The midfield is a battlefield in the CCC, all about aggression, closing down and legs. For Geremi to operate we'd have to have at least 2 other's working their tits off for him so he could be our play maker. Fuck that for a joke. For every good ball he played last season he played 4 of 5 bad ones; there were times he couldn't pass it to feet from 5 yards. Barton and Gutherie may do well for us, Nolan can fuck off too as his legs aren't up to it.
-
Get rid asap. His lack of mobility would see him raped in the Championship. He's been one of the worst signings I can remember; no legs when we signed him & gave him a 5 year contract on silly money. FFS.
-
He'll not go to Hull unless no-one else comes in for him or we are simply trying to get him off the wage bill. How the fuck could Hull pay his wages; they can't afford to have a 50k a week FB & surely we can't be subsidizing his wages?
-
If this goes through I hope to god he has substantial American backing behind him. If he doesn't and we don't go up we could be in for another rough ride. If Seymour Price are good to their word (!) they wouldn't be backing a deal that didn't safeguard the club's future; would they?

Sebastien Bassong signs for Tottenham Hotspur, fee undisclosed

You'd like to think that even without a new manager/ owner that this will lead to us signing a couple of players - and sharpish. Although these sales were enivitable it must be a bit demoralising for the rest of the players. We'd better wrap the players up in cotton wool ahead of Saturday or we'll have no defence or strikers. -
My ticket is on here; stood to the right of the players tunnel. http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/index.php/topic,63155.0.html

As much as I love KK he can't come back. If a new owner does want KK back then I would seriously question the business acumen of that owner; unless they have bucket loads of cash & support everything KK wants. Without that you'd have think that we have an owner looking for approval, the media waiting for the enivitable fall out, followed by KK walking again. We'd be no further forward and would have probably pissed Shearer off in the process. Shearer may not turn out to be the answer but, should we get an owner with money and sense Shearer has an opportunity to prove himself.

Reporter to Shola "What does Bobby Robson call you?", Shola reply: "Carl Cort". Anyone else would have been judged racist. Classic Bobby. He also called Kieron Dyer "Kevin"

He's a quality player but has acted like a big kid lately. A lot of the blame must lie with Ashley as he may have stayed had the takeover happened by now. I had hoped he would have shown some loyalty but hey, he's a footballer & the present owner would test everyones patience.

David Platt's goal against Belgium with Bobby's dancing on the touchline.

RIP. You will be sorely missed. The world has lost a true gentleman and we have lost a great ambassador for the whole area.

Why is this about the quality of the Bundesliga? Ashley wants Oba off the wage bill, Wolfsburg are the only one's in for him. Their league doesn't have the money ours has but look where we are. It is cheap to watch football in Germany & they get good crowds as a result. Good luck to them. I saw us over in Frankfurt, we were awful (having qualified already), they weren't very good, the ground was great and so was the atmosphere. Fuck knows where they all went afterwards; certainly wasn't the pubs we were in.
-
Have you just made that up though? We don't anything about the details of the bids or anything like that, how can we say whether or not Ashley is being unrealistic? Ashley's tenure to date tells us he is an arrogant prick who believes he can do what he wants and get what he wants. The man believed we could succeed without investing in the first 11, that he could appoint KK and then fuck him off without expecting a reaction, let Hughton get on with it, expect managers to fall over themselves to come, appoint JK.......etc Are you suggesting we give Ashley any benefit of doubt?
-
They don't have to say anything, just get the club sold. Exactly, that's what I mean. If the Chronicle or The Mag think that Ashley is realistically going to give details about what is happening they're living in a dreamworld. Sadly all we can do is wait and hope something happens as soon as possible. No we don't have to wait and hope, the local media can certainly make things very uncomfortable for Ashley to string everyone along and contemplate jsut letting the club drift to oblivion. Knowing there is a public storm on the verge of being whipped up give Ashley a bit more incentive to take the best offer and get lost. Surely Ashley is already desperate to get out though? I wouldn't have thought we can make him sell any faster than he already wants to. At the moment everything has to be on Ashley terms & he has unreaslitic expectations on the sale. This needs to change. There is just over a week until the season starts and a month to the end of the transfer window. The value of the club is dropping by the hour; we have a huge wage bill & whoever comes in has little time to sort the manager/ squad out. I reckon 60m-70m would be a decent figure right now.
-
Let's hope this is the start of a concerted campaign from the Chronicle. Almost without exception the rest of the country & media believe that the fans are getting their just dessert and that Ashley has been ill treated. I am sick of hearing that he gave us KK & then Shearer whilst drinking with the fans to gain popularity and acceptance that wasn't forthcoming. These sound bites have provided contempt from the rest of the country towards the fans. It would be lovely if the truth could now out and for all to see what a complete twat that man is. Tonight's match could be interesting - small crowd, all protesting.
-
Ashley should be made to watch this, though it is too much to hope that it will embarrass him into action. Hopefully potential buyers do get a tape of it and see what the club has to offer and how the fans will respond to true hero's and how they have been able to keep this night to be about the man. Even when the crowd has been quiet there has been not one person taking the opportunity to sing against Ashley. Ashley will get his vocal message on Wednesday.
-
"You'll never beat Des Walker" & the Forest fans were usually right. Very quick with a very quick brain for seeing danger.
-
You can see Shearer's influence has rubbed off on Shola with that finish..
-
SSN trying say our starting 11 lost 6-1!
-
Joking aside. WTF is going on down there? Are the players giving Ashley a wake up call?
-
Pity the comments are down. I'd just observed that at this rate we'd lose 30-0...

SSN: £10m offer from Spurs for Sebastien Bassong rejected
Tsunami replied to Crumpy Gunt's topic in Football
He wants to go. We'll get decent money but he hardly takes much off the wage bill. Pity Spurs don't want Colo. Unfortunately, other teams will be looking at our younger players who aren't on big money as opposed to the likes of Colo, Duff, Barton etc who will not hold residual value and who are currently vastly overpaid. When the shit hits the fan our squad will be severely lacking of potential stars and we will be left with overrated, overpaid, underperforming players who we can't get rid of and younger players who aren't going to be good enough at the top level. We will bring in some decent Championship level players to make the numbers up. If we go up we will have a huge rebuidling job to stop up. If we get new owners they are going to have to great vision and be brave or they need to have shit loads of cash. -
The judge said it was a fair verdict. I'm pretty sure I could see his You'll Never Walk Alone socks peeking through as he joined in the singing outside the court room. The law on self defence is somewhat open to argument of a perceived threat and allowed reasonable action to stop that threat. For Gerrard to successfully convince the jury that he hadn't seen his mate standing next to him land a blow and for him to then almost immediately hit the bloke 3 times in self defence is understandly open to question (complete bollocks). He then has to be dragged away in self defence. If that same bloke had hit Gerrard when he came over with 5 or 6 mates to have a chat about what was his problem and he had pleaded self defence I wonder what the jury's verdict would have been?
