    The Story So Far

Team: Newcastle United Current Position: 12th Where did you expect your team to currently be: I was expecting us to be pushing for Europe or at the very least comfortably mid-table Best player so far this season: Shay Given, improved no end from last season and has been back to the world class form we know from him. Worst player so far this season: Geremi/Cacapa. Slow, weak and we seem to lose most games that they play in. Offer very little to us atm. Best game so far: Pompey away, totally unexpected and it has seemed to re-ignite our season. Worst game so far: Mackems, no need to explain. Who would you like to sign in January: A central midfielder who has pace, power and can spot and make a pass without hitting the opposition, that player will not be easy to find. Who would you like to sell in January: Alan Smith. We hav clearly done fine without him all season and we would be better off without him at the club. Thoughts on your manager so far this season: I can't put it any better than 2J has so I'll leave what he said. He's made some big errors at times that have cost us, but he may actually now be learning from his mistakes, which is a good sign, as he's man enough to admit he's wrong when doing this. He's came in, steadied the ship at a time when nobody else would. Although don't get me wrong, he definitely had an agenda behind this as it puts his name back in the frame for other jobs and was his last chance to re-ignite his career. But actually seeing Charlie play ahead of Duff and Bassong ahead of Taylor is something that most fans want to see, although initially it was forced upon him by injuries, at least he hasn't allowed those to get straight back into the team. General thoughts on your team so far: Kinnear still doesn't fill me with total confidence but I like his aggression and the way he gets us fighting for everything. We are also playing some neat football at times so I am fairly optimistic about the rest of the season. Where do you think you’ll finish from this point to the end of the season: Depending on injuries, the window etc I'll guess for 8th. We are much better than Fulham, Pompey, Bolton etc who are above us atm so no reason why we can't finish there.
  2. Maybe its because they are the 2 shittest teams away from home in the league?
  3. Shay Given for me - Total consistency this season
  4. Parker, but in reality I wouldn't really want any back atm.
  5. Don't understand this point, it's what you do when your down by a goal near the end of a game. Even when it hasnt worked for the entire match? And continues to not work when you do it at every opportunity in the last 10 minutes? I rate Enrique but he pissed me off when he kept at it. Beye was overlapping though and was unfortunate to have Duff as his Wingman. Exactly, Enrique didnt have a Jonas in front of him to use so the long ball was the best option, rather than gving it to Butt or Cacapa inside him. Id see your point if something, in fact anything was coming off when he was playing the long ball. He was hitting it in the right areas and they were decent long balls but he should have been thinking 'hads on, this isnt working'...in spanish. The long ball gets the ball in and around those areas and there is more chance of us picking up a lucky bobble from the second ball. I am not a fan of long ball generally, but sometimes it is just needed. He would have probably had JK shouting him to launch it long as well.

how? Taylor was at fault for 3 against Everton last season but nobody gave a shit Because it was the last fucking game of the season and we were playing for nothing, of course nobody gave a shit. Cacapa is worse than Boumsong, thats how bad he is

