People seem to try and use his yellow cards against him every game, it doesn't mean you played badly because you got booked ffs, especially as a defensive mid
-
'cause they started the game without an orthodox striker didn't they? anyway i just meant they had a plan that was clearly worked on in training, played to their strengths and everyone was well drilled in it and knew what they should have been doing....granted we had that last year but it's easier to have a defined plan when that plan is defensively grounded as ours was Spurs plan is basically give it to Bale, and he was able to produce a couple of moments to beat us. The difference between us and Spurs that day was him and him only. We sat deep to nullify their threat in the wide areas. And for no one to really do the business in the box from crosses they struggled. It's been that case for years, shut their flanks down and you've got a good chance. Last year they had VDV and Ade to counter that, this year Bale has turned into CR7-lite. With us, high line or deep line. It doesn't matter we don't have a strategy. Thinking this about Bale myself, he actually is coming onto that level, scary. Personally think you're being overly harsh against one of the better sides in the league, as others have said I think a lot of teams struggle against Spurs' tactics namely Manchester United a few weeks ago.

Marveaux has only ever showed anything when playing through the middle, out wide he just drifts in off either flank and isn't effective.

People forget Obertan has been our best player in Europe this season. And Marveaux has only ever shown anything for us when playing in the middle, so I totally understand why Obertan was picked.

Looked much better tonight than he has done for ages Idiotic tackle for first yellow and should have had a second yellow for the foul on their player in one of their counter attacks. Only wanted to pass the ball backwards and was easily drifted past by their players all night. The amount of time he spends on the ball before picking a pass is shocking aswell, would have been caught out countless times against prem opposition and has been this season. Getting a yellow card is not a sign of playing badly, and neither is keeping possession. Totally daft comments

He really needs to leave to progress, should take his chance while the media perception of him still seems to have him as a good manager.
-
I don't think Martinez is particularly good in the transfer market, signed a few poor players, Boselli comes to mind as an example.
-
I agree the substitutions were mindless and idiotic, however from the perspective of the players it doesn't exactly inspire confidence to boo them.
-
how else do fans show dissaproval to the management, adn tbh im sure thats what it was and not directed at players. Booing during the game is totally stupid* is what I meant to write, not sure what happened there.. Full time fair enough, not while the game is being played though.

Id say Obertan has been the most dangerous threat playing LW this season, so I'd have him there in the current best team.
-
+1 Am so so relieved now though
-
Shittest refereeing performance I've seen in a while. every fucking decision given in their favour. what a joke
-
The central free role seems by far his best position, small sample size admittedly.
-
Our worst player today, which is saying something.
-
The general lack of balance and team blend is the most concerning thing. This team just doesn't fit together well, its a worrying problem tbh.
-
And neither do we. Evertons mix of longballs, and quickpaced wing/fullback combinations aren't too bad however Everton seem to have achieved the impossible in playing a fairly attractive, long ball game. Although so much of what they do comes from their fullbacks providing such natural width, something we lack totally.
-
Still looks very useful in the Euro game, can't complain.

Pace, Power, Skill, Natural Talent?

People need to wise the fuck up and stop expecting us to be league winning contenders or some shit. We've had god knows how many managers in the last 10 years, and some are saying they aren't happy with Pardew despite all his previous success? It will come good, theres too much squad quality for it not to.
-
So true. This is basically the F.A. thinking they're above the law.

Since when did Vaz Te become this good.
