  1. Roy Keane is such a cunt. The one thing you should always do is be biased towards your own country
  2. Thread title sounds like a prison sentence
  3. So does the bloke with the ball, which is why he's effective.
  4. GK: Given RB: Johnson CB: Terry CB: Vermaelen LB: Evra DM: Mascherano MC: Fabregas MC: Gerrard RW: Anelka LW: Rooney FC: Torres
  5. Boycotting is never going to end favourably for anybody. All that happens is lost income, less motivated players and get the rest of the country laughing at us even more. Agree what has already been pointed out, the only time Ashley goes now is when we get promoted and all we can do now is support the players and management staff in achieving that goal. Ashley wouldn't give 2 shits if only 20,000 fans turned up, as the second we are back as a premier league team our value skyrockets on a much greater scale than a few lost ticket sales.
  6. Cuntish decision from the FA, Billy Sharp should get a 3 match ban like Huth and co and Zurab's should be reduced to the yellow it should have been. Touching someone's neck is not a red card offence ffs.
  7. Butt is just another legless codger who can't keep up with the game. Just because the rest are bad doesn't mean he's the answer. One of the few successes this season has been Butt's replacement, Smith. partly my point. he's not the answer but did he deserve the lickings of a dog he got and why aren't smith, nolan and others getting similar for worse performances ? Smith has been better imo. Guthrie and Nolan, I agree have been s**** but I've said that previously. smith at the start of the season fair enough....last 5 or 6 games ? nah! Now you are making Smith the scapegoat. He's doing his job in front of the back four, it's the midfieders who don't dovetail with the attack that are failing. no i'm saying he's been as bad as butt and nolan recently and probably overated at the start of the season/ He was on a booking from the first minute, which completely stifles his nature to be aggressive and control the game for us. Smith, Enrique and R Taylor were the only ones who played well today really.

  9. Barton doesn't deserve to be in the first team on this seasons display and isn't as effective on the right wing as Ryan Taylor.
  10. who was the lad who set up nile for a couple in the england games? i can't think of his name Delfouneso
  11. Rose played with Nile for England earlier in the summer didn't he?
  12. My spurs mate just said pretty much the same thing to me.
  13. Totally agree, people see the name Alan Smith and just think of the headless, aimless, positionless chicken of the Allardyce era
  14. Guthrie and Barton for me has the most potential, although tbf to Smith he is making a strong case. Guthrie holding spraying passes with Barton being the driving influence I just still don't trust Barton, both on and off the pitch. I like the holding player to be more like Smith than Guthrie, personal preference though, as both are more than capable. What risk is he on the pitch? Alan Smith is a lot more of a risk than Barton, he could easily have been sent off against both Reading and Sheff Wed Liverpool (a) last season, and we all know the fact that he's Joey Barton means he is under constant target from officials, players and fans. When he's on form he is a fine footballer, but against Reading he wasn't brilliant (granted, out of position). If it was a clean slate, maybe you're right, but Smith has earned this shirt for the short/mid future.
  15. Guthrie and Barton for me has the most potential, although tbf to Smith he is making a strong case. 16. People at the game, how did the midfield combo of Guthrie and Smith look? I think this is our best partnership personally as both make up for the others weaknesses.
  17. He does dive into too many rash tackles, but I would say that he wins most of them. He tackles tough and hard, which helps get the fans and rest of the team pumped up, helping us with our momentum on the pitch. Added to the fact that he is our current captain, and has done a pretty good job so far, I would say he should be more valuable to us than Geremi, Butt, Barton and Nolan.
  18. The thing that Smith has looked much better with this season is his positioning on the football pitch and the general understanding of his role. He has played like the shield that he should be and is rarely found behind the opposition attack, as he was for much of his earlier time here. I think it is forgotten that the holding role was completely alien to him until a few years ago, so it will take time for him to perfect the way he plays. Most of all he looks like he has found his position, and isn't the lost soul we saw under Allardyce.
  19. We don't have enough players to get rid. Other wise I'd be all for him f***ing off. Reduces the wage bill and he's a liability. I'd rather have Butt in there and we've still got Guthrie to come back too. Seriously?
  20. People either don't know what a good defensive midfielder is supposed to do, or simply overlook everything positive because its Alan Smith. Smith may get booked often but that's because he makes around ten crunching challenges every game. I want my defensive midfielder to tackle like Vinny Jones and if he takes the odd red card, so be it. Smith has taken control of each game so far and is key to promotion.
  21. Fuckkkkkkkkkk Taylor is the one player that I want us to keep at all costs, He is key to any promotion challenge!! Despite not being the complete polished article as a defender, he has looked real class at this level, and seems to motivate others around him, something we really lack at times.
  22. Whats with all the Smith comments? He's never come across as being a bad personality or influence, and has a reputation for being a model pro. As a central midfielder, granted he isn't a great player, but he isn't as slow as Geremi, and doesn't try as many suicide passes as Butt. If you actually watch him during a game he doesn't give the ball away very often at all and will add bite that is a big part of Championship football. As a partnership, him and Barton should work well as they compliment each other while both sharing an aggressive nature. I would pick: Harper R Taylo S Taylor Kadar Enrique Lua Lua Smith Barton Duff Ameobi Carroll
