Oba's one against Liverpool last year would have shat on Bentley's if it went in. Still, credit to Bentley it was a perfect shot. Regardless of what you say about Almunia, it would have been a great save to keep it out.

bulls*** free kick

Gomes never looked like this at PSV. I seriously wonder what is wrong with him.

Modric is going to do well today. I don't know why Arsenal have put such a lightweight midfield out there.

Let's talk about passports and that. What does 'foreign' REALLY mean?

Don't think question was ever about lack of UK managers. It was lack of success...for English managers in particular. An Englishman has not won the PL in a long while. And Redknapp was the first English manager to do it for some time. -
North London derby, while not always the most passionate, is usually good for entertainment. Will definitely ruse back from class to catch this.

Can I just ask in what ways has Martins been better than Ameobi the last 2-3 games? we know martins is good enough and we know ameobi isnt. simple as that for me. saw a diffrent martins to me tonight, i thought he was awful. i meant in general. ameobi has done well for half of 3 games but he's just not good enough. martins can get 15+ a season and that, for us, is good enough. It's what's happening now what important to us, and at the minute, Ameobi has scored as many as Martins, in far fewer minutes. Minutes played: Martins 379, Ameobi: 444 I've worked it out as Martins 475, to Ameobi 419. I think you might want to check your calculator then. Talking league only, by the way, but you're still wrong when it comes to Ameobi. Either way its not really far fewer minutes. Not that it matters anyway. Was a stupid point to begin with.

I didn't think so. Would have preferred if either Oba or Jonas stayed on so we had some form of a counter. Wasn't awful in my opinion anyway. He did some real dodgy things today, but his pace was very useful along Jonas and Duff imo. He really looked up for the second half too, but we decided not to attack that half. BTW...that penalty was terrible defending. There was absolutely no reason for Donk to make that challenge. But still fair play to Shola. He's been alright.

Yeah, we've had half our best players out for ages. Beye, Jonas, Owen, Martins & Barton. If all of them had been fully fit for the last 7 games, we'd be a damned sight higher up the table than we are. Or, you know, we're not very good. ?...The point is we've been missing a hell of alot of important players at the same. Even last year we were good when we had our best players available. It's just a shame that we can never seem to put the best team out.

Slightly annoying, yes More than slightly. And as someone else said, there is no excuse not being onside when you are not even making a run ffs. Why are you standing offside jogging around?!

Manager advisng the team to sit back and hold the lead. A better team would have torn us a new back 4. Taylor scares the s*** out of me. Taylor really instills no confidence in me at all. He does make some great and brave plays, but I am always afraid he cost us a goal and/or penalty. This is a constant thing with him. Still amazed we took off Jonas AND Oba. Taking off one is is fine but both. West Brom aren't as dominant in the last part of the match if they have Martins or Gutierrez running at them. When Shola is up there by himself, he provides no threat whtsoever.

IF Coloccini had been here longer it would be him. But that can wait until next year.

I would think the order would be Butt, Geremi, Taylor. I don't know who else would be nominated.

N'Zogbia: Lyon interested according to agent

Think of what has happened during these players career when they've been here. Why the f*** would any of them want to be loyal to this when it can't keep a stable owner...never mind a manager. -

He should go imo. I would just prefer if he left during next summer. -
Are you going? Touché. 3-0 win then. Who are you refering to?
-
I don't think we need people being getting banned retroactively at all. Unless it is a dangerous violent thing that the referee missed. Besides that, most things should be left on the pitch

Chelsea don't play a diamond though. They play with a 1 DM, 1 Cm, and 1 AM.
-
Yeah, that's what I'm getting at. The system wasn't even given a chance to fail.

Essien has been surprisingly bad in the holding role actually. He has a real hard time staying in position and leaves the defence stranded at times. Both him and Lassana Diarra failed at the DM for Chelsea because of this. (Even now, Diarra is not really a holding player). It just goes to show that the holding role requires more than just physical attributes (Something people should learn before deploying the likes of Amdy Faye there). It requires very good intelligence as well as the ability to read the game and follow tactical instructions. If you look at Maka, he is not a great tackler and to be honest, he is rather short and rather slow. But he always seems to where the ball is or needs to go. Same goes for Hamann, I'd say. Like Makelele, always standing in exactly the right place. Do you think Essien just lacks practice, or will never have the reading of the game to play there? I don't think it's in him really. His game is too phrenetic. He wants to do everything. And he tries to. This a problem in that role. If you look at Chelsea they always deploy Mikel Obi (or Maka last year) at DM even when Essien is fit because he is very cool on the ball. In essence he can be a security blanket and constant outlet. Essien is not this. His game will always be closer to Gerrard's or even Barton's than Mascherano, Mikel, or Makalele.