  9. Given 7 Beye 6 Colo 5 Cacapa 1 Enrique 6 Duff 5 Butt 6 Barton 7 Jonas 5 Oba 5 Shola 6 Yet we were miles better than Fulham for most of the game and the Brazilian joke has cost us.
  10. Well done Cacapa you fucking shit excuse, cost us at least a point if not all 3. Anyone who thinks he's better than Taylor is a complete moron.
  11. That's what I was about to post, think the same. I believe the system can work if the personnel are right for it. Exactamundo. I don't resent Keegan, and nor do i resent the system at all - i think it definitely works as far as quality recruitment is concerned. But KK was never the right man to appoint, if this was the system. Destined for failure. There's still lingering question marks over what tipped Keegan over the edge - ie - did he quit (at that point) cos Wise/Ashley were signing/selling players without his permission? We'll never know the answer to that. But as far as the system goes - with the right personnel, then yeah, it'll be spot on. But someone with as much pride, confidence and - tbf - ego as Kevin Keegan was never going to be the right man to work in correlation with the transfer setup. It needs a yes-man that's just a good trainer/motivator/tactician. The only way I can see this structure working in the long-term is if the DOF works under the manager, basically as a glorified chief scout. Managers pick the team and they should have the right to sign players they want and not have players brought in over their heads. We'll not go down though, Spurs would have to get seriously fucked to go down, West Ham is a real possibility imo.
  12. Ask any Spurs fan who knows anythin about their setup and they will tell you that Comolli is the main problem, then its Levy's fault for appointing him, etc.
  13. Rubbish. Burley was only speaking the truth, the majority wouldn't have given it, and Styles was in a much better position to give the decision than the linesman because he could see the ball change direction whereas the linesman couldn't. Rubbish, obviously. Rob Styles was walking around in the centre circle rather than being up with the play, he was in no position to make a huge decision that is going to shape the rest of the game. Styles took a 50/50 gamble and got it wrong. He is an egotistic cunt of a referee who wants to see his name in the paper the following morning rather than the players. Cunts like him shouldn't referee at this level.
  14. If it was a yellow for the challenge and then another yellow for dissent then surely Riley would have shown him 2 yellow cards? The way I see it he got a straight red for the tackle, which is a bit of a joke really. Another sign of Mike Riley wanting to be the big man on the big occasion and make decisions that get people talking about him rather than the match.
  15. If thats confirmed then it be either 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 Hopefully 4-3-3, couldn't bear Duff and Ron on the wings! Zog left Duff right Colo or Cacapa centre mid with Ron right back then perhaps? Tbh i see it in the order its written with Colo right back and Geremi and Butt in centre mid

    Steven Taylor

without fail. Yet some fools on here would still rather put his development before the team Hilarious how this and other similar myths continue getting churned out every time Taylor is mentioned. Who the f*** does, honestly? The same as when people "excuse Taylor cos he's a Geordie", that's utter toss n'all. He gets slated on here more than many other players in our squad. York a lot of people on here (and especially at the game) are happy for him to be in the team, it's nowt short of madness. How many times does he want to let us down Everything you post on here is exaggerated horribly. You have said you think Cacapa is 5 times the player Taylor is and Ronaldo (obese crock legend one) would still be 10 times better than Viduka. Get some fucking perspective.
  18. I can't. He's always been number 1 on my list. Pascal Chimbonda

    Dennis Wise

Bollocks! I hate the little cockney twat, and it shows a total lack of understanding of NUFC and football in general that Ashley appointed him in the first place. You complain about the media in one thread and believe everything that is said about Wise in another. Amazing. What are you going on about!? I didn't mention the media in that post. I don't need the tabloids to convince me that Wise is an odious little shite! Dennis Wise, Director of Football at NUFC. Does that sound right? Think about it! Aye, should get Beardsley, not only is he local but he's got plenty of experience of bullying young lads so he could pick on them until they sign. I'd expect a Director of Football to have a comprehensive knowledge of European and World football, and a network of contacts around the world. I'm sure you'd agree that Dennis Wise did not, and never will, fit that bill. But he's building up a team around him that do, that's the point. The signings of Jonas and Gonzalaz show they've got contacts. Its all Vetere How would you know? Have you heard what people in football say about him? call him a walking encyclopedia with knowledge on every major player on the planet. obviously I've not asked him personally like but call it an educated guess

sure you don't want to alter that sentence as it;s a bit stupid. Wise's role is as head of transfer activity, obviously the "scouting" part Keegan couldn't do but surely Jimenez and Vetere could report back to Keegan rather than Wise

    Dennis Wise

Theres no need for him to be here, I'm sure Keegan is more than capable of doing whatever it is that Wise does The only reason he is here is because he believes he will eventually step into Keegan's shoes as manager
  23. Fifa really need to take a look at the NFL and the way that certain things are regulated. If football isn't going to become completely dominated by money then we need: A Salary Cap A cap on the number of transfers allowed to be made during one window A limit on a squad size And most definately there needs to be a limit on the amount of foreign players in one premiership team
