He'll have 2 years left on his contract come June and will be 3 years into his contract. He could use the Webster ruling to buy out his contract for relatively little money given what we paid for him. I'll be amazed if we don't sell given the risks.
-
He isn't going to sign a new contract and whilst he may not necessarily want to leave before the World Cup there's no way we'll risk losing transfer money if a decent bid comes in this week. Once the bid gets to around 20 million he'll be gone. As things stand we know his hand and can call the shots to make the best of the situation. We'd still get 14 million in the summer so let's play some hard ball now. We'll be a much poorer side without him though.

Bournemouth playing well here. What's Pardew's excuse for Lpool sending out a strong side?

RTG is full of arses, but there's some quality posters on there too. If you dip into SMB, you'll get some good banter with some very intelligent posters. I've had debates with two Physicists and at least one Doctor. It's not all bad. I understand your sentiments entirely about wanting us to lose No, I'm no longer a ST holder. I used to go go home and away when I was single (happy days!) but two kids, a wife, and no pay rise since 2008 means I have to pick and choose my games carefully, but if things pick up financially I'll be back more regularly, although a season ticket is probably a long way off. Cheers, forgot to ask, does The Fairs Cup count as a major trophy? I had one of the best weekends away when you lot played down in York in the 3rd division. Was full of drink by kick off and my abiding memory is of some Mackem with a daffodil dancing to a Smiths song (Suedehead I think).

Hi There Mackem, I sometimes post on RTG but can rarely be arsed now because you have to post the same thing in several duplicate threads so that everyone sees it, the fact that the moment you post you're seen as a wum & get immediate abuse. My first post on there was to say that I had several Sland supporting good mates, that I'd been to a good few games (Milk Cup Final and the Gillingham (with my Mackem mate) games being just two) and I was hoping to contribute to some threads, I was pm'd within hours hoping that my family and I all died in a house fire that night. Your mods thought that was ok banter. RTG as a board can be all over the place, there's obviously no merge facility. Anyway, are you a ST holder at SOL, have you been to many of our games where Sland haven't been playing, do you have Nufc supporting mates and do you believe the 1992 shite that gets spouted all the time over there? Btw, I was happy enough that you beat Man U; it was pure comedy and seeing them suffer is great. It wouldn't bother me seeing you win were it not for the fact that it'll bring out the worst in both sets of fans. For that reason alone; I hope you lose.
-
I've got good mates who'll now have a good day out. I was with them at the "Friendly Final" and have no problem with them getting there again. Man U were awful again and on balance I'm enjoying their embarrassment more than Sland's victory. If they go on to beat City let's see how many travel to Eastern Europe.

Come on then sland you deserve it

More hilarity

Hilarious

Man U don't deserve to get through, pity it's the mackems they're playing.

Mackems beginning to look a bit dangerous.
-
Debuchy walked for the same challenge

Let's see what he's like if he manages to stay fit. Regardless of his lack of match fitness, it looked to me like he really didn't want to score with that chance yday, it was so casual and he didn't look at all bothered about it. It may well be that it was just shite technique but he swung at it like he was larking about.
-
First time he's lost to us since he left - feels good.

This may have been mentioned (I've not looked at the full thread) but it looked for all the world to me that as soon as Hart put his hand up that Mike Dean had decided to disallow it. Hart doesn't see Gouffran until he turns his head to follow the ball fly beyond him and there is then a pause before he half heartedly appeals. Dean was in a great position to see that Gouffran wasn't in his line of sight but he was hell bent on going to the linesman and tell him to stick his flag up. Unbelievable. Yes, Cabaye was lucky to stay on and I've not seen Yanga's challenge again (seemed innocuous at the match) but he'd placed himself in an impossible position following that offside. Presumably he'll be dropped for next week).

Mackems cost me £300 today - last acca I had they equalised at Cardiff to knack my acca. They owe me over £400 and are going to stay up if I keep on taking them to lose.

I remember Sir Les coming up here as a QPR player, murdered us, scored 2. I couldn't believe it when we managed to sign him. As a poacher Cole wins hands down but as a player I'd have Sir Les every time; we completely fucked up in the way he was allowed to leave. Yes, we were unfortunate with Shearer's injury but unless we desperately needed the money it was a howler of a decision.
-
Andy Cole was fantastic for us but Sir Les was imperious, he had everything. No contest for me.

Been told WH are confident they'll get Lescott. I'd imagine he'll be having 2nd thoughts if true. Also been told that they rate Maiga as about League One level and want rid. What did our Graham see in him? Scout says there's some tall Polish player who is tailor made for the Prem (presume Big Sam's idea of tailor made) no idea what his name is but I thought you'd all like to know about it.............. Of course there's always the possibility that Sam may have just had his last hurrah.
-
Should be off. As much as it is Sunderland, I hate MU and wouldn't be that sorry to see them lose this.
-
WH should refund their travelling fans and apologise to the young lads in their team who've been hung out to dry here. I feel a bit for them given the fixtures they have but this embarrassing.
-
He doesn't look like that on tonight's showing. He was fucking huge. That photo came out some time ago when he was accused of being a bit big. Don't think I've seen a pro look as big as he did tonight.

Had we shown any ambition we'd have won today.
