I'm just saying how ridiculous that argument is. "You know Babayaro used to be quite good at Chelsea, but once he went to that s*** team Newcastle, he stopped performing. Those s*** players around him really dragged him down."
-
What are you talking about? Because i don't think Owen is world i want to watch s*** players? Is that what you're saying? Is that your logic? Is it? Eh? I agree with kimbo, if he was world class, where are the world class team's coming in for him Put Michael Owen in a team that can actually play decent football and you will see that he is closer to world class than you seem to think. He needs a few games to get his timing back but he is light years ahead of anybody we have. You just had to watch his passing, awareness and movement even in the withdrawn role last season. Problem is he's dragged down to this level by the utter dross that he has to play with tbh. Martins may be spectacular at times but he doesn't have a footballing brain. Ameobi has neither but can con a moron like Kinnear just because he is big. I'd think that Owen has to wonder how the f*** things could go so wrong when he looks at who he has to play with. Owen is good, but he is not a top level player. Just because he was so many years ago, does not mean he is now. He had a chance to be a great, but he squandered that through bad career choices and unfortunate injuries. And it's ridiculous to say that he isn't performing because he's being pulled down by the players around him. I wonder if fans of Nicky Butt, Damien Duff, and Celestine Babayaro are saying the same

Chelsea vs Newcastle United - 22/11/08 - pre-match thread
Segun Oluwaniyi replied to Dave's topic in Football
Chelsea have lost the title the last two seasons because of home draws, and this year all their slipups have been at home. -
Sven's Mexico are in serious danger of being knocked out of the World Cup. Watching Nigeria-Colombia at the moment. Terrible match. Yakubu has been an absolute disgrace for us. Scoring requires some the striker doing something else than just constantly standing offside! How lazy is this useless idiot?

Despite statistics, Eto'o has dropped in the last two years, and has been a bit of headache at the club. However, he seems to have gotten his best form back at the beginning of this season.

Guardian: Shearer clears way to become Newcastle manager
Segun Oluwaniyi replied to thewellander's topic in Football
I'd think we ought to get an experienced manager, or at least experienced coaches backing Shearer. I'd really would prefer it we didn't turn our coaching staff into and Newcastle United 1990's old boys club. -

I don't know how you figure that a recently retired player with absolutely no experience can't possibly do worse than someone with quite a bit of experience and success in the past. I would not want to hire Shearer just for fear of the Keegan effect type situation. I just mean if he is a s*** manager that the people in charge of the club may be scared of sacking him or limiting his control/influence. I don't want the club to be stuck with a poor manager for five seasons just because his name is Alan Shearer. Frankly, I would like whatever manager we hire to have shown that they are a good (or at least competent) manager at some point during their life. This is why I would be against Shearer, though it wouldn't be the end of the world if he came. -

Chelsea's home record is far inferior to their away record this season. I think they have something like 21 points out of 7 away matches scroing 20 times and conceding once. They have been much more vulnerable at home tbh. -
Terry-Carvalho-Ivanovic-Alex-Mancienne-Taylor?

Maybe he just prefers to compete for the Belgian title with Standard, than compete against relegation with some s*** PL team.

I was really looking forward to Faye and Coloccini in the centre. Haven't a class partneship like that since.....

Oh f*** off with that Ashley-Shepard nonsense too. The board has already donated an entire thread to your tiresome rubbish.

Assuming you can't read then.

Barton out for two months with medial ligament damage
Segun Oluwaniyi replied to LoveItIfWeBeatU's topic in Football
Wow, you came up with that youtube really, really quick. Just honestly, I'm stunned you found that so fast. . He actually does have decent form, and I disagree with the journalist, and think he needs anger treatment more than fighting lessons. His problem seems to be doing rash angry things rather than being undisciplined. And I still don't change my original thoughts about being scared of him or anything. The only person who scares me out of the current squad is Taylor because I think he's slightly mad. -

I know, he's not the biggest but he'd knock seven shades out of me. I'd love to see one of the many who regularly calls our jailbird a w***** on here go within a hundred metres of him in real life. I don't know I should be scared of Barton or Butt. They're not boxers ffs, they play football. I mean should I be scared of Barton because he's "hard" and attack teammates from behind? Even though regardless, I'm not really one to curse someone over football. -

Just verified. August 30th, 1 day before the deadline. Nitpicking though.. Guess you can't really fault the rest of my point..? You didn't really make a point. Yes, he was signed near the end, yes he was unproven. But he may well have been a good signing if not for the injury. The fact that he played twice infers that he passed whatever medical the club would have to give him before putting him out on the pitch. I think all would agree that we should not be satisfied with the midfield, but I would say I don't think this season has relegation written all over it more than the last two seasons. -

The thing is Chelse are actaully not that good going forward. Anelka drifts out of games, Malouda is good, but not amazing, while Kalou is very adept at dribbling when he ought to be shooting or passing. They only dominate smaller teams because they control the whole game in midfield and defence. Their like of bite at the front is why they have become a but of a DOsT this season. -
They do as it happens, New Era too. A bargain £6 each, can't go wrong. Who wouldn't want an image of Shearer on their head? http://shop.nufc.co.uk/sites/newcastle/images/Products/180419_B.jpg That has too much activiity going on. The cap should only have one symbol.

Chelsea are annoying good this term. The thing that gets me about them is that there not even playing well as of late. Deco is off form, Kalou is no better than N'Zogbia, and they have so many injuries that the team is picking itself. Last match they were missing (I think) Cech, Carvalho, Ashley Cole, Joe Cole, Ballack, Essien, and Drogba, and they are still raping most teams in what is considered the strongest team in the world. The thing I will say is that Oba and N'Zogbia must play. Boswinga can be attacked and beaten, but not by Duff's nonsense. Especially if Carvalho's out, Oba must play because Terry/Alex/Ianovic can be beaten for pace. -

I really don't get this. It's disgusting that people can have a go at Gonzalez. The guy didn't even have the chance to play never mind acclimate before he f***** his achilles. I remember when Oba looked like he tore ligaments in his first match, and when Jonas got a serious injury after I think his third match for us. Doesn't mean they're s*** or bad signings, just means they're injured. But for some reason people on here nowadays will throw vitriol towards anyone or anything without rhyme or reason. -
The sad thing is that there is very little exaggeration or hyperbole here. we do have many talented players who have accomplished alot.

What useless, unnecessary comments. This happened on the first day of September for goodness sake. Ashely is gone, Keegan is retired. Please go back to hoping YOUR team doesn't get relegated.
