, Oba et Owen droit au but!! For this Sabbath day shall be a ghastly one for the citizens of Pompey!!! TO HELL WITH PESSIMISM!!!! 3-1 NEWCASTLE UNITED.
  16. Brilliant saves by Gomes before the goal. I find it amazing that both Diego Tristan and Robbie Fowler are in the Premiership in 2008.
  17. Jenas is a decent player in my book. I don't like him, but he is a good player.
  18. You must be watching a different game mate. I'm talking in general. This season he really has looked a class player for Spurs. Been very influential during their best spells.
  19. Modric has been quite good so far. Megameters ahead of anything here.
  20. 99 percent of Argentine footballers magically have Italian passports. Just how all Ivorian footballers seem to have French passports. We need the English to give passports to our players.
  21. That's is very high for La Liga....significantly higher than usual. funny how Ligue 1 is so low. The league is very very competitive and the football is usually pretty entertaining. I guess the goals just don't flow. Actually, Bundesliga's average is 3.04 a game. Just noticed there's only 18 teams in that league. Yeah that league has the highest average most years...beisdes the Dutch league.

  23. Real Madrid at Burnley in next years Europa League.
  24. Regardless of the specifics of are situation, that is a terrible terrible rule for football. Through this, couldn't the likes of Oba, N'Zogbia and Taylor just buy out of their contracts at the end of the year?
  25. Pick all the stuff he won in 2006 out of: Individual * Euro 2000 Team of the Tournament * FIFA World Player of the Year 2006 * Ballon D'or: 2006 * 2006 FIFA World Cup Silver Ball Award * 2006 FIFA World Cup Team of the Tournament * Oscar del calcio * Serie A Footballer of the Year: 2006 * Italian Footballer of the Year: 2006 * Serie A Defender of the Year: 2005, 2006 - Runner-up: 2000, 2001, 2002 * UEFA Team of the Year: 2006 * FIFPro World XI: 2006, 2007 And remember they got him for a knockdown price because of the Juve scandal. I understand all that...but it really does bring you back to the era when they were trotting out aging versions of Ronaldo, Figo, Zidane, and Beckham without winnning anything. To be fair to them, they won two titles after this, but this did coincide with the removal of those players forming the past era.
