I'm not sure what else the club could say. Unfortunately, this strategy is going to see DL reusing this statement time and time again with only the occasional hit. Great value, young goal scorers don't come easily.

Mashley wants it both ways. 35m for Carroll but he'll not pay a premium in return. Unfortunately, goal scorers, even those running down a contract and wanting to leave, come at a price. Given the surplus we've made in transfers it is scandalous that we haven't bought a Number 9. Think he'll have learnt his lesson come January?

Ffs SMB will have a field day with this.

He's a decent player, not top notch but he clearly fancied himself at Coventry where the fans thought he was a bit lazy/ too good. I think he's ok; he doesn't have 1 outstanding attribute to make him stand out. He'll never blow anyone away but if he really sticks in he should be ok. Problem for us is that we all foolishly believed that we might buy a stand out striker. The fact that the Number 9 shirt hasn't been given out is evidence enough of what a mess we made of the transfer window.

The biggest single factor which will help lower to middling clubs like us is a goal scorer. On that score we have failed miserably; again. We have Shola, Ba and Best (I'll not name others as they simply do not map). That is a pathetic choice and we know that there will be injuries along the way. The fact that any 2 of that 3 do not seem to be able to operate as a pair will see us play one up top with HBA just off or when he is injured we will see Lovelypants get his game. What could have been a decent window (or as best that could be hoped for) has turned into a complete and utter joke.

No doubt we'll get the sob story tmrw. It really is fucking pathetic; Mashley will no doubt be having a little chuckle somewhere. The truth is that you couldn't blame Ruiz for chosing Fulham and the bigger truth is that us fans are being shafted; again.
-
No idea what to think, either way we've acted poorly. The good news so far is that Fulham haven't yet confirmed the deal n you'd think they'd get it out there ASAP for their fans. I'll give them to 9.30 and then start building my hopes up again. But why?

If Bendtner turns up at Sland we'll try and nick him....
-
After the piss take with N'Zog it's hardly credible that we'd do virtually the same again. Not fucking funny already!!!!!

Who is on helicopter watch at Benton? We've left it this late so we can better Fulham's terms, get him here and then say whoops there's a nought on there in error, we'll just take that off. Too late to go back to London son; here's my pen and there's the dotted line. Rub hands.
-
Hope Stoke don't get A Johnson.
-
Strange one for me.
-
The chopper is bound to develop a fault. Unlucky. Haha; do you think they bought it?
-
As been mentioned; we need idiots at Benton, SJP & all major transport terminals - go, now.
-
Makes no sense; I couldn't see him being a regular starter. Sturridge please.

Nearly ended Marcelino's career.

All fans are never angels and the policing should be planned appropriately and proportionately to the risk. The police operation was a shambles.

The street up to The Leppings Lane End and the tunnel once in are all made for a bottle neck. Add in fencing once on the terrace and you are in a cage. For our visits they'd open the side pens once the middle ones looked full. If some clown opens up an exit get at the turnstiles of course they'll head for the tunnel. Those of us who have been there know this and will also remember how the SY police dealt with fans. Stop any coach, car or van which looked like it had away supports in and escort them to a parking place. Once at the ground you were viewed as scum. As a 15 year old I nearly got refused entry for being drunk - I hadn't had a drop. The police had been through the miners strike and basically seemed to take this forward to conflict with fans who to be fair could be trouble at that time. I've no doubt that had Nufc been in that game that we would have had that end, that we would have had both ticketless and pissed up supporters and the very same policemen would have been there with the same incompetent man in charge. This wasn't Heysel; what happened really could have happened to any other club. The supporters played some part in this but without doubt the policing was the single biggest factor.

He looks so far off the pace; very worrying.

But they're not on the pitch

That's an Ameobi, no mistake
