Seen a few people questioning the offside decision. It was right in line with me and I called it straight away. Toney was clearly interfering with play, Schar clears it otherwise. Toney also came from behind Schar on his blindside. I thought the penalty decision was more dubious tbh, BDB got caught under the ball and had to jump backwards. You simply have to raise your arm, it’s a natural movement. The ball was then headed against his arm at point blank range. I’m not at all sure what he was meant to do.

Played well today ?

It’s his final ball that’s his issue. Could be a lack of confidence, he seems a quiet lad which doesn’t help either. Coaching team have work to do with him. At some point he will move on. There’s definitely a decent player in there for top half Champ or bottom half PL side. He certainly needs a run of games somewhere.

He needs game time somewhere. Pope was caught in no man’s land but it was a great ball in. Lewis was simply ball watching, complete lack of awareness.

I know of at least one group of lads who’ve had to pie off the trip last minute as they just couldn’t get there without it being a complete ball ache.

He’s fumbled a couple of shots like that for us but got away with it. The England defence did him no favours on the night. As for the penalty he clearly thought it was going the other side and he wasn’t getting anywhere near it. Gundogan looked twice to Pope’s right, in a I hope the keeper sees me looking way, and Pope bought the ticket. Having said all that he looked very inhibited in both games.
