Our poor form certainly puts added pressure on him to sell. If a sale doesn’t go through by January and I was the buyer I’d certainly be wanting a relegation clause meaning Ashley would need to spend in January to protect his price. If he sells before January then the spending would be down to the new owner and Ashley could reasonably argue that if we go down then it’s not down to him. Surely the perfect time for both sides is now. We’ve got tough fixtures coming up.

With all due respect I think that's naive at best. He's not losing games deliberately, we're losing games due to a lack of quality on the park and a certain amount of stubbornness in the dugout. Some players clearly aren't up to standard but continue to be selected. There's an inherent inability to create chances and convert them and it's not a blip. We really struggle to score and we appear to be fairly comfortable to contain and teams know they'll get a chance to score a few, home or away. I genuinely fear we've been sussed already and more and more teams will just pick us off. 4 losses on the spin which could quite easily become 6 and we start dropping like a stone. It's all well and good having blind faith in the boss but he's going to have to do something to put it right asap. We need a reaction. More of the same will see us in the dogfight at the bottom by Xmas. I'm canny concerned to be brutally honest. If Rafa can’t see or is too stubborn to see the obvious then we’re in big trouble. I’ve rarely seen us so easily beaten by a fairly average side. We were second best by a long long way today.

I’m going to choose to believe that Rafa is playing the game by to show what could be if Ashley gets this wrong. Rafa doesn’t lose 4 on the trot and certainly not by making the same mistakes. It was clear very early on that Watford were individually better than us and we did nothing to try and change this. I really hope this was a case of Rafa making a point.

Mitrovic and Merino had to come on at ht, we were being being pissed on all all over the the park. I was very worried by his formation today. We got absolutely battered, and Rafa has to take his fair share of criticism for it:

I’d love to know where the money is from. If PCP are putting some of their own money in then does this mean theyre in it as an investment as could be the other investors (who don’t have the money on their own)? I think I’d rather she was acting as the front for some obscenely rich owner who’s in it for the glory as opposed to more than one investor who are prepared to put money in but ultimately will want a favourable return.

They must have offered a decent salary, budget and length of contract. He must be pretty gutted that his best option is Sunderland in their position. Where does he go from there once he’s failed? Back into the media with the last 3 and half years of his contract paid up to comfort him.

Joselu had a fairly decent chance in the first half to at least test the keeper and you’d expect a top striker to convert that same chance perhaps 3 or 4 times out of 10. Joselu got no kind of connection on it at all. I’d call Joselu functional but we need him to chip in with the odd goal; without him posing a goal threat he becomes too easy to defend against. A new striker is an absolute must.

Why aren’t to commentators calling that offside? Have they seen a different video to us?

I think there’s a good player in there. His confidence is in pieces at the minute and he’s not had much opportunity. We’ve got supporters who groan every time we don’t play a forward pass and haven’t a clue what’s actually going on on the pitch and though I didn’t hear any booing (can’t believe there was), he may need to grow a thicker skin just now. Can’t be sending him out on loan.

Sunderland just need to shoot on sight at the minute.
